This bar is just across from the Garbaldi Hotel and we decided to try for dinner. Had the vegie burger with onion rings and husband had cheeseburger with fries-was very good- the waitress nice and they have a policy where they hold your card until finished as they've had people I guess too drunk to pay- anyways we didn't mind. Had no idea this place was not open to people to just eat if they are under 21. All other yelp reviews said it was fine. Sat down for 10 minutes before being cussed out by an employee when asked to state age (was not rude in the slightest). Went to this dive on a Thursday afternoon 2:30 or so. It's a small place where locals rule. I definitely was noticed as I walked in and took a seat at the bar away from all the regulars The bartender was nice and super attentive. He made me a great burger and fries that was possibly a frozen patty. Nothing special but still satisfying for a Thursday afternoon. It was clean and the service was quick and friendly. Went for lunch on Friday 7/14 and my husband and I split the burger that has the egg on it with fries and he got a side salad- this was more than enough food. Sat outside with friends that also got burgers. Food was REALLY good- beer was cold. Service was okay- bartender lady was okay friendly and there were a bunch of regulars hanging out on bar stools. There was some degree of snickering when your group rolled up to the ghost hole - I mean, come on, it's called the "ghost hole" - but Ray can't keep his shit together, even now, when you're around other people. "Ghost hole," he giggles, "fuckin' ghost hole -" You're pretty sure you saw some ears perk up, and the salty-looking locals at the bar don't really seem like the types that would appreciate Ray's kind of humor. The bartender doesn't seem to mind though, as he walks your food order over to your table, balancing a fairly impressive number of fish and chips and burger baskets in his arms. It's not the best burger, but you weren't expecting the best - all you wanted was a place to sit down and relax after 4 hours of driving, and you know what? You found it. The burger is fine. The fries are also fine. The fish is also fine. You're really pretty okay with everything, actually, and you glance around at the nautical decorations as Ray giggles his way through variations on the 'ghost' theme. "Ghost burger with ghost fries. Ghost basket. Haunted fish and chips!" Oh boy. Here comes a particularly big dude, wanders his way over to the table, leans in a little closer than you'd expect. Is this guy gonna be trouble? You're going to kill Ray once you get him back in the car. "Hey. You all got any tattoos?" ...what? You stare as Ray and the newcomer both extend their arms, revealing unreasonably similar vulture tattoos. How - is this really happening right now? Oh yes, of course, now Mister X and Ray are best friends. You take another swallow of beer and stare on in wonderment. "Have a good night," he says, before sauntering on out the door. Yeah okay. Suppose it's review time, stopped in last night 4/10/15 and it wasn't too terribly busy. The Karaoke was in full swing and my bf got up and there and did his share. The KJ seemed like a really nice mellow guy. I really enjoyed burning a couple of hours here. Interesting and unique decor. Love when we find a place like this. Bartender was very friendly and on top of it (cute too) but I digress. BF had the burger, which I photographed and I had the fries with aujus dip (that comes with the French Dip.) One of the few place if not the only that is open late. At least until after midnight, which is plus in a small town. I really enjoyed that. They make the bar staff cook. It doesn't work on a busy night. I am ok with a snarky bartender but this place takes it too far. The very young bartender was taking random (and slightly demeaning) instruction from an older woman drinking at the bar. I can only assume she was an owner. All fine except the bartender was way overworked and super cranky -- to the point where I felt she ignored us because we customized a burger. So sad -- I want to love this place. We arrived in town @ 9:30 pm. Every eatery was closed except the Ghost Hole Public House. It turned out to be a very pleasant surprise! Clean, relaxing, Local!! Only fried foods were available as the grill closed at 9:00. Food was still great! read more

First of all, I love the name of this place! My BFF and I came to the coast for the weekend to just do nothing but relax... We had no idea what was in store for us. Google told us this was one of the few places that was open and serving food, (since everything closes at 7 around here). We rolled in on Saturday night to this perfectly divey bar that just happened to have karaoke! And do I love me some karaoke! I didn't get the KJs name but she was awesome! We had a freaking blast! The locals were very welcoming, the servers were super sweet, the food was meh (frozen, mass produced fish for the fish & chips? C'mon! You're on the Oregon coast!) Definitely would recommend popping in to this joint, especially if you want to unleash your inner Mariah, Shania or Garth. read more

