We loved the look of this place inside, very warm and welcoming, rustic decor and the music was perfect for a family restaurant / sports bar if you like 70/80s classic rock. The service was very good, and fast. We didn't quite get through shooting pool (free) before the food was served! We had been out to find fish and chips the night before in another nearby town, were served portions that looked like child plates. So we were happy to be served a decent amount, plus had enough to take back to the campsite for later. My only suggestion might be to put some color, maybe flower baskets, or planters in half barrels, out front along the main road. The place is easy to miss and hard to tell if it's open for business if there are few cars there. The view out back to the lake is beautiful! read more

Very disappointed. I will not be coming back here ever! Called in an order for pickup and was told it'd be ready in 10-15 minutes. i get there within 15 minutes and waited 20 more minutes to get my order. Customer service was not great either. Nobody welcomed me when I arrived. I was standing at the counter for a few minutes before someone finally asks if I'm there for a "to go" order. Food was not good either. We spent nearly $50.00 plus tip and threw over half of it away. The fish was so smelly and the chowder was almost brown looking and salty like it was simmering all day. I will not come back here as it was a total waste of money and I was extremely disappointed from the point of entering the establishment to trying to consume the food at the hotel. There are more options nearby that are wonderful and better priced and if your looking for awesome hamburgers then go try Shaun's SmashBurgers! Wow! read more

To start, I'm a local, who has been a patron for over two years straight, and spent a good deal of time and money at this establishment. That is, in part, why my latest interaction was mind blowing to me! The bartender, Jason, who didn't recognize me, after being a patron for four+ years (possibly inebriated??), ran me out of the bar because I started casually shooting pool balls around, without ordering a drink, because I was waiting on friends to show up, and I didn't want to start drinking by myself lol. ‍ The amount of money I've spent over the years, along with always trying to keep a mellow, responsible vibe, should more than compensate... I have always taken the time to recommend this place to all of the tourists, both winter and summer because I've rarely had anything but good vibes there. The sad thing is, I had every intention of staying and drinking/playing pool once my friends showed up, but Jason acted like he had no idea who I was, even after I tried jogging his memory! He kicked me out by treating a loyal, local, regular patron, like I was some homeless guy who wandered in!! Also, as the local budtender at the best dispensary in the area, I regularly referred customers to this place....I don't think I will be, moving forward. PS...The food is average at best. read more

