We really enjoyed Tien. Our bartender, Kim, was very good and knowledgeable. The seaweed salad was so good we opted for a second helping. While we enjoyed the lobster dumplings, they weren't our favorite. The tabiko was awesome as was the Rainbow Roll. The Chow Ho Fun was recommended but neither of us thought it was flavorful enough. Such a disappointment. The place is beautiful. The menu looks interesting. Unfortunately, service was mediocre at best. I ordered tea. A pot and empty cup were brought to the table and placed so far away from me I had to get up to reach it.. The seaweed salad (wakame) was the worst I ever had. It had an odd, unfamiliar taste. I was planning on ordering the Lobster Dumpling appetizer but my waitress talked me out of it, saying she didn't like it because it was fishy. I decided to play it safe with a spicy salmon roll. I had high hopes for Tien. I came here immediately after attending a concert and found a completely empty restaurant. I was seated at the worst table in the empty restaurant near a very active kitchen door. I gave my order and then proceeded to over half an hour without ever being acknowledged by my server again. I watched food come to diners who had just arrived. I ended up leaving and I certainly won't come back. I'm not sure why this occurred. The *only* reason why I'm omitting one star is because the portion size seemed small[er] than other hibachi/teppanyaki restaurants that I've been to. Made reservations for 9:00 PM on a weeknight and it was lovely and quiet. We started off with some drinks (plum wine and saki) and were seated promptly. Pros: - The service. The service. THE SERVICE. - I had the filet and sea scallops, cooked to perfection. - My bestie had the NY Strip and it was delicious. - You have a choice of soups... wonton, hot and sour, miso, and egg drop. - The prices are comparable with most other Asian hibachi/teppanyaki/sushi restaurants. - No need to really dress up. I wore a nice v-neck wrap shirt with jeans and heels. Cons: - Smaller portions than other comparable restaurants. - People do bring their children (there was a screamer at another table). All-in-all, it was a great experience, the food was sublimely superb, the drinks weren't expensive ($7.00/glass for plum wine, $13 for a large hot saki), specialty cocktails are available, fabulous service, and an thoroughly enjoyable ambience. I would suggest avoiding the 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM rush and make later reservations (through Open Table) for dinner. The parking garage SUCKS...tight quarters. Watch out for Billy Bob's trailer hitch sticking off his 78 Ford, it will redecorate your Hyundai Lots of dead-ends in there, too. Stupid. Anyways...yeah, food was OK. And expensive. My wallet felt raped. Honestly, Hibachi Express in GPT was just as good, and WAAAAY cheaper. Plus it's right by Wal Mart so you can go people-watch after. My food was amazing, and the service is top notch. Everyone saying it was so expensive must have forgotten that this is a four diamond restaurant. Also, you didn't have to pick the most expensive thing on the menu, the menu has something for everyone's price range, my pad thai was only $13 and my salt and pepper tofu (the most amazing thing I've ever put in my mouth) was only $11 and I left with half of each, I was just being gluttonous and couldn't decide on one, so I got both! We also got the custard trio for dessert and OH. MY GOD. it was DELICIOUS! That jasmine creme brulee is incredible! I highly suggest giving them a try! read more

My husband and I LOVE Tien. Moving from San Francisco was difficult considering there is no other really good Thai food in the area. When we discovered Tien, we were SO happy. The service is just amazing, and we are very picky about good service so that is saying a lot. The staff goes above and beyond to make your dinner feel very relaxing, and to make you feel special. Our favorite hibachi chef is Voo (sp?) as he is so cool and sweet. The management always treats us really well as we are always sure to share with them our likes about our service. When you share with them that you had exceptional service, we were told they actually give the particular employee "bonus compensation" which is really great. I could go on and on about how much we love Tien, but now I made myself hungry and I must go forage for some food =) I would give this restaurant 5 stars if it were smoke free =) read more

