At that point, it stopped feeling like a misunderstanding and started feeling extremely targeted and discriminatory. Being told that BOTH forms of government-issued identification were somehow not acceptable was beyond unreasonable and honestly humiliating. The way this situation was handled lacked professionalism, respect, and basic human decency. I left feeling singled out and uncomfortable, and I genuinely believe the treatment I received could be perceived as racial profiling. Policies are one thing, but treating customers with dignity should be the bare minimum. I hope management seriously addresses this so nobody else has to experience what I did.

This, and Uni-Mart, seem to have some of the best Asian item selections in Ames. It's not a huge store, though. There are about 4 aisles of items including tons of bulk-bag rice, tea, chocolate treats, soybeans, types of grains, and more. Lots of soy sauce varieties, too. There are also freezers with frozen food. Most of the food doesn't have English written on the packaging, but some of the packaging does have English to give you a general idea of what the item is. The interior isn't particularly modern, but it is clean. Some interior decorating would probably go a long way, but it's very functional. Some items didn't have prices marked on them, so if I was looking to purchase those items, I'd probably be pretty frustrated. Judging by the price tags, it looks like they may offer a discount if you pay with cash instead of credit cards. Some of the odder items I found included duck eggs, neat Cheetos packaging, and lots of varieties of rice that I've never seen before. It's definitely neat. They didn't have the tea that we wanted. In fact, I was a little disappointed by the tea selection; there are definitely much, much larger tea selections at all of the local grocery stores. I ended up purchasing some treats. The cashier wasn't particularly friendly, but she was very proficient and wasn't rude at all. Final thoughts: Definitely a neat store, and I'm glad that Ames has some Asian food stores to get some of the harder-to-find items in-town. It isn't the most modern-looking store, and it doesn't have a huge selection, but if you have a favorite foreign food brand and can't find it in the regular grocery stores, you might be able to find it here.

If you call ahead they can make any of their baked goods gluten free. I did not because my family decided to try this on a whim but I was able to have gluten free toast, frosted sugar cookies, and a brown butter chocolate chip cookies. I had a breakfast sandwich with ham, eggs, cheese and avocado on a savory biscuit. When I brought it back to work everyone was huddling around loving the glorious smell. It was amazing. I also came home with a scone the size of my head. It was wonderful!! I can't wait to try other flavors. We will be heading here again next week for our weekly management meeting as everyone is excited to try it for themselves. Casual environment and very good staff. This place has it all!

Our food was hot and the everything bagel sandwich is really good! The spicy sausage burrito was a bit on the small side, but that's ok; we made sure to order 2 the next time lol. It had good flavor though! My matcha latte was perfect! It had the right amount of sweet and was mixed well. The Oreo blender was also delicious! It was blended together really well and the mixture of sweet vs "bitter" is great! Service: We went through the drive-thru and the service was fast! Not only were they efficient, but they were polite and didn't cut us off while we were placing our order. They were patient as well, seeing as we had never been there before and had no idea what to try lol. They greeted us with smiles when we approached the window and made sure that our items were carefully handed to us without making us feel like we needed to hurry up.
