This was actually the longest ive ever waited for an oil change. I was here for two hours with little to no interaction with any employees. We had them replace the rear wiper, and in doing so they somehow managed to break the wiper, charge us full price for a replacement, and have us wait in the parking lot for another 20 minutes while they have the part delivered. I have come to this same place for near 7 oil and other service changes.. it has always been exceptional customer service..Jeff was the manager or lead technician prior and always made sure my needs were met and in a timely fashion... . Now there is a rude arrogant egotistical and completely unprofessional new gentleman named Shaughn who addresses you.. who does not do any of which you ask for for the service of your vehicle you know is right for it, but instead argues with you, presents non customer friendly comments and declines you service you know is necessary to keep your vehicle and the precious cargo safe in it. Service was alright even though it took well over an hour for me to get in. Like everyone else has BEEN saying, they just don't have a will to get stuff done quickly. On top of that I ended up paying $97 for just an oil change!! And when I commented on the charge I only got a "yup, everything is going up" kind of response. To break it down the parts were $80.99 for 4.4 quarts of oil and the filter, $16 for the labor. I can tell y'all with confidence right now I can go to an auto zone or O'Reillys and get your branded oil of 0w-20 full Synthetic for $34.99 for 5 quarts and the filter for $9.99. Where is the extra $36.01 coming from? That's literally the cost of another 5 quart jug. I will never come back without my own oil and filter and I will always ask for a quote up front before I even let anyone here touch my car because I did not leave feeling good. I left feeling absolutely robbed. Edit/addition since business reply: If the inspection is the reason why it costs so much then you guys need to give the customer the option to opt out of it or break it down on the receipt. You're literally preforming a service and sweeping the cost under the cost of oil. That's completely distrustful and a bad business practice. My recommendation is not to trust this Valvoline with your car's service, based on what happened to me. I took my car in for a routine oil change, and a month later, my car overheated and broke down, because a giant prying tool was left inside the engine. I have the physical tool in my possession, and am attaching a picture here. This Valvoline location was the last place to open my engine, so I called them to let the know and ask them to make it right. After calling and calling, asking for information, they closed my case, denying that the tool was theirs. The manager, who was supposed to contact me, never did. When I went into the location myself, I found out that the reason they declined to investigate is that they don't have video footage of the time of my service. They insist, however, that the tool could not be theirs because they perform regular "tool audits," only use specific brands and run a tight ship, which is interesting to me based on the attached photo of the messy, disorganized tool cart full of all different brands of tools that I took outside of this location when I visited... My requests to see the tool audit records for the time of my service have, unsurprisingly, been ignored also. The tool caused the cooling fan to stop working, bursting the radiator hose, warping the engine and completely ruining the car. If you like your car and don't want to let it get destroyed with no recompense, take your car to any other oil change location. I am more than happy to discuss this issue further with anyone looking to bring more attention to, or represent my interests in this issue, and am interested in pursuing this absolute malfeasance to the fullest extent possible. Update from my last review 3 days ago When it was finally my turn I let the employee know that I only needed an oil top off. They went ahead and checked my oil. He then came back to me after looking up my account mentioning to that they were unable to provide the service due to my last oil change being 2 years ago. Uh. No. I pointed to the Valvoline sticker on my windshield and told him, my last oil change was less than two months ago. He then tells me that they still are unable to top off my oil for free because they stop providing that service about 2 years ago and that they can top it off for about $8/quart. I decided to decline and leave. 2 days later, I went to a location in the Tanasbourne area for the same service. The service was done within 10 minutes and I was on my way. I don't know if I would have come here had I read the reviews first, but my oil light has been on for several days and this location was only 5 minutes from my house so I gave it a try. My experience was positive. There was a line but I went at lunchtime so I expected that, and brought work to do while I waited. The change itself took 30 minutes. Branson and Eric were great. Thorough, communicative, and pleasant, and didn't try to get me to buy anything extra. It was a little spendy. Just over $100 for synthetic with my AAA discount so on the upper end. (I heard a car in front of me say they brought their own oil.) That said, synthetic will last me a while. I see now that they have a lot of coupons online so I'll just bring one of those next time. Saturday morning, 9:30. Very responsive crew. Everyone was working hard and as a team. You pull up on the back in to two lines. If you're there first there, and the line next to you line quicker, they will swap