Tiana's Bayou is a blast! I went on it three times when our family took a trip to Disney, and every time there was something to get excited about or something that I hadn't noticed the first time! There is so much detail in the ride, and the animatronics look amazing and almost alive! I would recommend a lightning lane for this one, but it definitely depends on the time of day you go. For example, we went at 1 pm on a Wednesday and had lightning lanes (since the regular line was a 40 minute wait), but went on the weekend at 10 am and it was a 10 minute wait. You will probably get wet on this wherever you're sitting, but however, you get pretty soaked in the front row compared to the back. Don't worry though--the water feels very refreshing in that Florida heat!! PRO TIP: there's a picture on the big drop while you're going down, so look alive! Have a great time if you go on the ride! This was our first time with the water ride's new theme with Princess Tiana and her friends on the bayou. The ride to the hill is full of music, colorful scenes and a few dips. The final drop is a big one. We were placed in the front and second row ... soaked. The line queue begins outside and midway you will be indoors where you'll be treated to scenes and images related to Tiana. Like most rides you'll end seeing your group photo and gift shop. Tiana's Bayou Adventure is definitely one of my favorite rides at Magic Kingdom! Ugh, I miss Splash Mountain so much but honestly love the Princess & the Frog theme. Didn't experience too much of a wait time w/o lightning pass luckily hehe. We went on a colder day (~60°F) and we brought ponchos, so we wouldn't get too wet. Jokes on us, we still got pretty wet hahaha. I suggest doing this ride early in the morning, if you can. As well as any of the other bigger rides (Tron, Space Mountain, etc) since they didn't have much of a wait time when we went at park opening (~15-20 min wait each). HIGHLY recommend this ride & going early in the day so you can dry off throughout the day at the park!! read more

This was my first time riding Tiana's. It only took 16 minutes to get to the front of the line. I was offered the back row and did not get too wet. A gentle ride for even the oldest of Disney fans. The only thing that would make it better was to give us a real beignets at the end of the ride. read more

I've waited years...YEARS to get on this ride people! I'm not kidding when I say the last three trips I've had here, every single time. I either have a fast pass or I'm in line to get on this ride. Something goes wrong. But I am happy to say I have finally conquered Tiana's Bayou lol. And while I am a diehard Splash Mountain fan, and I'm not thrilled with what I view as an unnecessary retheming... I was pleasantly surprised how much I ended up liking the ride. I really liked that they went for a "dark ride" scene not in the sense of it being like spooky but that literally the ride is like you're going to a Louisiana bayou at night time. Just gives it that extra touch that made it feel cozy haha. If I had more time in the day. I would've tried to get on it again, but alas, here we are. I cannot wait for my next trip where I will be doing this twice at least lol! read more

Excellent water ride at Magic Kingdom. Once you get through the line, the ride itself is fun and refreshing. It's not just a quick ride with a big drop. You have a longer ride through animatronic musicals and have several smaller drops leading to the big one. Very fun. Go here and hold onto your hats. Long live splash mountain! This is one of the rides you see while you're walking around as it's so high up! My son spent a good chunk of the day scared to ride it, but overall, it was a fantastic ride. I rode it about 15 years earlier, however, I don't really remember any of the elements before the big drop, there a few bumps and hills. I love all the details of Tiana, and the Bayou. I definitely recommend using a lightning lane, or getting into the virtual queue. also 100% recommend a poncho. I stayed very dry, but everyone not wearing one got super wet. A bona fide E ticket ride! True story: I only rode Splash one time and I was traumatized because I felt the call of the void at the top of the big drop and according to my mother, she had to physically restrain me from standing up and jumping out. So I went 30 years without ever riding it again for obvious reasons. But I forced myself to get over it because Tiana's Bayou Adventure looked irresistible and I'm so glad I overcame my fear. It's truly a beautiful ride honoring New Orleans' own Miss Leah Chase. It's my favorite Disney princess movie of the 2000s and it's perfectly rendered here. Count on fun New Orleans theming throughout, with the final big scene after the drop a spectacular celebration of music, art & food. read more

