Like a Reddit user once mentioned "Tia Maria's is a godsend to this planet" and I wholeheartedly agree. Everytime I post about this place someone asks me where I am. I've been wanting to hold back on this review because I swear every time I go, there's so many people ordering takeout or dining it! It very much is getting the attention it deserves. I will say, pricier than your other honduran joints but this one is worth it. You can taste the love and fresh ingredients they pour into this place. If you can, go with a group of people so you can try a bunch of dishes. You seriously cant go wrong with anything on the menu but my favs are: Mega Baleada with carne asada and their pupusas! I've had the pastelitos, enchildas hondurenas, combo miramar, combo lempira. Note: Anything that mentions Hondurenas (tacos and enchiladas) they're different than your typical Mexican style!**

Food 10/10. Got the pupusa with steak and the steak was well seasoned, maduros was exactly how I like them. The shrimp and garlic sauce was cooked beautifully, well balanced plate, tostones was crisped to perfection, great portion size. No exaggeration this was a great meal!

OMG!!!!! Someone grandma in the kitchen thowing down! That has to be one of the best Hondureno restaurant in the city!!!! The ouside is bright yellow with a spanish touch. The inside is very cute, clean and just a latino vibe. The servers are very friendly and patient. I ordered the pupusas mixtas, whole fried fish, chicharron and carne asada tacos, fried green plantains, and plantain maduro con frijoles y crema. When I say everything i mean everything was amazing, fresh, flavorful, authentic and most importantly seasoned!!! Oh, and the food comes out fast This is def a mom and pop where nothing is lacking! Cant wait to come back.

Deep fried redfish with all the fixings. The sweet plantains are delicious.

The service is amazing. Everyone is so friendly. A great selection of food that is quite plentiful on your plate Marie was an excellent servor and very willing to explain the menu and answer question. Don't just pass it by, you will be glad you stopped!

10/10!! Amazing food and such great service. Never had anything I don't like here. I love the putacos and the tacos hondurenos - Sooooo delicious. It's also not expensive to eat here. Lots of options too. Gotta get the espressochata!! Writing this is making me hungry again.

I had a great lunch at Tia Maria's! I stopped by for a quick lunch while out running errands. The dining room area is super cute. I got the catrachitas. Even though they are an appetizer they were large enough to be a main dish. They were super tasty! I'm excited to go back and try some more dishes!

I'm about ready to RUN back to Tia Maria's!! This is a no-frills, know how to thrown DOWN spot. The food is amazing, the drink was delicious (orange margarita i think it was)... the fried pork chop *drooling*. I mean I had every piece to the bone. The service was great, fast & attentive. Very kind. I will 100% be back and super soon. I can wait to try more items on their menu.

I got this recommendation from a Honduran friend. This place was amazing. Great friendly staff, the food is flavorful. Awesome guac and the steak I had with the Honduran breakfast was so good. Don't sleep on the drinks either. I really enjoyed the Mora. Service was pretty fast even though they were slammed. And I'm kind of particular so the cleanliness of the establishment made me very happy!

Combo Miramar and Maduros con Frijoles y Crema

really good!! miramar combo comes with a lot of food for the price, it's a great deal.

So I attended a conference for bilingual speakers. The organization hosting this event had the lunch provided by this place. I am half Honduran but I have never liked any of the local Honduran restaurants. I always felt as though I needed to cook my own native foods, if I want it to be good. I have always been disappointed by the tastes & presentation of certain local Honduran Restaurants. This place provided delicious lunches for 2 days. The first day 4/14/25, I ate pechuga de pollo (chicken breast) sautéed with onion & bell pepper accompanied by yellow rice & refried beans, a flour tortilla. The chicken was juicy & the marinade used had the right amount of flavor. The flour tortilla was made from scratch & I enjoyed wrapping the chicken in it with a little bit of the other sides like you would when eating a fajita.... I enjoyed it, I ate the whole plate even though I practice portion control. The portion was filling. It was the only meal I ate that day. On today we had carne asada with onion, belll pepper, white rice , plátanos maduros, yuca frita, 2 corn tortillas. Once again everything was delicious! The meat was flavorful & it was tender. The sides complimented the meat. The portion was good, This plate I could not finish in one sitting. I will definitely patronize this restaurant on the days that I don't feel like cooking. My household will love it. I'm glad that I found this gem....I hope that my experience at the actual restaurant adds to this experience. PS, the rice is cooked in like broth which makes it tasty.... Also, there are vegetarian options. Enjoy! This is the Best Honduran Restaurant in NOLA!

The executive chef is definitely cooking very very well!!! We loved the Blue Crab Ragoon App as well as the Crab Cakes. There was nothing left on the plates. For entrées we had Banana Foster Pain Perdu, Side of Duck Bacon, Hashbrown, 100% Seafood Gumbo and Fried Catfish. Everything was seasoned to perfection and hot!!! Last but definitely not least are the Cocktails which were very good. Try the Cold Brew Martini if you like iced coffee type drinks and also try the Strawberry Lemon drop for a sweet treat. Both taste great and have a nice amount of spirits in them. This is a must try in NOLA. Will definitely return!!

You have to wait in line to order/pay so depending on how difficult the group(s)/people(s) orders are ahead of you, will dictate how fast this process will go. The place is much bigger than I initially expected. There are 2 floors with seating. It would be hard to accommodate a large party but there's plenty of seating. I live the old 80's/90's theme and decor. Such a great throwback. We ordered 2 drip coffees (you get them in a to-go cups but you can get free refills), and the Grand Slam McMuffin. Both were great. Wish the sandwiches were bigger for the price you pay. $11.50 for a breakfast sandwich is pretty steep, but it's the price you pay considering everything is homemade. I would also like to point out that there is a discrepancy on the price of adding an egg. The menu says it's $2 more but we were charged $2.50. They should really update their menu or be upfront about it. Overall a great place to have a great breakfast. * Please note that you're not allowed to have someone save a table while another waits in line to order. You must order first before being allowed to take a table.

We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices!
