I've been putting this updated review off for a while. I stopped going to Tigard Premier years ago because of bad business practices. They used to have good mechanics but scared them all away it seems. One of the last times I had my car worked on, a mechanic came running out and was twitching. He was pale as a ghost and looked like he was on some serious meth. I believe in Equal Employment Opportunity but some people should be clean when working on vehicles because it can be dangerous. Case in point, I believe he is the one who worked on my vehicle. Fluids were all overfilled and I kept getting error codes lighting up my dashboard. Car never worked right after that. I kept bringing in my vehicle to have it looked at to no avail. Chris and Patrick would basically shrug their shoulders to my situation. I feel like they give better treatment to new cars than older ones. I'll give Chris a little credit because he tried to fix it himself and didn't charge me but in the end I had to give the car away because it was basically inoperable. Which sucks when you're out hundreds of dollars in "repairs" to them. I'm seeing lots of 5-star reviews from people with no profile picture and only 1 review which tells a lot right there. Take it from me an Honest Joe and spend your money on quality mechanics that believe in customer service and less on discrimination. read more

Excellent auto shop! I've used them several times with the most recent job being new suspension for our Toyota Highlander. They're always honest, competitively priced. and do quality work. This was my first time at Tigard Premier and I have to say I'm impressed. I was initially helped over the phone and given a quote on some work my daughter's car needed on the battery. I originally had gone to Toyota and they wanted to charge me almost 3X as much as Tigard Premier did....insane!! The employees were nothing but kind and respectful and had my daughter's car all good to go in a matter of hours. No hidden prices or agendas, and didn't try to sell my anything else. Service Requested was a brake job and some other items to be completed recently. The car left the shop in worse condition than when it went into the shop. Installed the wrong brakes, busted up several components under the hood and now the car is running rough. Good chance the car won't stop and could result in a deadly accident. Nobody at the front counter could provide any assistance. Quality is substandard and not safe. Value - seems very expensive compared to the dealership. I'll have to go some where else to have the same work completed again. Not at all impressed. Just glad I wasn't killed on the way home from the faulty work by the shop. read more

I was initially referred here and started off having a good experience. Well things drastically declined when they replaced my sunroof. First off, they should have been honest with me that this was too big and too complicated a job for them. But I think with the $4000 cost they just saw dollar signs. I am the original owner of my 4Runner which has always been garaged with low miles. No kids and well taken care of. The first time I took my car in, Patrick told me my car was in pristine condition. Well fast forward after I got my car back from having the sunroof replaced it was a disaster. Black oil fingerprints covered the entire headliner, dash, sidewalls, seats, everywhere. I have light grey interior and it was a mess. I called Patrick who told me to bring it back in but I demanded a detail job. Patrick finally did take care of paying for the detail, which I appreciated because it was the right thing to do. While the auto detailer was cleaning my car he found a broken air bag cover that had been duck taped in place. I called Patrick, who was immediately defensive when I explained what was found. They got back to me after I sent photos and said it was already broken when I brought it in. This was a complete lie. The entire headliner had to be removed to install the new sunroof and in order to do that, all bolts have to be removed, which includes bolts on airbags. About a month later I was loading stuff in the trunk when I noticed more broken stuff. The bolt covers holding the cargo netting were loose and stripped. They were very secure prior to the sunroof job. Then today (and for the first time since having the sunroof done) I tried laying the back seats down so that I could load stuff. They've always been the easiest seats to lay down. Not now. The lever wouldn't work and me and my neighbor had to fight just to get the seat down. We discovered that when they put the headliner back on they didn't align the seats with the locking mechanism and forced it back in. We found two marks on the lever where they obviously used something to force it into place. We also find part of the lip on the roof wasn't properly secured. Obviously by now I have fire coming out my ears. It's pointless to reach out to them after they denied the duck tape incident. I will never ever return and never recommend this place. I've had nothing but good experience with JCCar Care in LO. The only reason I didn't go to them was because they had closed for vacation and were backlogged in appointments. Lesson learned. Extremely disappointing experience. Tigard Premiere Auto has wrecked so many things on my car and I wonder what else I am going to find. Save yourself a headache and go elsewhere. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Tigard Premier. I went in needing a fog light and rear window wiper replaced. They had neither in stock but told me where to get them and to come back and they would install them. I picked up the parts, came back and they installed them at the pre-arranged time. To top it all off there was no charge. When it is time for an oil change or whatever, they have earned my business. read more

My vehicle, which doesn't often get to see much of the open highway, was not "behaving" properly which isn't to say it was broken or anything but I was concerned. I knew Premier AC was nearby and set up a time to drop it off which I did. They were attentive and kept in contact with me from start to finish. I have since recommended this location to several people and one of them is even preparing to set up an appt for oil change. So I feel like one good deed deserves another. It's not easy finding a location near you sometimes and/or a place you feel you can have faith in knowing the work will be done in a timely and professional manner. Over-the-top customer care....that exactly what I received from Patrick and his crew. I have dropped by Tigard Auto Care shop on two (2) occasions for two small fixes. One being a wind shield wiper and the other instance was to top off my oil. On neither occasion was I charged any money although I insisted Patrick would not take my money. This guy treated me with dignity and respect...very warm and friendly....and recognized my disability. My girlfriend's car "went south" on her last night on the way home from work in Portland. I called Premier first thing this morning and was told I could bring it in, but they couldn't promise they could get to it today, but thought they could get to it by Thursday. A few hours after dropping it off I got a call with the diagnosis and cost. I told them to go ahead, and the car was finished and back in our driveway by 3pm. The way the car was acting on her drive home, I was prepared for a huge bill, if not a total write off of the old car. I have been to Nelsen's several times mostly for small things, oil changes, fuel economy check-ups. My last visit I was told that my fuel filter needed to be cleaner/and/or replaced and my brake fluid needed to be replaced... I was a bit skeptical mainly because in the back of my head I knew that brake fluid in most vehicles is hydraulic fluid and does not circulate through any long or complex pathway and so therefore would not really pickup any sediment or somehow become dirty or heavier from dirt etc... So I went to a trusted shop I used to frequent when I lived in McMinnville. They looked at both these issues and said neither needed service, that the brake fluid was not dirty or in any need of replacement. And that the fuel filter was also fine. They also mentioned that these two items, especially brake fluid replacement are sometimes used as revenue generators. As far as professionalism and friendliness Nelsen's does not fail at that. But as far as I am concerned, I would rather drive an hour or so back and forth if it meant saving several hundreds of dollars and receiving constant honest service. read more

