Great service, professional attitude, and no bull! As a previous owner of a Jeep, I faced many electrical issues that kept my car in shops. Each time the issue was "fixed" more issues would suddenly surface. A never ending cycle of paying money for an issue to never be resolved led to frustration and distrust of auto mechanics. Based on its known reliability, I bought a Honda in hopes that this car lasts me for the next 8 years or so. Everyone knows that a car's longevity is based on the consistency of ones maintenance. In short, I was on the hunt for a reliable auto shop that I could turn to for the next decade. With buying a used Honda came the dreaded idea knowing I'd have to deal with another auto shop. I spent time looking through Yelp and I found this place to hold very consistent high reviews. I decided to book an appointment with them and I'm so glad I did. I was met with professionalism and when issues did arise, they were addressed and fixed! Jake and Chris have gone so far above and beyond every time I have brought my vehicle and questions to their business. From being completely honest and transparent- which spared me from spending extra money on services I thought I may need but actually didn't... to guiding me through how to properly maintain my car as a means of prevention and safety. They truly care about their customers as neighbors. After being run around and mishandled by other auto body shops and numerous Subaru dealerships after having a minor yet very damaging incident- I was still left with an almost new car that made unpleasant sounds and felt off. I did not know how to fix the situation and neither did anybody else- apparently. I felt frustrated and helpless. Then I was sent to Jake and Chris. They assured me they would solve my problem and entrusted me with their loaner vehicle for the duration of their inspection. They got back to me within 24 hours. By the time I finally found them, I had been driving with damage that warped my wheels and wore out my breaks/tires faster than usual. This was a period of time when I did not have much extra money. I could pay for it but it would have spread me thin. So they leveled with me graciously. They said - it is the beginning of summer and my tires will safely make it through the dry road season, even with the gradual wear from warped wheels. My breaks will also make it through the summer by safety standards. So ... if I can endure the unpleasant sounds for a couple more months, I do have a safety cushion of time available to save money for the services without stressing myself out. Whew. I returned at the end of summer with stacked funds and a new snowboarding pass! I told them I would like to do the whole enchilada of services needed to have the car in perfect condition, and financially speaking- reasonably set up for winter, mountain adventures! Chris was enthusiastically happy to turn the computer towards me and show me the options and prices for purchasing wheels and tires as a package from the company they use to save me money. He knew exactly what kind of tires I would need to drive safely in all winter elements and spared me the excessive and expensive tires. He also helped me choose more than reasonably priced wheels that also looked great with my car and made sure the style and dimensions of tire would protect my wheels from any curb scratching incidents. The order was placed and arrived quickly, then Jake went all mega mechanic and basically gave my car a full functional makeover from the inside out. I was ecstatic! Fast forward, I let my 19 year old brother drive us to the mountain in my car, so that he can learn to drive in the snow. However, on the way up... we encountered 4 different car pile-ups, where vehicles were sliding down and across lanes, crashing into each other. We could not risk losing moment to switch drivers so we had to continue. At least 8 more cars slid and wound up at the sides of the road. But we made it around all the stuck vehicles and got to the slopes w/o ANY sliding or issues. We also had no problem getting out of the parking lot later that night when other subarus and trucks were spinning out and getting stuck. Jake and Chris set me up! My car runs like a dream and handles snow like a BOSS. I'm so grateful and highly recommend them to anyone! Especially those who feel untrusting and worked over by other auto mechanics and dealerships. I went today for the first time and will now be a customer for life! I am, admittedly not a huge car guy. A little while ago my check engine light came on so I borrowed a diagnostic reader to see what it was. Because it was an emissions issue I just reset it myself and kept driving it to see if it would come back on. It didn't. I wanted to be sure so I took it in. I talked to Jake and showed him the code. He talked me through the reasons the code could have been thrown and spent 10 minutes answering my questions. He said that because it hadn't come back on, I had nothing to worry about and was free to go. He could have easily kept my car, looked and it and charged me a fee for the same answer and I'd have no way of knowing. I also asked him about an issue we're having with my wife's car and he gave me a great suggestion on how to fix it. I was very impressed with the integrity and sincerity that we were shown. We talked for a good 10-15 minutes and he was happy to answer our questions. Unless I move, I'm never going to go anywhere else when I need car help because of this great experience. read more

