Wow. Bad doesn't even begin to describe this service. The guy showed up and I'm pretty sure all he did was wipe things down. My nine year old cleans the bathroom better than he does! He also said he made my bed which was odd since I had done that already. He didn't scrub the kitchen sink, didn't dust a single surface and spots that were on the floor when I left were still there upon my return. I immediately emailed the "concierge" to request a refund and was told that they wouldn't oblige but that they'd pick up the tab for the next service. Reluctantly I scheduled this for over a week later. The night before my scheduled cleaning I logged in to look at the name of the housekeeper only to find that they had canceled! But they hadn't emailed, texted, nothing. I guess I was just going to find out when they didn't show up? Look, I wanted to believe that all of the bad reviews were irrational people looking for reasons to whine but I've never seen anything like this. Well using this service was truly a lesson in customer service. Their house keepers are mostly inexperienced and untrained. We had one person, a male house keeper, who was inappropriate and even threatened my wife. After exchanging emails with the management (they do not offer phone support; Tidy's explanation was this is too costly), we were provided with 'credit' towards a future cleaning. We took one more chance, requesting a female house cleaner. This person damaged our microwave by using an abrasive cleaner on the key pad. The cleaner's comment was they never had an issue using this type of detergent in the past. When we brought this next incident to management, their response was 'we do not compensate for 'premium' items' (the over top of stove microwave being a premium item) and that even then, any compensation would be in the form of credit for future cleanings. Our concern was that an even more costly item might be damaged during a subsequent cleaning. We've decided to call it a day, repair the microwave on our own dime, and not use Tidy again. read more

My housecleaner was late and did a mediocre job. Specifically asked her to vacuum and mop the floors, yet only vacuuming was done. She also seemed preoccupied with getting on my wi-fi network because she "wasn't getting any signal" - not sure why she needs my wi-fi when here to clean. To top it off, I checked my credit card statement a few days later and found that I was double-charged for the cleaning. Emailed them and have not heard back, and there doesn't appear to be any way to delete my credit card info or close my account from their website's account management. I should have read the reviews here before trying them out - lesson learned! EDIT: The double-charge on my credit card was actually Tidy charging me in advance for my *next* cleaning. Their business model is somewhat akin to, say, a magazine subscription where you effectively "subscribe" and have to cancel it or else they'll keep charging you on an ongoing basis. To be fair, I think they're pretty clear about this when you're signing up, but they make it hard for you to cancel because you have to email them directly to have your credit card info removed. read more

Wish I'd visited yelp before hiring them. I was having a big party at my house, and thought I'd treat myself to someone else doing my floors and bathrooms. I scheduled the 2.5 hour/1 person cleaning. Then I immediately contacted their "concierge" to specify what cleaning I wanted. I work out of the home and my husband works from home, so I wanted to be clear what I wanted, and specified that my husband was to be interrupted as little as possible, as he works. Sent a very clear list. Day of the cleaning, a guy shows up and says "Look, I'm only doing what I can do in 2.5 hours and whatever doesn't get done, doesn't get done". My husband showed him around the house and started to go back to work. Guy says "Um, I need you to tell me what to do". Husband: "My wife sent a list". Guy: "Yeah, I don't want to have to keep checking my phone, so you're going to have to work with me here" Husband gives him some direction and hangs out. This guy pretended to sweep the floors and pretended to partially dust, then continued to CHECK HIS PHONE AND TEXT PEOPLE the rest of the time. He would spend about 3 minutes in each room, then move on. Finally, my husband sent him home an hour before the time was even up, as the guy wasn't doing ANYTHING. I emailed Tidy and was told I could reschedule a makeup cleaning and that I was getting a $75 "credit". It was not a credit, nor was it a refund, it was just a makeup cleaning. I expressed that I would need the makeup cleaner to come the next day, as I had planned a party and didn't schedule time for cleaning floors and dusting because I was relying on Tidy to do it. I was informed that i'd have to schedule the new cleaning myself....and the next available spot was over a week away. I asked them to cancel my account and refund my money. No refund. The woman who arrived was either high or sleep walking. In 2.5 hours she cleaned 2 bathrooms and the floors of a 1100 Sq foot home. At any moment, I would find her standing in a corner starting at me like she was lost or didn't really understand the job was to clean the house. She moved so painstakingly slow that I ended up cleaning the kitchen, stripping the beds, and starting all laundry because it was so evident she was barely going to be able to figure out how to find the 2nd bathroom, leave alone act as if she had any work ethic at all. I returned an hour later to find the beds unmade. She couldn't even figure out how to put sheets back on a bed after I had washed and dried them. I will never use your service again and I will share this with everyone I know who uses your service. I have never written a letter of dissatisfaction in my life. However, this was such horrible service is borders on surreal. Clean it up! read more