lanes. I appreciated that. Kind of like the grocery store. Which line is quicker? Except here, you get to go in the quicker lane. I only got my oil changed but they do a lot of other stuff too. I had a $25 coupon from their website for a full synthetic oil change. Went here for the first time today. Was working literally right next door but didn't have any free time to sit and wait. Thought I'd get my cars oil changed while I worked today (trying to be efficient!). Drove over, anticipated handing them my keys and information, and told a group of them they could have my car all day. They flat out told me "NO". It was pouring down rain and at least an hour wait. I've never had a shop like this tell me to pound sand, never been told I couldn't leave the car/keys, fit it in when convenient, and call when done. I could have ran over in 60 seconds to pickup. I'm not a huge fan of not being able to make an appointment for this specific reason. I needed to get my car DEQ tested which I've been told takes a few minutes. On my lunch break I drove over to Valvoline as I called ahead and the phone line said there was no wait at this location. I got there and was the 4th car waiting--after 45 mins with 2 cars still in front of me, I decided to back out of the line and leave. "Instant" oil change seems to be a relative phrase. The staff members were nice and courteous and I'm sure the wait time was out of their hands. Valvoline should have updated wait times to be more accurate or I would not have gone. This is the second Valvoline I've tried to get DEQ tested at, the last one I waited 30 mins and they said their DEQ tester didn't work. I'll make sure to go elsewhere. read more

I went to Instant Oil Change for the first time on October 26th. During the procedure, the attendant accidentally dropped a hold-down bolt from my air cleaner cover. The manager, Ryan could not find a replacement from their parts bin but said, "No problem, I'll order it and give you a call." After a couple of weeks, I called the shop for an update but found that I was talking to an answering service operator. Drove to the shop, no Ryan but asked the young lady attendant if there was a bolt left for me to pick up. She knew nothing about the matter but would tell Ryan I came by. He never called back. My girlfriend took her car in for an oil change the whole time the manager is just standing at her window trying to upsell her, not watching his employees. An employee said that her tires had too much air in them so she proceeded to take air out of all the tires and then she DRAINED one COMPLETELY. My PREGNANT girlfriend got stuck on the freeway because she had a flat tire. She could have crashed. We proceeded to call the manager by the name of Michael and tell him what happened at first he was sympathetic but then when we wanted a refund he started calling her a liar & said that they have "camera footage of her leaving" but yet in the beginning he is saying that the employee is new and inexperienced why would you have her working on my car then?? I arrived a couple minutes people 8:00AM (b/c that's when googlemaps said they'd be open) and they already had a car receiving a service in each bay. A technician greeted me and informed me of an approximate 30 minute wait and that I might need to go into the other bay one since the one I was in would take longer. When the time came, the asked a later arriving vehicle to back up so I could enter bay 1 and be serviced next since I arrived first. So great! Ryan explained the services and what my car needed. I got to see with my own eyes what my filtered looked like and judged for myself if I wanted them to replace or not. They were all so kind and straight forward. So I came in for and oil change on Saturday afternoon. Line was only 5 cars. Took close to 1.5 hours to get to the bay. The person in the bay below was using an impact gun to take the skid plate out plus the oil pan. Only one person changing oil 5 people up top doing nothing while we all wait. On Monday had to take car back in because skid plate was hanging down on the ground. Using impact gun to tighten the bolts is to much. Was told there was damage to skid plate and a manager would call me the next day. Which was a Tuesday. I called in around noon to see what was going on. Was told manger will be in later, and would call me. On Wednesday I call customer service and filed a complaint. On Friday I call back in to find out what was going on. Was told that Ryan would call me by end of business on Friday. Well I got back from the weekend and still no call. Called in on Monday and was told again Ryan is in a meeting and would call me. Tuesday I called again to customer service and found out that they have ordered the new skid plate. Ryan the manager at this location does not return calls and or even give a curiosity call to let us know that they have ordered the parts. I was not directed to either the right or left bays A gentleman came back and told me that it would be 20 minutes maybe less and they would have me in. 45 minutes later, a woman came over and told me that the car in front of me decided to have some additional services so it would be longer. At this point the right day had emptied twice. She told me that she would try and move things around to get me into the other bay because I was next. She never did that. I sat another 20 minutes watch another car go through the right bay. Finally I was up for my oil change it took 15 minutes and I was on my way. No apology, no nothing. They made zero attempt to get me through in a timely fashion, and they were aware that I had been waiting longer. I'll never go back to this location.