Call an order in to go thinking it would be a wait since the takeout menu said to expect a 30 minute wait time. It was ready in 15 minutes. Both Pizzas were good, not great but it was decent. Prices are ok. The young lady that took my order was nice and very friendly. She was obviously the one that handed my order since she said my name as I walked in. The bartender was the rudest person I've ever encountered in my life. We showed up thirty minutes before closing to have a 1 drunj and play 1 round if pool, she refused to let us play pool. As soon as we walked in, she told us "ten minutes until closing" then went out for twenty minutes to smoke her cigarette! her name was Cheryl. Food was actually decent. The description is definitely off though, it's a dive bar not a sit down family restaurant. Waitress was awesome, so this isn't where the 1 star is coming from. One of my buddies ordered the fish and chips on their menu, which is front and center on the pamphlet they give you, as if it's their main item. He ordered it, and we then visibly heard "He ordered the fish and chips? That's bullshit." Sounded like it was a pain in the ass for them to make one of their main menu items. He then served it to my friend personally, taunting him with "excellent choice" and then turning away and saying bullshit again. Said fish and chips looked subpar too, like they'd been microwaved. Best New Year's Eve and dive bar ever. Places like this are the backbone of America. They pour their drinks strong so come thirsty, not the best food but that's how I like my dive bars. This is complete bullshit, The waitresses had promised us to serve us in 5 minutes, but instead me and my wife and kids had waited 45 god damn minutes and we had lost our patience. The other customers had received their food way before us even though they had gotten there after us. I find this restaurant a total mess. Staff and bartenders are good, but bew management is garage. On slow days they are mediocre at best. Weekend in the summer they can function. Multiple time we've tried to go in for karaoke, one night all the staff quit and the other their computer broke. "what's up?" is how we were greeted after waiting for 10 minutes by the please wait to be seated sign. The young brunette who decided to make an appearance was very rude.. greeting us with a "what's up" like seriously... um we are here for dinner. her response was oh well sit anywhere except the bar (i was with my daughter) I was appalled at the lack of service and decided if the greeting was so rude I couldn't imagine the food being any better, so we left. we went to the Pirates Cove down 101 and were treated like royalty and had some amazing foot too. Service was inviting and friendly. The fish is perfect with fries. The coleslaw is delicious and obviously homemade. Probably some of the best I've ever had. If I could give 0 stars I would. My daughter's and I were met with uncomfortable stares and gestures from 2 older men here and when we asked them to please stop, the behavior continued and the woman they were with joined in and began calling us inappropriate names. We made the assistant manager aware as well as the bartender and were assured it would be handled. Them handling it was telling us that these people were "local" and the behavior was excused. When the behavior continued and we again tried to address the situation, we were told we had to leave. This establishment is apparently comfortable with the harassment of women. To start out it was very full and very loud, with a lack of workers. There was one girl serving and taking orders. She would mess them up and would wait forever to check on people. We asked for the bill atleast 4 times before even getting it. The food seemed fine however there was hair on and inside of it. My experience was very triggering for my ocd and anxiety. Was in at 6:00 on a Thursday evening. Despite the fact this place has a solid 3 here on Yelp, we tried it based on a FB group suggestion. It was... totally and completely underwhelming in all aspects. Firstly, the service was poor. The wait staff did not seem to know where they were waiting, nor had a clear idea of the drink menu, and couldn't get our order straight - even though they were inputting it directly into a handheld device. And it wasn't like they were busy... for a seemingly large(-ish) place, it was less than half full. They brought my wife the wrong beer to start with - then they brought the correct drink out in an obviously uncleaned glass: there were chunks of lemon residue floating in it and stuck to the sides. And even though most of our four dinners could be considered finger foods (fish and chips; clam chowder; grilled cheese sandwich; chicken strips; clam strips) - there was no silverware on the table, nor was any brought - with the exception of a spoon for the chowder. The food was commonplace. Cole slaw that came with the fish and chips was tasteless... They also placed my son's chicken strips in front of me and said "okay! Here's your clam strips." They were obviously not clam strips... The clam chowder was meh: the texture and consistency was fine, but tasted like a bland white sauce. Despite the fact that the seafood baskets say they are severed with dipping sauce, the menu did not list the options, nor did the wait staff. After the food was brought out, someone asked if I wanted any side sauce - but again did not list the choices. I guessed, and then waited for a side of tarter sauce. Also - the place bills itself as a "family restaurant and sports bar" - there were large TVs mounted all over the place, but none of them were on. Disappointing. Positives: The kids menu was alright. The kids enjoyed their food. The fries were good. The food came relatively quickly. Unsure: They MAY have comped our beers? (because of the dirty glass) But, it's hard to tell since no one mentioned it... it could have just as easily been an oversight on the bill - as was an extra order of fries which we did not order. read more

Got food to go...the young man Nathan who took my order over the phone was wonderful! Very polite and made sure to read the order back making sure everything was correct! This is our family's go to restaurant in Rockaway and are always happy with it....Thank you Nathan for doing such a great job and to the rest of the staff for working so hard. The other reviewers are right, service is not the best here but I will defend the poor servers....they are super short staffed because they can't get anyone to apply. The town is having a shortage of workers for a myriad of reasons, some covid related, some cost of living related. So, I get that as tourists we want to come in on vacation and have good food and have good service but remember that these people are humans like you and I and are overworked and probably underpaid. With that being said, the night we came in, our server was very harried and rushed but you could tell she was trying to keep it together and be pleasant. Service was disjointed but the server apologized and we could see she was the only server for most of the restaurant which was jam packed. The food was meh. Not the best, but not the worst. The clam chowder was VERY good. Prices were what you would expect for a tourist town. It was an ok experience. read more

The waitress was friendly and attentive. He ordered the fried oysters which came with tater tots and coleslaw. I ordered the fish and chips. My husband was amazed our food arrived so quickly. My husband took two bites and thought it tasted okay. However, with each bite it got worse. He said he never tasted such bad food. His 6 fried oysters, tater tots and coleslaw cost $17!