The ride is still a lot of fun! Right now, it's only available via virtual queue for Walt Disney World at Magic Kingdom. You can also buy a lightning lane for this ride as well! If you get in the virtual queue, you'll get a boarding number. Once your number is called, you'll have an hour to get back to Tiana's Bayou Adventure to check-in. Full disclosure, this review is mostly based on the extreme enjoyment the chillren experienced on this ride. A bit too wet for my taste but, hey I get it, it's a water ride. Located in Magic Kingdom's Frontierland area. You enter through the offices of Tiana food company. The ride passengers are seated in a log venturing along the bayou inside and outside. You see some of the characters from the movie while moving through small drops along the way outside and a dark tunnel inside. The high drop comes after the upward ascend right after Momma Odie. I had no idea rides were on yelp! Tiana's is my favorite ride at Magic Kingdom and we've ridden it from almost every position in the log. The most magical was going right over the waterfall as the fireworks burst over top of the castle! Definitely better to do on a warm day, but we usually don't get completely drenched. Tiana's Bayou Adventure is located at Magic Kingdom in Frontierland and has replaced the former Splash Mountain. It has recently reopened and although the ride track is exactly the same, the ride is looks and feels totally different. This currently is a virtual que only attraction. This means that if you have a reservation for Magic Kingdom at 7:00am you can try and join the virtual que from the My Disney Experience App. If you are able to get into the que, it will assign you a group number. Once your group is called you have an hour to return to the line. If you cannot get a group number at 7:00am, if you are inside the park, at 1:00pm you can try again for a group number. You will need the My Disney experience app to do all of this. There is no other option at this moment to get on the ride. The ride is themed after The Princess and the Frog movie and takes you on a journey through the bayou. All the characters from the movie are a part of the ride as well as some new characters. There are many drops in this ride as well as the giant one at the end. This one you can see from the park. You do ride in a log vehicle, 4 rows with 2 seats per row. You could probably fit three with smaller adults or children in the row. As the previous name implies, you are going to get wet. There are signs throughout the que to remind you, but you will get wet possibly even soaked. The ride itself is very cute, the colors, the lights, the music, everything is very pretty. I really enjoyed this ride; I thought it was remodeled extremely well. I was a fan of Splash Mountain since it was such a classic ride, but this was an excellent reimagined ride. I actually cannot wait to get on it again. I sat in the front and was completely drenched, totally soaked. But overall, it is completely fun, we laughed the entire time. They do take a photo on the large drop at the end so be prepared. I hope that they take the virtual que away soon so we can ride it multiple times. I for sure recommend going on the ride, you will not be disappointed. I cannot say enough good things about it! Make sure to check it out next time you are in the park. read more

Tiana's is super fun they did an amazing job converting it from Splash Mountain to an entire new attraction! There's tons of singing all the lovable characters from Princess And The Frog as well as some surprises around every single turn! You will get wet as I got kinda drenched but in the hot Florida heat it felt amazing so do yourself a favor and go get wet you'll be happy you did! If you love these movies like I do then you totally will enjoy this awesome attraction as it's perfect for all ages as it's just a few drops the way a log flume should be! Overall a super fun and awesome edition to Magic Kingdom so do yourself a favor and don't pass it up on your next visit because it really is a good time from start to finish! read more

I loved it. I was actually quite curious about how the reskin for this ride was going to work. With the change from Maelstrom to Frozen they changed the route of the track at the beginning but that's not the case here. The track is exactly the same but wow is this different. Approaching the ride it honestly looks lovely now. The "mountain" is covered in flowers and greenery. The interior of the queue building is quite charming with lots of little things to look at. I had seen videos of the advanced animatronics that were going to be in the ride, but I was concerned about whether it would be like the Navi River Journey in that it has mostly screens instead of characters with one impressive animatronic at the end. That is absolutely not the case with Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Characters pop up multiple times and their range of motion is so impressive. There are screens being used, but the vast majority of the ride is practical effects. It was in the middle of the ride that I realized that I could not stop tapping my feet. I just loved the music for the ride and how the characters were interacting with it. Between this and Runaway Railway Disney has just been killing it with new ride music. There have been many reports of downtime for the attraction and my day was no different. It was down for at least three hours the day I was supposed to ride and I started to get concerned that I wouldn't be able to ride at all. When it finally did start again it was flawless for my first experience. I hope that's the case for you as well. read more

Such an amazing ride. I know I'm going to piss a few people off by saying this, but, I like this theming better than the original.