We called Tidy and set up a regular bi-weekly housecleaning. When the time came for the first appointment, no one showed up. Our home phone rang about 15 minutes later, but all we heard was music - no voice, no explanation of why they were late - nothing. After an hour we called the number back and got the same music, but no communication. Then we tried texting them at the same number and got a message back saying they didn't recognize our number so therefore they wouldn't accept our text message. The bottom line was: no one came, no one gave us an explanation and they charged our credit card $90. I called AMEX and they credited my account, then initiated an investigation. Then later we got a credit from Tidy for $45 - half of the initial charge. Somehow they managed to convince AMEX that we were the ones in the wrong - they couldn't find our house, they called us and we didn't answer, so they kept half our money as a "cancellation fee". They don't have a phone number on their website and don't offer phone support, only email support. They are very slow to respond to email - they are impossible to communicate with. I consider them totally untrustworthy - if you want your house cleaned and you are considering Tidy: caveat emptor. Who wants to do business with ANY company that won't even provide a telephone number where you can call them? read more

I am glad I hired TIDY before reading some of the reviews. I have had TIDY now for 3 months. I was on the 1 hr a week plan until recently. The first house keeper I had was super sweet and did a great job. As a single mom who works full time and has animals, my house can look like something of a train wreck sometimes. Obviously she couldnt clean the whole house in an hour, but she would help be get things to a manageable state. That house keeper took herself off the schedule (boo!) and I decided to change plans. I new housekeeper showed up today and did a fantastic job as well. I have not really had to deal with customer service- I do most of my communication online, but for the price and the thoroughness of the cleaners, I am totally happy. read more

My first experience was easy and the housekeeper was excellent. Every experience after that has been awful. The next 2 appointments cancelled within minutes of their arrival time. The 3rd showed up but did a very fair job totally opposite of my first experience. The 4th person, cancelled and the 5th reschedule appt booked never showed up or contacted me. I have one last appointment tomorrow morning and we'll see how that goes - if I find a good housekeeper, I will change my review. The process has been irritating when I had such an incredible experience the first time. They have a great concept but no ability to speak to a live customer service rep that I have found. They keep offering money off for my bad experiences but rearranging my schedule and having 4 no-shows total is a ridiculously poor average. Do it at your own risk. There was an older guy in our neighborhood "passing out" fliers. When I say that, what I mean is he would get reasonably close to someone's door and fling the flier in the general direction. I made him pick up a lot of the trash he was flinging around, but there was a language barrier and he was old, I didn't want to kill him. Between the two of us we picked up over 200 fliers, more than half from under/inside bushes, under cars, out in the grassy areas, even in the middle of the road. I am a first time customer and scheduled a cleaning several days in advance as I have an out of town guest coming and wanted everything to be perfect. The morning of my cleaning, I logged on to the website just to double check my scheduled time. It was then that I saw my housekeeper was unavailable and that they were looking for a substitute--I did not received a phone call, text, or e-mail. It was just by chance that I saw the message on the website. Anyway, 20 minutes before my scheduled time, I finally received a text stating that my housekeeper was not available. I got the Tidy plus. 2.5 hours of cleaning to clean my small 300 sq foot studio apartment. The apartment was empty and I was just trying to get it cleaned before moving out. Everything could of been cleaned immaculate in this time frame. Unfortunately they didn't bother to open up cabinets and wipe the empty shelves. Or clean out the oven. When you pay to get professional cleaning you should recieve that. I didn't recieve professional cleaning. The company offered a discount on my next cleaning. What a joke. Never using this service. My first time using a cleaning service and I won't be using one ever again. I Paid 50$ for an hour of cleaning all I asked for was the dishes to be done and put away and floors swept and mopped and living room floors mopped and bathroom to be cleaned up. First of all she didn't speak English, and she was very old. I saw her cleaning the floors with a towel ? The floors are still dirty and very sticky and gross so whatever she used didn't work. She also left dirty dishes on the stove and the counter and never even got to my bathroom. Kris, from Tidy, reached out to me after my previous review and was very apologetic and offered to provide me with a complimentary upgraded cleaning to try and right things. The cleaners showed up at my home and did a fabulous job over the past two visits (this past month). They have been very friendly, accommodating, and thorough and I will continue to use Tidy. Their staff seems to be hard working and genuinely customer-focused so despite the initial issues, I would recommend Tidy. This is the absolute worst cleaning company, but also just company in general, that I have ever worked with. Over the span of 4 months, I had ZERO success with a cleaner showing up. I had ONE success with a backup cleaner showing up, who came 3.5 hours later than I was notified she would. The cleaner who did show up did a terrible job. I have no idea what she was doing other than sweeping and texting. I could hear typing on her phone and the text message notifications going off constantly. Nothing was dusted, mopped, or cleaned well. I live in a 1200 sqft 2bed/2bath and paid for the 4-hr TIDY+. She was nice, but overall, she spent 4 hours sweeping my floors. It seems she ran a cloth over all the sinks and surfaces, but must've not used any type of cleaning agent whatsoever. There was a fine layer of dust and dirt all over everything when she was done. There were items on my specific "TIDY To Do's" list that they ask you create... she didn't do a single one, not dusting window sills or baseboards, along with NUMEROUS other things. To top it all off, their customer support, Jessica specifically, is absolutely awful. This business needs to be reported to the BBB and be shut down for robbing people of their time, energy, and money. read more