While I only give this a 3 star rating I'm thinking it's due to my own fault not due to the restaurant it's self. Now let me explain this. I wanted Sushi but wanted a bit more upscale than the normal local places had to offer. So hearing of the new opening of Tien I just had to give it a try. The sushi was good but the way they tried to mix it up a bit sorta scared me. There seemed to be a fair amount of Mexican mix to their sushi's. Jalapenos, cilantro and things along those lines. Now when they state that there is crab in their sushi, YES it's the real thing. You could easily taste the snow crab! I say go with any of the "spicy" sushi's. Much more flavor and it's not overpowering on the spicy. I'm a fan of flying fish roe, while small on portions I'm use to, the taste was good. The lobster dumplings. You could "feel" the lobster in them as you bite down, but taste?? not so much. Wouldn't order them again. Now where did I mess up? We should have requested a table that cooking was going to be table side. But I wanted sushi so why take up a table that wasn't going to be used for the purpose it was set up for. I found myself drooling over others seated around us who did chose those types of tables and there are plenty! Several of the tables were ordering the Shabu Shabu and oh my, ya it looked super good! Most tables have a cook top right in them so that is really cool. Others have the seating around the center cooking area. That type of seating is what I would highly suggest to anyone visiting Tien. Oh and one more thing, as you walk into the restaurant there is this really neat looking smoke screen/mist type thing. Hard to explain but once you see it you'll catch my drift. Prices are mid to high, wine selection is pretty good, service is OK to eh. Plates were stacking up on the table and our waitress forgot we were seated in her section but she quickly made up for that. Came here on a spur-of-the-moment trip to Biloxi for a show. We made a reservation to be sure we would get a table bc we really wanted to try this place. Even though the reviews were so-so, we wanted to give this place a chance. The set up if this restaurant is pretty nice. There was a smooth transition between the sushi bar area, hot pot/grill seating, and hibachi tables, and it made it easier to navigate the place. We sat in between at a regular table -no hibachi or grill. The menu offered a nice variety of things to try ranging from Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Korean cuisine. We ordered the Szechuan Hot & Sour soup, whole duck, Shrimp Pad Thai, Combo fried rice, and Mongolian Beef. We also ordered a sushi roll, but I can remember the name of it. The roll had tuna, salmon, cucumbers, crab, and fried onions on top. The sushi roll was good, but what made it delicious was the fried onions. The soup was pretty good, had a nice spice to it without being too much. There was an equal amount of egg, tofu, bamboo, and pork in there. Personally, the egg and tofu are my fave parts of Hot and Sour soup so I was pleased. The combo fried rice was pretty good as well, had good flavor in it. The pad Thai is the same. Mongolian beef was yummy, but it was surprising how spicy it was. I enjoyed that. My fave thing of all the entrees though is the roasted duck. Duck is one of my fave things to eat in general, so I was super happy to have that. I loved how flavorful and moist the duck was here. It had a nice balance of flavors, and that made it great to eat on its own without additional condiments. Overall, I enjoyed the food here. I would come back here again. The prices here are actually pretty reasonable for most of the dishes. I can't say anything about the hibachi, hot pot, or Korean grill, but the other stuff we had was pretty good. read more