Truly the best experience with a mechanic ever! I use to fear taking my car in to be serviced at a dealership. Luckily after a series of unfortunate events I'd finally had enough at the dealership and several friends recommended I find a trusted mechanic. I checked out yelp and found JC Car Care. The 5 star reviews said a lot and so I called. From the first call to every interaction, Chris, was absolutely amazing! Chris took the time to answer my questions and was honest and transparent. One specific example is the dealership told me I needed to replace the timing belt on my Toyota highlander. The dealership then did and said some questionable things so I decided to get a second opinion. Turns out my timing belt has another 20,000 miles before it needs to be replaced. This place is such a gem. I wound have never found them if it wasn't for a coupon I found in my mailbox. I needed an oil change anyway, and I seriously hate going to Oil Can Henry's and/or Jiffy Lube so I figured I'd check out their Yelp reviews. I'm so glad I did!! The reviews were amazing, so I called to schedule the appointment. And you will need an appointment. I tried to schedule for the same or next day (Thurs or Fri), but I had to wait until (I think it was) Tuesday. Which said to me that clearly I'm not the only one who knows about them... But it was so worth it. The service is amazing, and the price is so reasonable, I didn't even end up using the coupon. Imagine that?! They did a great job with the oil change, full inspection of our new truck, answered all our questions, and for $35, I was totally satisfied. I would have felt like I was robbing them if I paid any less!! So from now on, this is where I'm taking both my cars for their service. In fact, we've been back a number of times trying to figure out what feels like a power steering problem with the truck. Every transaction is very professional, the work is quick but I know it's good quality, and I don't feel like they're trying to find ways to rip me off. Which is huge. For a car place. Jake is amazing. Great with people. And clearly, the man behind the curtain (Chris I wanna say?) is clearly great at what he does. They caught a couple things that, left un-monitored, could have left us stranded. So I feel safer already driving our new (to us) truck. We still haven't gotten to the bottom of this power steering thing. But that's only because we're taking a little break from car stuff for now. You know, it costs money and all. But when we're ready to get back on the horse, we'll be taking her back to JC Car Care. Oh, and they have a nice little waiting room with cable tv, lots of fun books (like Guinness Book of World Records!!), a single serve coffee machine with a variety of teas, coffee, and hot chocolate, and there's even a nice little restroom in case the coffee passes straight through you while you're waiting. Good old-fashioned service! Jacob and Chris exemplify good old-fashioned service. They go above and beyond to help keep their customer's cars serviced in top condition. My 2002 Toyota Camry had been having random stalling issues and JC Car Care went the extra mile to figure out what was wrong with my car, since the problem wasn't showing up on the diagnostics. Jacob researched my problem online and they took my car in to test it out on road tests to try to figure out the problem, many times for no charge or a minimal charge. Chris was finally able to diagnose the problem, ordered the part, and my car is running like it's brand new. Now, I moved to WA for a new job and I took my car in to get an oil change at a local shop, they mentioned how wonderfully my car was serviced: high quality clamps were used, timing belt replacement sticker to indicate to another mechanic that the timing belt was replaced and when it was done (by the way, they replaced my timing belt for $500 less than my previous mechanic had quoted me!). He said that my mechanic had obviously been a good one, and I agree. Going to miss you guys! My review is my honest opinion. I have not been paid or in any way compensated. Quick version: Best mechanics I have ever been to, period. Friendly, honest service and very reasonable prices. I brought my 12 year old Element in for some pretty significant work a little while back. When you have the same car for 12 years you tend to know what to expect when you take it to a mechanic, both for regular maintenance and larger jobs. I can say, with absolutely no hesitation, that JC is the finest out of the 10+ mechanics I have been to over the life of the car. Making appointments couldn't be easier and can be done electronically or via phone. I find phone is best but email response time is superb. There is no BS during the repair process. No attempts to up-sell or recommend unnecessary repairs, both of which could easily have been done with the work I had done at my first visit. The work came in at, or just under, the quoted price and was completed in the timeframe they estimated. They even went the extra mile and took my car out to have the new set of tires balanced and aligned. Top notch experience from start to finish. Added bonus - they have a fantastic network of shops they will refer you to for any work they don't do in-house. We have always been the "take it to the dealer" kind of people. Then our neighbor told us about JC Care LLC in Lake Oswego. We have a 2005 Pontiac Vibe that we "inherited" from our son. He's a 20 something and likely did not get routine maintenance as we like to do. And based on what the dealer told us MUST be done we decide to sell. But wait: we went to JC for a 2nd opinion. They had a look and advised the things which should be done and those that could wait and the timing for which it was wise to schedule the remaining things--at least those things that really needed to be done. Results? An immediate cost FAR less than our trusted dealer. A more mid-term outlay that is about half should we decide to sell. And now, we're not sure we'll even sell. It's a great little car and not to much expense expected in the near future. So not only did we get a fair deal and great service, we now have a new favorite repair shop that, with their honest feedback, helps us better decide whether we should even keep our car. That kind of partnership is powerful if you really don't even know what to do with an aging car. One thing you should know is that the secret about JC is out. If you want to schedule, do it a week or so in advance. They have slots for emergencies, but we were not