If you're looking for a place for dinner, I'd skip this one. We ordered the tater tots and a prime rib dip sandwich, and unfortunately, the food was a big disappointment. The tater tots looked delicious, but they were probably some of the worst I've ever had. They had a really unpleasant aftertaste and seemed to have no seasoning or salt whatsoever. We asked our waitress if they had Cajun seasoning or something similar, but she said they didn't. She did bring us some salt, but even that couldn't fix the strange aftertaste. We ended up not eating them. The prime rib dip was just okay. We were told we could get mushrooms, but apparently it was a no, and it was also supposed to have horseradish, which ours didn't have. Karaoke started while we were there, which isn't really our scene, so we finished up and left. The disappointing part is that the restaurant itself looked clean and nice, and I really wanted to like it. Unfortunately, the food just wasn't good enough for us to come back. read more

Stopped by for late lunch. He had fresh fried fish with fries and pasta salad. Fish was tasty and so were the fries. I had a Cobb salad with chicken breast that has the best cherry tomatoes in it with lots bacon bits and black olives and red onions and sliced cucumber, a sliced egg and lots of bleu cheese and bleu cheese dressing. My friends and I have visited Tie Breakers for karaoke during our girls' trips for a while, but our most recent experience will be our last. Unfortunately, the owner was incredibly rude to us, other customers, and even her own staff. It was unprofessional to see her drinking while working, and even her husband seemed clearly embarrassed by her behavior. At one point, when my friend and I were at the bar, the owner yelled at my friend to "move out of the way." Later, when she asked for our drink orders, she snapped at my friend for needing a moment to decide, rudely telling us, "I don't have all day." Additionally, the food was a major disappointment; we couldn't even finish the prime rib sandwich, as the meat was tough, dried out, and of poor quality. It is a shame, as we have always enjoyed the karaoke host and found her husband to be very kind. However, we prefer to spend our time in a friendly, welcoming environment rather than dealing with such an unpleasant atmosphere and subpar food. read more

We have been to Tie Breaker many times over the past year. Food has always been mediocre, but others seem to enjoy it more than myself. Service has always been hit or miss. Lately service has gone downhill in my opinion. While there are friendly people working here, I can no longer deal with the attitude of the owner/server, Nancy. If she's having a bad day, beware! You will be made to feel as if you are a bother. Rude, rude!! Exactly why she is in the hospitality industry if she dislikes people so much? I will no longer deal with her BS. We had to ask what beers were on top and also didn't see a drink menu so she looked back and read the taps to us. She got our cold beers out quickly and was on top of our orders. Rockaway Beach is an adorable beach town! This morning we walked over to Tie Breaker....a small sports pub....to have breakfast. The breakfast sandwich was excellent, as well as, the traditional sausage and eggs. Ask for Dana! She's fun and very quick....and her positive energy is a great way to start your Saturday morning!
