Local grocery store that has basically anything you want to cook with, snack on, or eat as a meal…read more They have a self serve bar in the deli, that changes daily. They have a seafood dept that has a variety to choose from, mostly known for their boiled shrimp and crawfish~Cajun style. We like the seafood dips they have, especially the smoked tuna a dip. They have the best key lime pie in town. So, I usually have one of those in my freezer. Oh, they have a big area for alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks. You name it, Rouse's probably has it. Rouse's is more convenient to the beach than other grocery stores, but it may be a little pricier. You have to weigh the pros and the cons, like all other places. Note: pics taken from Rouse's online site.

Another great Rouse Market - we stopped in while in the area to pick up a few things for the RV. In…read moremy opinion one thing that separates Rouse from other grocery stores is all the fresh made foods that's available hot and ready to eat like jambalaya and other specialties and of course the fresh baked breads and rolls, who can resist? This location has a fresh sushi count that looked amazing and a great selection of fresh or steamed fish and seafood. I love walking down the aisles to see all the things you'd never find in most grocery stores, the staff here is very welcoming and outgoing and always ready to help direct you to anything you need. I just heard Rouse purchased (10) more Winn Dixie locations that they plan to renovate and rebrand them under the Rouse name, unfortunately none close to my home but it's great news for their Louisiana and Mississippi loyal customers. If you've never entered a Rouse Market you definitely need to check them out...

The Orange Beach Rouse's has the best looking lunch buffet I have ever seen at any Rouse's…read morelocation. They even had muffulettas on it! This store is so much cleaner and the buffet so much nicer than any of the New Orleans area locations I've frequented. It is nice to get my New Orleans staples here like Rouse's house brand Creole Mustard and their superior 100% olive oil Rouse's Olive Salad in regular or jalapeno. They even have Hubig's Pies here! Rouse's has what New Orleans folks need to stay sane when they are down in the culinary wilds of Lower Alabama where finding just regular mustard is often quite a task much less the BEST mustard option of creole mustard is nearly impossible to find at local restaurants unless you bring your own. I always keep creole mustard in my vehicle at all times as I have frequent mustard emergencies whenever I have to deal with the culinary shortcomings of Alabama. Don't even get me started on what they call "gumbo" which is usually just blah Alabama soup. The ONLY acceptable gumbo I've found in Alabama is at Tamara's Downtown in Fairhope!

I'm mad I haven't been driving out here to come to Rouses when I'm in Pensacola. I was so happy when I went down the spice aisle to find my McCormick seasoned meat tenderizer. I can't find it in any grocery store in Florida and it was a staple in my pantry for many years. I have been ordering it on Amazon for a ridiculous price. I got two. One for Pensacola and one to bring back with me to Panama. Now I don't have to drive all the way to New Orleans to get great Cajun and Creole faves. I'm also pretty excited about the hot bar. Seafood Friday 999 a pound and the only day they serve seafood gumbo. I'm sure the chicken gumbo is great but there's nothing like seafood gumbo. What's even greater is the customer Service at Rouses! All of the workers are superduper, friendly, and helpful. My son got fresh made popcorn and cotton candy. The sushi chef hooked me up with sushi exactly the way I like it. You just can't go wrong with Rouses!!

It is convenient to both the locals who call Daphne, Alabama home and the travelers cruising down Interstate 10. The Fresh Market is a supermarket geared more towards a higher end experience, more of a food destination type foodie-driven kind of place and their prices reflect that (although they will run sales). The meat department is good, as is the deli. Their Market things have some items you might not find in supermarkets like Publix or Winn-Dixie. All in all, I would recommend a visit here.

Here in Alabama as a Hurricane Ida evacuee, I decided to buy some Rao's pasta sauce on sale. Yeah, I was making big mama spaghetti at the hotel lol. I like tomato basil as it's excellent for lasagna and penne pasta dishes. Bolognese, Italian sausage, mushroom & bell pepper and Italian sausage & mushroom are my favs. Haven't tried the vodka sauce yet but I will. I normally make my tomato sauce from scratch like in The Godfather but I was pressed for time lol. So, this store has a ton of organic and fresh food products. Their meat department has friendly employees willing to help you with any questions about the enormous display of meats & seafood and if you need need fresh cuts of meats, they got you. I love that they still have butchers in this supermarket. I also love that there's a mix of meats like crab cakes, stuffed pork chops, tempura shrimp, stuffed duck and salmon burgers. Oh and the deli is also desirous with all sorts of pre-made lunches and dinners. Everything looked so tantalizing The store is a bit pricey but I love the variety of foods offered and great quality items. Reminds me of Kings Supermarket in Garden City, NY. So, for the reason of my visit: Rao's was only $5.99 and I bought 20 jars...yeah, it's just that amazing plus it's like $9.00+ a jar at other local grocers. This is the only store that regularly has it for $5.99. Oh and I'm a tea connoisseur and they keep a large variety of that as well as coffee. Needless to say, I'm a new fan and currently visit the St. Charles' store regularly. Try them, you'll be hooked.