one and didn't pretend to be. If it had been, they could have taken us earlier. But just knowing they are there for service ASAP or a few days down the road is a great feeling. Even better knowing that what they said they would do at the price they would do it was all true. I went to JC CAR CARE to get fixed what Tylers has broken, and JC was the best. Jacob and Chris are professional, courteous, honest, and their prices are very reasonable. Jacob and Chris serviced my catalytic converter on my Hyndaui Santa Fe. They also fixed the ignition coils, valve gaskets and seals. They test drove the car multiple times and only when they felt it confident that their repairs fixed all the problems did they give it back to me. They walked me through every single point of what they did, and explained to me in detail the reasons behind their repairs. I felt like I was talking with friends; I definitely trust these guys now. My car needed a knock sensor replaced to be able to properly detect engine issues. Less than a week later, my car wouldn't start and needed to be jump-started each time I needed to drive. I called JC car care and asked if perhaps the knock sensor replacement may have something to do with my car not starting. Jacob was nice enough to run tests on the battery and alternator; determined that the battery needed to be replaced. The 2 repairs in less than a week were purely coincidental. The timing of the diagnostic tests overlapped with his daily supply delivery and I was able to get a battery replacement within 15 minutes. He didn't even charge me for diagnostics and labor! What amazing customer service! Jacob patiently explained everything and was able to get my car up and running in about 40 minutes total. Totally unexpected generosity and exceptional service. I've been going to JC Car Care exclusively for about 5 years and would never go anywhere else. I sometimes joke that it was fate that I found them - the first time I stepped foot in JC Car Care, I was 18 years old and crying because I had just gotten my first ticket a couple blocks away for tail lights I didn't know were out. Jake fixed them up within 15 minutes and didn't charge me - he made a customer for life that day. I've been taking my car there ever since. While car maintenance is supposed to be a complete drag, their team makes me actually enjoy it. I know my car is being taken care of by some of the kindest and most qualified people I've ever met in my life. I recently had one of those "big car repair" moments as my car is getting older and it was such a blessing to know I could trust without a doubt in my mind that I was getting the correct information and best price. They walked me through every step in the repairs, let me think about it for a couple days, and then only got started on the work when I had come to terms with the fact that I needed a new timing belt and gave them the go-ahead. As a side note, I have not once ever called and had Hailey Rose (their amazing administrator) tell me that Jake was unavailable - this man works tirelessly and with a smile on his face to make sure he is always able to answer questions. I wanted so much to like them. Their Yelp reviews are the reason we brought our car in here. After our first experience, I recommended you freely to everyone, now I am calling and telling those that I recommended to stay away. On one hand, we had a car that had been through another auto shop and none of the issues got resolved. You helped us figure out the complex fix for that car (+1 star). I am grateful for that, so thank you. However I will admit that every time I saw you on the caller ID, I dreaded talking to you as every time it was to tell me that something was wrong that you hadn't anticipated. And it was always made to sound dire. I supposed that's the nature of owning an aging, fussy European car - I understand. However, what you did to my parent's car was really shoddy. To diagnose and replace something, citing with 90% certainty that was the fix, only to have us out several hundred dollars and no fix is concerning. To hear that you insisted on only talking about the issue with my father (it's not even his car), it made us feel incompetent - as if you thought that we were incapable of grasping the issue and frankly, a bit sexist. Doubt this was the goal, but that's how it came out. Most of all, we brought the car in multiple times. The last time, there was some run around about the appointment time. But we did get confirmation that we'd be okay to bring it in and FINALLY get it fixed for good. Then you call and say you can't work on it. We had an appointment set, and it was cancelled on us only in the middle of the day, after we had made quite an effort to get it in early. JC also was told that the car's temperature gauge was out. It was always reading the car as cold. They thought this meant the outside temperature gauge, which worked fine. So it had to go BACK in to have that fixed. It never got done. Just based on reviews, we are most definitely the odd ones out here. I don't know what happened to us that we got what we felt was such poor service. Nor is it reasonable that we picked the second car up twice with no repairs made (third or fourth trip, all they did was tell us to come pick it up). I am disappointed in JC Car Care and will be taking all of our vehicles and recommendations elsewhere going forward. read more

My first time at JC. I chose this shop because of the yelp reviews and close proximity to my home.. They lived up to the ratings. I have a BMW X6 and my blower motor went out. Called on a Thursday for following Monday appointment, dropped off the night before and Jacob had the issue diagnosed by early afternoon. He called with and the details/cost to fix, and promised it would be done at 4:00 that afternoon. Btw- the old motor was dead so they had to get the new blower and install it in only a few hours. Got the call at 4:10 that the car was good to go. I did my research beforehand as I kinda knew what was wrong.