My first tidy cleaning was very good (not excellent). I have a tiny place that (when I could move around better) I could probably clean in about 45 minutes. The last two times I've used Tidy they have done only vacuuming and (I think) swept the floors. Left bed unmade. Left bath and toilet untouched, dusting was minimal, cleaner wasn't wearing a mask until I asked her to. Very bad vacuuming. Left coffee pot and the 4 dishes in the sink undone. I had left a 25% tip because I know these are tough times, but this was ridiculous. Not a half ounce of effort to do anything other than the bare minimum. I guess this is because I am only once a month and only pay for one hour, but I could have done as much myself in five minutes. The only reason I continued with Tidy is because I felt that people need to work in these times and I can't reach tough corners. But I'm done. read more

I've sent an email because there is no phone number to call which should have tipped me off this is not a real company Just a scam service (no service) to get your money. I requested a refund of my $75 and also told them to cancel my membership. In reading the reviews I am suspecting I will not see the refund. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and my attorney generals office. WASTE! I scheduled a deep clean TIDY service at my home. I paid $275.00 online before the cleaners arrived. The house was not that dirty, but I wanted to treat myself to a 4 hour cleaning service (as I had guests coming) and I thought it was a reputable company. When the cleaners left, my oven burners were ruined, by their cleaning products, beds were unmade, upstairs in the home hadn't even been touched! My house is a standard 4 bedroom home. They did very little and snuck out without finishing anything, while I was busy with a conference call with my boss. If I could give a zero, I would. Set up a major cleaning as I was throwing a company holiday party at my home. Scheduled this weeks in advance. Paid the $250 to hold appointment. Appointment confirmed day in advance. Cut to the day of the party- The appointment was scheduled for 930 in the morning. At 9:25 I get an email and a text that one of the two cleaners was not going to show up. Five minutes later at the scheduled arrival time I get a text there's no replacement available. We had one cleaner instead of two for a major party event. The cleaner that came was nice but in no way could get through the amount of work needed for the party. When I came home the lady had finished her time and has yet to clean any of my floors. Super fun to have to mop all my floors and finish kitchen clean up instead of getting ready. I love a two minute shower and hair in a bun for a big event. Guess what happened next, the $250 was only a deposit that I would have to request a refund for and they charged my credit card an additional $125 for the cleaner that showed!!!!When I wrote them a complaint they offered a whopping $25 credit to use for a future cleaning. Seriously??? So I said that was absolutely ridiculous and they gave me a whole $20 more of credit. They wrote "we have additionally given you a $20 credit, enough for a complimentary cleaning. I refunded that amount back to your credit card too." Thought hey, maybe I'll use that credit towards another try rather than leave it on the table. Checked my account day before scheduled cleaning says I have $45 credit and my $250 refundable credit still there. Ok, set up a now, $149 instead of $125 cleaning. Then guess what??? They took the whole $149 off my deposit. What happened to that "give us another shot credit?" Emailed again and they refuse to stand by it saying it was a confusion. But did offer another $10 credit promo. Fool me once... you know the saying. Worst company ever. They leave you hanging and don't stand by their word. U can't speak to anyone and then when YVette shows up just complains about her co-workers being on drugs , stealing and offers me her own side business card bc the tidy company doesn't pay well enough. She said she was on a timer she had one hour but pursed a 15 min conversation about complaints on tidy. She barely wiped the counters didn't touch the microwave and mopped my tile floor with a tshirt on a swiffer rod. She brought a vacuum loaded with god knows what the filter was filled to the max and I'm just plain disgusted with this service . It was absolutely AWFUL. I booked a 4 hour deep clean and the guy was late, then left after 2 hours, brought no supplies with him and cleaned almost NONE of the entire apartment. 4 hours was supposed to actually be more time than needed for this job and the apartment was actually left dirtier than he found it with black streaks across all shelves, photos, and appliances because he was clearly wiping things down with a dirty rag. It was abhorrent and the customer service matched the job. I've sent tens of emails and no one will respond with a refund for a job not done at all. I initially just asked for them to send someone out to finish the job, knowing I wouldn't be using them again, but when they offered a $100 credit (that does not cover a cleaning) as the alternative, I requested full refund and explained I hav no interest in making the same mistake twice.