Love the updates and the new theming! It totally captures the spirit of celebration and family that Tiana was trying to capture with her restaurant! I also loved how they tied in food to the experience. No imported smells or anything, but lots of ingredients all throughout the ride. The track is still the same, and the experience is no different than before the facelift, but if anything, it's more energetic and fun. My only complaint? It needs more Dr. Facilier! In fact, it has none currently! So, they do depart from the "plot" of the original Splash Mountain (no escape from the villains before the final drop). But, that's a minor complaint. Instead of the same plot, they do make the ride their own. Again, this is a great thing, as it brings more attention to the film it's based on, and it's a very fun experience from start to finish. Definitely an improvement! I hope maybe in the future they add Facilier in some fashion, but if they don't, I won't complain. It's still quite a great time and a wonderful attraction! read more

Tiana's Bayou Adventure is the newest Magic Kingdom attraction. It has recently opened where Splash Mountain used to be. It is basically a face lift to the retired Splash Mountain. The ride is exactly the same as the previous, however, the set design is 100% different. This is a log style water ride, with two per row, four rows per vehicle. The line can get very long since it is new, and at this time, it is currently only available to ride by joining the virtual que or buying a lightening lane for additional charge. If you join the virtual que and are lucky to get a spot, it will assign you a boarding group. When your group is called, you can then enter the line. The virtual que is designed to be shorter waits in line but again, it can get pretty long. This ride will also be open during the extra parties Magic Kingdom has: Not so Scary and Very Merry Christmas Party. The ride's theme is The Princess and the Frog, which will take you on a journey through the bayou. All the characters from the movie are a part of the ride as well as some new characters. The ride itself, has many drops along with the classic giant one at the end, which can be seen from the park. As a reminder, you are going to get wet. The first row will always be the wettest row, no doubt. We went recently with some friends, I was in the back and my wife in the front row, friends in between. She was absolutely soaked when she got off. Shoes, shorts, shirt, everything was totally soaked. I myself, in the back row with another friend, we were pretty dry. A few sprinkles on our clothes but other than that, pretty dry. It really does depend on the row. The ride itself is very cute, very colorful, very light in areas, but you really feel like you are in the bayou. The music is fantastic as well, playing songs from the movie along with new songs as well. I really enjoyed this ride; I thought it was remodeled extremely well. Being a fan of Splash Mountain, this was a nice remodel. I still miss the old ride, as it was such a classic and iconic ride, but I understand why it was changed out. This ride made us all laugh, we sang along, we took photos and laughed some more. It was a really great time, and I look forward to riding it again. Haven't had the chance to ride this but had to check it out before Disney removed the VQ. I've heard mixed reviews after they re-themed it so wasn't sure what to expect. I do feel like I left more wet compared to when it was splash mountain lol- which can either be a dealbreaker for some people but personally I enjoyed it! While I am a little sad to have had to say goodbye to such an iconic part of my childhood (Splash opened the year I was born and MUCH of 1990s era WDW marketing centered on it and the songs used in Splash so for me it is quite nostalgic. Not hearing Zip playing throughout the parks is frankly a bit sad for me) I was really excited for the added greenery. Its quite pretty...Even if it does not necessarily work in terms of the surrounding land and its design, it is quite lovely to see. As a riding experience its def refreshing and adds a layer of "I really don't want to get waked by a tree branch while free falling down this drop" which is a new fun element of suspense lol. I'm also thrilled they did not use the animatronics with the projected faces - I find them to be really creepy when they are down (and the animatronics on this are down often) so huge plus for me. Right upfront please understand this ride will go down in any rain. Though if you get to experience rain starting while on the rode It's a pretty cool way to experience the ride. **If you want to get as wet as possible on this ride, sit at the front. If you want to stay as dry as possible, ask for the back. I have more tips for staying dry below so read on for those! I personally do not love the addition of screens and I think the storytelling has both pacing issues and plot holes, (not something the average visitor cares about in know but I do) but I'm honestly just thrilled that they kept the track of Splash without changing it. One additional critique I have os that post retheme, the ride breaks down significantly more than Splash ever did. Which leads me to think that like many new rides opened within the past 8 years, they are rushing to open (thanks to to the 7 year long Tron debacle) rather then preparing a ride that will last and survive years worth of daily use from guests. Don't get me wrong, Plash defiantly went down, but not nearly as often. For reference the first two time I visited after the Tiana retheme, this ride was down the entire day on both visits (both trips were well after being open for 6+ months so it wasn't just "new kinks that need to be worked out") **Parents, please watch a POV on YouTube before riding this with your children. Yes there is a height requirement, that is there for physical safety. There are more then the one BIG drop and even as someone who has ridden this ride in all variations the smaller lead up drops throughout def still get me going even when I know they are coming. So doing a little bit of research in advance to decide weather or not your child can handle this will go a long way to your have a great day at the parks instead of dealing with a scared screaming child. (trust me other guests will be thrilled you did this too) BIG TIP!!! --------------------- If visiting during the warmest months of the year, I really advocate having a change of clothes packed in my park bag to change half way through the day. There's something really refreshing about taking off your sweaty, sticky cloths and swapping for something fresh, clean and dry. Ride this ride at the hottest point of the day (between 2-5 pm typically) allow yourself to get soaked, it really is so fun!...and then go change in the bathrooms right after. You'll be cooled off by the water and then refresh further with fresh clothing. Tips for staying "as dry as possible" ----------------------------------------------------------- 1. There really isn't a way to ride this and stay completely dry without doing something really drastic and kind of ridiculous (not to mention it will hold up the ride for cast members and other guests). 2. No matter what your seat will be wet right at the start. If you wan to stay as dry as possibly, put a poncho or bag or rain coast down on your seat before sitting (move quickly though) 3. Wear a poncho - putting it on in the queue, and wear the hood up. 4. Also sitting in the back is "driest" seat. You will still probably get wet though. I wrote this in my review of Big Thunder but it also applies here: My biggest tip for BTM is to try to ride at least once in your life during the fireworks. There is something incredibly special about being on this ride (also Tiana's/Splash) and having the view of the Castle lit up with fireworks bursting over her while riding a roller coaster or taking the plunge. read more