I stepped into the Ghost house at about 10pm on a weekday. I checked into our hotel room up the road after a long journey. I knew that finding food in a sleepy beach town after 9pm was only leaving few options but that we usually found success with grabbing some savory pub food. We pulled up super hungry and really just wanted to go back to our room. I thought I'd order real quick and we'd be on our way and be full in no time. I was greeted with a spotlight camera in motion as I walked to the door...creepy, but I get it... Appeared to maybe have been a dive bar at one point that they covered in wood and slapped some trendy light fixtures in to give it a facelift. It was clean and quiet. All the chairs were up and there was 1 woman sitting at the bar eating. Wasn't sure if she was a customer or worked there. I smiled and asked if they were still serving food. The woman told me fried foods only. It's only 10pm, and a bar only serves a small portion of items at that hour?? Weird...I ordered 2 meals to go. Chicken strips and tots. The tots were...well, Tots... The chicken strips were resembling something out of the school lunch cafeteria. Not sure if ranch was the only option for sauce, but that's what she threw in there. Unsure if the rest of their usual pub fare (I had anticipated getting a simple French dip) is as subpar as the disappointing "fried items" but it might be worth another look before 10pm...or whenever they stop serving real food... read more

Great little bar named after the ghost hole fishing spot. Clean inside and they have Lottery so you can do a little gambling on the slots while you hang! The bar tender made this spot he was awesome and engaging and we had a great time. They do have some food. (Burgers etc) but we did not eat anything so can't comment but the onion rings looked amazing! read more

Best place EVER! Dawn is the bestest. The owner, Becky does so much for our local community. They take care of everyone so well (locals & tourists). Best hangout on the Oregon Coast only 1 mile from the one & ONLY Garibaldi Marina! Only access to the Pacific Ocean for many miles. read more

They have outside seating but is not dog friendly so don't go there if you want to bring your pup.

I've lived in garibaldi for 3 years and have gone to the Ghost Hole about 10 or 11 times. The burgers are excellent. The beer and liquor selection is good, and the prices are fair. The service, however, has gotten pretty bad over the past 7-8 months...to the point that we had to walk out the other night because no one waited on us. We had been there for close to 10 minutes and no one came out of the back to acknowledge us. This place is just a local watering hole, not some hip or trendy nightspot...we don't expect amazing service. We do, on the other hand, expect to be treated like customers. I'm sure I'll be back because there aren't many choices in this town. But, I can't recommend this establishment to anyone else. read more

After spending much of the Fall season driving by this place, I was dying to get in and check it out. Me and my girl finally stopped in for some burgs n' beer. The dark wood slats and cool "Ghost Hole" signage right in the heart of Garibaldi had piqued my interest for too long. There was a nice L-shaped bar and circular tables surrounding a few support beams in the middle of the room with people watching the game on one of the many TV's hanging above. We chose a table over near the windows facing the street. They had some folding tables and chairs tucked back in the corner and a vacuum cleaner along with some other knick-knacks which were sort of a visual let-down at first. The food was great and service was great! The burger was served on a plate full of fries and other fixings with a knife straight down through the middle. The burger was juicy and cooked to perfection on a doughy roll made right across the street at the local bakery. I had a nice, tall, cold draft accompanying my food as usual. There was just one little girl working behind the bar, but she was right on top of everyones service and constantly looking over to see if we needing anything. Well done on her part! This is a great place to warm up after a day out fishing on the bay or even if just passing through on your way along the coast. read more

The Ghost Hole is a friendly place located in Garibaldi. It's also the only bar from Rockaway through Tillamook that's open from midnight to 2:30am. So if you're looking to go out, any day of the week, and your in Tillamook, Bay City, Garibaldi, Oceanside or Rockaway, this is the only bar open late. The staff's all really nice, and super professional, the grill stays on pretty late. The Pork Rinds aren't on the menu, but they're really really good! Pear Whiskey! OMG. Nuff said about that, order a shot! Watchout for the male bartender though, I ordered a shot of that not to long ago and he added cran... why? I don't know, but it's not a shot once you go pouring juice in it, a fact he disagreed with. Anyway, all of the late night bartenders are a lot of fun. Foods great, a bit more upscale than most coastal bars. There's kareoke a couple nights a week, Saturdays for sure. The best part in my opinion though is the backyard patio. There are water features, tables, it's just beautiful! They don't take orders out there, but you can smoke, so give and take there i guess. I don't smoke so I'd rather they took orders ;). They could also really benefit from live music. The bar has a pool table, video poker machines and chalk that you can write on the walls with in the ladies room. read more

The Ghost Hole is one of those places that I would guess few tourists would venture in to, but we did and I was pleased. My wife and I were on the Oregon coast for a few days and were looking for a burger and a cold one to end our day of driving up and down Hwy 1. The Ghost Hole Public House looked like a place we'd find both and we were right. Cold beer served quickly, burgers that were above average and not served so quickly, and some good conversation with the locals who I assume were the regular crowd. I felt like I was at Garibaldi's version of Cheers and we felt right at home. Will definitely wander in there again if we make it back. read more