This is a pretty good restaurant. You can get you a slushi. You can get you some fried rice chickens. Don't nobody care. I got me a thing called a low man that is like a spaghetti they eat in japan china. It is called low man because you got to get your mouth real low to the plate to eat it, man. There is only 2 things wrong with this restaurant. Thing 1 is that they don't have no cokecola and that is a big thing! Thing 2 is that I told them I wanted a California slushi since they didn't have no cokecola and instead they bringed me some rice blocks with some fishes inside. This is just a reminder of how people in the South know nothing about Asian cuisine. I arrived promptly for my 8:30 reservation only to be LIED to and told that the table was being set. Twenty minutes later we were seated at a table that had just been cleared. One look at the menu and all I saw was overpriced sushi and street food. Who pays 12 bucks for a bowl a pho or 40 for shabu shabu? People who don't know Asian food that's who. We were seated at our table and when I asked the waitress if they had any low carb meals, she replied "you not that hungry? Honey". In the most stereotypical Vietnamese accent. Ok, some would say she is just a waitress, but as fat as America is and how we are always trying to pretend we are on a diet, is a low carb request really that rare?!? Next I ordered a Sapporo and asked if they carried it in the tall can and she looked at me as though I was crazy! Ten minutes into dinner, and I was really regretting not going to Vibe over at the Hard Rock. I finally ordered the bulgoggi (** stars). Clearly the marinade was poured over at the last second and it was braised if not boiled with onions and carrots. The assorted "Kim chee" that came with it tasted more like garnish than side dishes. Been going to casinos for about 10 years now, from Las Vegas, Tunica, CT, NJ, Biloxi (you get the picture, I go to a lot of casinos). One thing they all have besides the standard buffet, pizza joint and Cafe is an Asian restaurant usually tucked away in an obscure corner. The IP, in Biloxi, is no different. TIEN is located on the 2nd floor of the IP, in the back corner of the no smoking section called The Cove. What sets this apart from the usual Asian restaurant is that it's the BEST I've ever been too! It's a Four Diamond rated restaurant by AAA, and you will not be disappointed. They offer Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese entrees and there is something for everyone. The only drawback is they are only open for dinner and closed on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. I would recommend making reservations on Friday and Saturday nights and you have 3 choices for seating. You have a choice of the typical classic seating, Hibachi style where you sit at a half circle table while a Chef prepared your meal in front of you on a hot grill (very entertaining and I would choose if you have children) or you can choose a table where there is a grill in the middle and a burner for hot pot style food where you cool your own. We tried all and to be honest, I prefer to sit at a table and have the food brought out to enjoy. Once seated the menu is very eclectic and diverse. You definitely need to try one of their handcrafted cocktails or Sake they offer as they are refreshing and delicious. The menu changes, with the seasons, but they have classics that stay around the year. I've been to Tien probably 20 times or more, and on our last trip to Biloxi, we ate there every night, so I can tell you a lot about their menu. From their small plates, you have the standard crab rangoons, which are crispy friend wontons filled with a cream cheese and crab filling, delicious. The lobster dumplings are tender doughy dumplings filled with a lobster and shrimp filling and come with a soy based sauce. We've had the duck eggs rolls, Tuba Tower and crispy spring rolls and all have left us wanting more. For your dinner choices, there are many. If it's a chilly fall or winter night, try the PHO. It's a large bowl filled with rice noodles and a broth that is out of this world. I had my first bowl of Pho at Tien and have never found another place to even come close! On our last stay, I had a good run on the slots and my husband and I ordered the Ginger Lobster which was MK at $135, yes very extravagant, but I won big and the Lobster was HUGE. the claw was larger than my own hand and the two of us could barely finish it. It was a once in a lifetime order, and I'll take their $10 bowl of Pho any day. They have a great sushi menu and our favorite is the super crunchy roll, which is a large roll filled with tempura shrimp and veggies with sliced shrimp and crab on top with bits of crunchy tempura pieces on top. Now, their pepper steak, lo mein, fried rice and standard chinese dishes are great, but the Korean Bulgogi is to die for. It's Marinated Korean style beef served with kimchee that rivals no one. If you have any room left for dessert, get it! They change the desserts around a lot, but ask the wait staff what they recommend and they will not disappoint you. Their cheesecake is standard fare, but the chocolate cake, creme brulee and other items will end the meal off right. If your on Biloxi and hankering for a good Asian meal, go to Tien and enjoy! I normally love this place, but I don't know what is going on here. It has now been over an hour and a half and i still can't get good service. My wife and I were the only customers and it took 25 minutes to order. Server kept disappearing. Food is good, but my lava cake dessert was cold. The manager took it off the bill, but who cares if they take something off you didn't eat. Update. After speaking with the manager we were asked to return the next night and try again. The service was much better. Back up to standard. Tiens food is good. I tried the Korean tacos for the first time and they were very good. The only downside of the night was the steak I got from 32, their steak and seafood restaurant. It was bland and tough. The $8 baked potato came with a dollop of sour cream and some butter. Since we ate at the buffet the night before, we decided to try one of the other restaurants and settled on Tien. The environment is very nice, the staff friendly, but the service incredibly slow. We ordered an appetizer(bbq platter), salad (beef salad), and the shabu shabu. The appetizer platter was very dry, and not flavorful at all. I loved the beef salad. The spring mix and assorted vegetables were very crisp, the beef tender, and the sauce amazing. I will come back to Tien just for this salad. Now the shabu shabu. I love hotpots and was excited to give this a try. Although the ingredients that went into the dish were fresh, the broth was very bland. We had to add alot of different sauces to give it some flavor. Next time I come, I'll just stick to the a la carte menu. read more

