The birria tacos are absolutely delicious. Great little shop. Super friendly people working there!

Stopped at Doug's on Friday night after spotting the sign from Route 81. The location is near SUNY Cortland in a quiet plaza, with plenty of seating inside. I ordered the fish fry with fries and coleslaw, plus a fountain soda. Bonus points for the Pepsi flavor add-ins -- I went with vanilla. The fish was huge, golden, flaky inside, and crisp without being greasy or overly crunchy. The fries were cooked perfectly, and the coleslaw was a real side portion -- fresh, finely chopped, and not some tiny afterthought. Everything was also impressively clean: floors, tables, condiment area, tray return -- all spotless. The staff was friendly, and even the other diners were chatty and welcoming. I skipped dessert because I was full and still had a drive home, but they serve Perry's ice cream and fresh-made sundaes, so I already know what I'm trying next time. Somehow I had never stopped here before, but that may have to change. Well worth the stop, and I'll definitely be back.

Naturally I was very happy to get to have some food from here again on my latest visit to NY. Whilst a bit pricey, the plate of food is very generous! I got a sandwich plate which came with fries and cole slaw. Cole slaw is one of those things that's simple yet so easy to mess up -- I love it at Doug's! The fries are softer which compliments the sandwich well. Overall, Doug's Fish Fry hits the spot everytime I'm able to come. Definitely recommend and will continue to return!

Kaitlyn (apologies if the spelling is incorrect) was so fun and made sure we had a great dining experience. They had a special menu for the holiday. I ordered the Eggnog Espresso Martini and it was perfect! We ordered the lamb lollipops to start with and they were delicious. Fall off the bone and the sauce they came with really brought all the flavors together. I ordered the New York Strip and it was cooked just the way I asked. The best steak I've had in town. The other 2 entrees were also great. We let our waitress know how great the food was and sent our compliments to the chef. The chef came by the table to say hello and thank you. We didn't stay for dessert but will definitely be back to try their desserts and other items on their regular menu. 10/10 recommend!

And, while I waited for my order at the bar, the man behind the bar, presumably one of the owners as he had a thick accent, didn't even say hello to me nor did he offer me a glass of water. The food is indeed good quality, although - not that good, and I don't like to support businesses where the leads lack common decency... I was bummed about it.