I will say it was sad to see such a staple ride go away but Disney did a really good job with the upgrades and animatronics. The only reason why I'm giving it 3 stars and not less stars is the fact it's still the same track lay out so no matter what it's fun whether you like the change or not it's still fun. The reason why it's not more than 3 stars is the story telling on the ride is awful. The inside of the ride regarding story telling seems rushed. "Tiana's Bayou Adventure, a musical boat ride at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, follows Tiana and her friends as they prepare for a Mardi Gras celebration, seeking a missing ingredient: a band of musical critters" this story line doesn't really fit for the ride lay out. I would've loved for them to do a darker story with the magic man and have him sing ARE YOU READY with shadows chasing you up to the drop which helps you escape. Story telling is vital especially if you are trying to replace a classic. But if you like water rides, 50ft drop, a fan of Tiana's you will love the ride no matter what! read more

My overall score for this ride would be 7/10. The animatronics are cutting edge and very nice! I do think the 3D animation looks nice too. But it just doesn't feel right without a villain. Maybe the ghost of Dr Facilier could be taunting us at the lift getting ready to take us to the other side, and Mama Odie at the top would grow us back up and send Facilier back to where he came from! This is the worst disaster in Disney history. The ride has zero cohesive story, less than a fourth of the animatronics, no villain or protagonist, wide swaths of empty dead space with fake plants slapped all over to cover what beautiful sets and art they destroyed, a completely forgettable finale song, and a pointless drop tacked on with no climax. The ride cannot even operate reliably and constantly breaks down or has numerous characters frozen in place. The entire attraction feels outsourced by the lowest bidder, not the pride of Imagineering that Splash Mountain was. It was made to shill merchandising and drastically reduce upkeep cost, nothing more. They will do the same to Walt Disney's Rivers of America without shame. read more
