Gosh this is a great store. So many options. I do marine fish and grew up going here. Best aquatics shop in Charleston area, hands down. I grew up going to this store and still trust them. I do wish they had seahorse selection and macroalgae, but you can never expect stuff like that from a small store. Only little gripe is the prices. In recent years the prices really have increased, but they are a higher end store. I'd like to see more sales go on from time to time. read more

If you're looking to get fish for your kids as pets and don't have much experience with fish. THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO TO!!! They have been so helpful - not only when I was buying the fish but every time I go in to pick up some small things like food, they're always happy to answer all of my questions - and they are so knowledgeable. They're all long time employees - no kids working there for a week and then quitting. These people know and care about fish. They do all of the little things that make you want to keep coming back and supporting them. One example is just testing the water in the tank - bring in a little sample and they'll let you know if your water needs any adjustments. Honestly, I drive here from N Mt Pleasant because they are worth the trip! Oh and one more thing, their selection of fish is awesome. read more

I manage the live pets/fish of a local corporate pet store and even still for larger koi, fancy shrimp, more rare species, saltwater anything, etc... tideline it is! Super awesome place with an impressive variety of livestock and hardware with very reasonable prices. I was there looking at the betta selection as I'd been browsing a few stores for one that stuck out to me. I was there for probably around 45 minutes and I was asked several times if I was okay and needed anything. The staff are all very kind, attentive and make sure you're taken care of! So my daughter just had to have a fish tank and tank system she saw at Goodwill and the price was right so I got it for her. All we needed now we're some fish to put in there. I thought about going to Wal-Mart or PetSmart, but found Tideline Aquatics on my Yelp app. I would have never known this place existed before searching my app for a fish store. When we drove up it didn't really appear to be much on the outside, but once inside we were very impressed by the store. They carry all sorts of fresh and saltwater fish, as well as plants, corral, reefs, and other aquatic supplies and wildlife. The staff is nice and knowledable, and they helped us make the right decision for some started fish. Look forward to upgrading to a bigger tank one day and coming back for some more fish. read more

Once I was treated very bad by one of the personnel. I didn't go back for years. Then I decided to give it another chance and it was all different . They helped me with issues I had with my fish tank and were very kind, professional and knowledgeable. I kept going back with always wonderful customer service. What a difference one person can make in a business. I am glad he doesn't work there anymore and happy that they hired very very nice people. You will be hard pressed to find an aquatic store like this anywhere never mind South Carolina! The employees here are top notch and although they are pretty busy they will help you until your problem is resolved. Shawn, Chris and Scotty have gone above and beyond to help me with some issues in the first year or two of my tank being setup and I couldn't be more appreciative. The prices are comparable with other local stores and although you can find a better deal online sometimes its worth it to me to support a local fish store. Amazon, as great as they are, would probably not help me if I had a sick fish. With that said they also have fresh/salt water available, a wait list in case you are looking for a specific fish, and a customer loyalty card. read more

This was such a great experience. Not once did I feel pressured to make a purchase or rushed. They have such an assortment of everything, it's an aquatic wonderland! This place makes me wish I had the space for a salt water fish tank. I would be confident in finally embarking on creating thay ecosystem with the knowledgeable staff. Seriously, they were checking the pH levels of the tanks, knew proper care and had great suggestions. This time around we got some fantail goldfish and lilypads. We've gotten our fish here for the past 3-4 years and we love them! Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the different types of fish. One particular staff member that we thought was awesome and I think his name was Ray. He always knew what we needed and what we were looking for. Simply Impressive! It looks like a small store from the road, but is much larger inside. The lighting is mostly from the aquariums that encompass the inside, giving an eerie glow that kinda makes it look like a head-shop ( i was expecting to see some black-light posters and glass bongs) ! They carry such a vast array of fish (fresh and salt), crabs, cray, Koi, water plants, accessories, that it is impossible to list them all here! I bought two medium sized Koi with beautiful colors, and a blue dye for the pond that I built. Dad bought two water lily's. The plants and Koi are located outside the back of the building (just walk straight thru). Prices on everything is perfectly reasonable! The staff are very friendly and eager to help! I am disappointed I didn't stop here first, before I went to PetSmart! Live and Learn. read more

They have a huge selection of both fresh and salt water fish and you can tell they are all well taken care of. The staff is so friendly and knowledgable also. You can ask them anything and they'll help you out. Other than fish, they also have everything you can think of to take care of your fish. They genuinely care about their fish. They take such good care of you and the fish, plants etc...even down to the bagging process, before they hand over your fish to take home. I'm all about supporting local businesses, even putting aside my enthusiasm about local business support...Tideline's prices are very reasonable. For example: I would pay the same amount for a Peacock Cichlid fish at Tideline as I would at Petco. I'd get a fish I know is 100% healthy buying from Tideline. ++Plus++ I have genuinely helpful, professional fish knowledge anytime I need it from the Tideline staff - free of charge! "Shane" is sooo helpful & KNOWLEDGEABLE!! It's unbelievable the amount of knowledge this guy has about the fish. Great store they have a wonderful selection of freshwater fish. The staff are always happy, knowledgeable and ready to help you out.The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because they don't open earlier. They open at 12:00 on the weekdays. Its very hard for me to go in the afternoon or weekends. I wish they opened at 8:00 or even 9:00 in the morning. I only get to shop there very rarely because of this. I haven't been able to make it there yet to see the new storefront because of their hours yet but hopefully soon! read more

I get my pond supplies here and they have helped me with some issues with equipment as well. They never pressure you to buy and will take the time to help you better understand what's going on with your pond/aquarium. Nice selection of pond plants and koi.