Customer since I can remember. My Dad suggested it from when I was a teen. They do an honest job. Owners have changed over 20 years of course. They will sometimes recommend things, but maybe not necessary. Do research and shop around before you let them complete a big job they recommend. I've shopped around and found cheaper quotes. Overall, the service is solid for a basic oil change, brakes, and other.... Trustworthy shops are hard to find, you can find a use for Nelsen's. Go on website for their coupons. Unfortunately, it's in Tigard. Matt has been there awhile and he'll give you good answers. Nice people. read more

It was a rainy Saturday and I had plans to head out of town. Then my driver's side windshield wiper started going haywire, and replacing the blade didn't fix the problem. I called AAA and asked for a AAA approved shop near where I was that was open on Saturday. I called Nelsen's and they said to bring my car in. Upon arrival, I worked with Mark Mitchell, who said they'd diagnose the problem and give me a call (I went exploring around the area). I came back about 20 minutes later to find my car parked out in front - backed in, like it was on display. Mark said they'd found that the bolt that held my wiper in place had just come loose, so they'd tightened it and topped off my fluids - and there would be no charge! What a relief that it didn't require a new wiper transmission, and how extremely nice of them to top my fluids and not charge me. Nelsen's will take care of you! read more

Very disappointed. They replaced old parts of my car(struts) with brand new ones that broke down in a few months after being installed, and when I took my car to another shops (2 different shops, in both shops they confirmed those new parts broke because they were installed incorrectly. I just lost about $200 for new parts plus $300 for labor that they charged me. Would never recommend this place and will never come back read more

It's a Friday at 4:45 and when I pull into Goodwill parking lot smoke is coming out of my hood. I look up and there is Tigard Premier Auto Care. I pull my car over and I walk in a little stressed but I'm greeted with a smile and am asked what's the problem. I explain and they immediately take my keys and pull my car in to look at it. I discover they are closing in 15 minutes but they gladly assist me. Turns out it was a broken clamp, so they fixed it and topped off all liquids free of charge and I was set to go! I feel very grateful that this happened where and when it did so I had the opportunity to find Tigard Premier. I was recently referred to these folks by another mechanic, super nice guy in Raleigh Hills who couldn't get me in right away but thought that Tigard Premier, which is very close to my home, might be able to help. I am happy to report it was a great experience. I walked in and spoke to Patrick, who is very personable, professional and very nice. He efficiently and quickly took all my data and I arranged to return early the next morning to leave the car. Unfortunately, since there was no engine check light to begin with to give us a clue what was going on, nothing came up on the diagnostic, and when I picked up the car, Chris (I believe), who is just awesome, didn't charge me for the diagnostic and actually had a good idea for a follow-up, endoscopic gas tank check related to my car's issue. So, even though I need to go to the dealer now (car's under warranty, I just needed a fast check because it was Friday and I can't be without my car), I will follow up with Chris and will refer these guys many times over, I'm sure. read more

Asked them to wait for me to get there, so that I could pick up my car at the end of the day, no problem. Calls me by first name (yay!). Got me a rebate on parts (super yay!). Best mechanical service I have ever had. Reasonable prices (Whoo hoo!). Great work with a 2 year guarantee (yeah!). AAA certified. They communicate clearly, let you know exactly what to expect, are courteous and reliable, and take as much time as needed to ensure that you make the best decision regarding your vehicle. Very friendly service. Knowledgeable staff owner has been doing automotive work for 30+ years. Very clean and accommodating. Very very friendly dog. Just a heads up if dogs make you nervous. But Thor the dog is extremely nice and very well trained. Recommend by my step dad who helped my cousin get financed for his repair. Also great financing program if you're able to qualify. I couldn't be more satisfied with the timeliness and quality of the service here at Tigard Premier Auto Care. I had been smelling gasoline leaking through my air vents for a couple of days. Despite everyone in my family telling me it wasn't cause for concern, I know differently, and decided to take my car in after seeing some positive reviews. They were able to diagnose my vehicle within half an hour, and determined that the O rings on a couple of my fuel injectors had snapped, causing gas to leak all over the head. Definitely cause for concern. They quoted me a very reasonable price, and had the vehicle fixed in a couple of hours. I will definitely be returning here for service on anything I cannot do myself. I havent had any work done here, so can't speak to that, but I did stop in on a rainy day to see if they sell wiper blades. Indeed they do. About a month later i was having issues with one of those wipers streaking so I stopped in to see if they had a warranty or anything. Without a question, they came out and put a new one on. Stopped by because my tail and dash lights had gone out and couldn't find the right fuse to save my life. They didn't have time to get me in, however, the owner (I'm assuming) walked out to my car and after 6min of looking around found the fuse and replaced it free of charge.