We were staying at this hotel and on the first night getting there we were tired and didn't want to go far. We picked up the menus for the various places in the hotel and as soon as we saw Dim Sum I was sold. If you're going to call out an item in the main list of items you sell I expect it to be that. I fell for the typical trap of seeing dim sum and thinking DIM SUM!!! They had 3 types, pork, vegetarian, and crab but all 3 were appetizer menu items. Granted they were small round and in a faux steamer basket instead of the pot stickers some places call dim sum but they were tiny and expensive. The sushi we had was ok, not impressive and not many choices. Service was lacking too. Our waiter would say he would do something and then wonder off and forget. Being an in hotel restaurant it was expensive as I was expecting but from the rating the place was getting we were expecting a lot more. If you're in the area and want actual sushi do yourself a favor and go to Sakura Restaurant and Sushi Bar instead, your belly will thank you. read more

My family have been here many many times as a big party to celebrate birthdays, anniversary and holidays. Today, Saturday night, 08/12/17, we called to make a reservation for 13, and they took the reservation down. We got to Tien at 8:20pm and the Host said they were a little behind but not long. After 40 minutes of waiting, the Manager stated that it was a MISTAKE that our reservation was taken down, not once but THREE times. However, the best sushi I have ever had is at Tien at the IP in Biloxi. The fish is fresh and cold, perfectly paired with complimentary ingredients. What a treasure for the gulf coast. We ordered off the traditional menu, and the Chinese dishes were much better than the Japanese (udon noodle soup was no comparison to Saki's). The chow fun was amazingly authentic, which makes me think the chef is Cantonese. Although you won't find the chef's greens plate in a Chinese restaurant, it combines different Asian greens to nice effect and even includes oyster sauce. The duck spring rolls had a nice crunch but needed more duck. The prices range from low to high, depending on what you order. read more

Located in IP casino. Its very convient for people staying at the hotel and those gambling. I've been here a couple of times before. Their food is good, but it could be better for the cost. Usually when I go here, it's flavorful but not this time. Majority of our food plates were bland. We ordered the super crunchy roll, crab delight roll, shanghai chicken, bbq duck, chef wok's vegetables, calamari, and Singapore noodle. The only good thing out of all that was the Supercrunchy rolls, duck and chef wok's vegetables. It was really disappointing. We had the bulgogi last time we ate and it wasn't worth it. The duck skin could have been crisper like usual. Oh and the duck usually comes with steamed tortilla but if you want the steamed buns you will have to ask for it and pay extra for it. Think the steamed buns were 6 buns for $5. The service is excellent though. Our waiter was name Hiep and he was excellent. They all are always helpful and attentative. read more

Ok, this place was recommended to me and my friend that was gambling at the IP Casino, we were given some comps from the casino to eat there. Wasn't too sure about it at first but boy was I surprised. The food was delicious and the service was great. We shared a couple of appetizers and each had an entrée that filled us up.
