From my first call to get an initial estimate and timeline for replacing my radiator and some other general maintenance on my Camry I had nothing but great communication and follow through. They made some recommendations that made sense and didn't push anything. Explained what they were doing and why. Did a few little things without charging extra. Went in to fix my air conditioner. They fixed it (after 5 hours I got a message that there was no hose leak so they probably just put coolant in). Was charged over $300...they did NO OTHER SERVICE. Told by the owner that my brake pads would soon need changing for about $600. Drove out with a burnt-out tail light and overhead brake light---which they did not mention. I bought a used 2004 F150 for what I thought was a steal but just weeks after bringing it home it (of course) started having major problems. I tried to get someone to diagnose it but nobody could tell me what was wrong without tearing the entire motor and drivetrain apart. It definitely wasn't anything simple to fix. I brought it to Dan's based on reviews I'd read and I'm so glad I did! The guys over there took the time to painstakingly go through the entire engine and drivetrain and eventually found the problem and fixed everything. It runs perfectly now, and they didn't even charge me for the weeks of time they spent troubleshooting the truck to find the underlying problem. The only time I have been to this place was to have them check out a car I was considering for purchase. They did okay on that, hence the two stars. Might have been three if the office lady had not been so incredibly negative. But what has really gotten to me is that ever since (nearly 3 years and counting) they constantly send me ads in the mail. I do not live in the area, I am never going back to them, they did what I asked, thank you good-bye. I have both emailed and called asking to be removed from their mailing list and still the slick oversized postcards arrive. This may sound like a small thing. But I do my best to create as little waste as possible. There is no need to make my postman (who walks a 7+ mile route daily) trek up to my house to deliver their ad. We are new to the area and had this place recommended to us. We brought our car in for an alignment and INSTANTLY had issues with our car after. Our wheel bearing was messed up and our car STILL drifted off to the right. We brought it back and they wanted to charge us $1400+ to fix the bearing, even though this wasn't an issue before bringing our car here. They also tried to say that the alignment has nothing to do with the bearing but just a few quick google searches and asking different mechanics would tell you otherwise! We ended up calling a few different places for quotes and were given HALF the prices they were trying to charge us here! Would not recommend this place, they are obviously here to bleed their customers dry with bad repairs and damages they cause! !!BEWARE!! read more

Normally, I would say the service is great here. Just don't leave your vehicle with them for days in a row. There's been a recent uptick in theft in the area. Cadillac converters and a vehicle were recently stolen off their property and they don't have anyway to protect their client's vehicles if parked outside. After a cadillac converter was stolen from my vehicle, I was told their insurance won't pay for it and they only covered half of my deductible. read more

These people are clueless! I took my daughter's used car in...not only did they "forget" to do what we asked. They ordered parts we did NOT ask for...I get post cards, emails advertising their services ALL the time. I have asked them multiple times to take me off their mailing list. I will NEVER use them again! They still have not removed our name and address from their advertising. Do you really want to trust your car to someone who can't control a basic computer program? I found Dan's Auto Center about 18 months ago, when the Beaverton Satrun dealer closed. We have an 11 year old Saturn and a 5 year old Ford, and we have had about 95% of our sevice done at a dealer up until now. Dan's is pretty close to where I work, so I can drop off my car in the morning and walk to/from work. It's very convenient. We chose Dan's because the dealership in the area that said they would service Saturns gave me a several week wait to get in for some basic servicing. Dan's took us in within a day or 2. I've taken both my cars to Dans for various service since then and have been very pleased with their work. They are very courteous, can accomodate my requests in a very timely manner, charge reasonable prices, and do very good work. One time when we had an issue reoccur after a servicing, they took care of it immediately. What put me over the top was that my rear brake light went out 2 weeks ago. I was planning on going to buy a bulb myself but couldn't get around to Oregon City to the closest part store. And then I was going to buy the part online ($14). I called Dan's 2 days ago, and they said to just come by. They gave me some times that they'd be free, and I stopped in yesterday at 1:30pm. They had my brake light fixed in less than 10 minutes, *and* they only charged me $5. I'm sure that was at cost or probably less than their cost for the bulb. So I'll probably be using Dan's for more of our cars' needs going forward! :-) read more

They don't seem to know what they are doing. I asked them to check over my car, specifically the catalytic converter and alternator. I was told an expensive engine cleaner would probably help my catalytic converter. This engine cleaner did nothing but leave soot all over the inside of my windshield that was left uncleaned. I was luckily given a refund for this. I was told I could pick up my car but when I got there my battery was dead. When I asked why my car was dead the guy made up some crazy information that was no where near being true. I took my car to an alternator shop in Oregon city and they replaced the alternator. No longer had a dead battery after that. This is not a fake review and this is for the location off Boone's Ferry. read more

I brought a car in that had locks on the wheels. They claimed they couldn't find the key. Mind you we had the car for 18 years and never lost the key. They charged an arm and a leg to change the tires. That was the first clue. Next, I get a postcard with an all inclusive oil change, tire rotation, brake check and overall check of the vehicle for $39.99. Sounds like a good deal. After 45+ minutes of waiting for my car to get done with the service, yes I did schedule an appointment, I get a phone call that one of the screws in the oil pan won't come out so they have to drill it out. Really? Seems weird but I was in a rush to get it done so I agreed to the extra cost. When I picked up the car I got a $100 oil change. Never rotated the tires, never checked the fluids or brakes, nor did they do anything else on that list. I was scammed the second time. I hate having to be on guard all the time because of people like them. I will never be back. read more

Went in with an appointment. Counter person said well your not on the books. Come to find out the appointment was taking by her. Her manner of speaking to me was I found rude ( Jennifer owners wife). My quote was going to take about 45 mins. It took an hour. Do you want your quote now or when you come back she asked on the phone. "I like to see quotes on paper". The quote was 1025.00. On the quote was a leaking water pump which no one else had found. Since her rudeness continued. I thought this is not a relationship I want to have with a mechanic on my car. The receptionist was helpful at first, but when I didn't want to schedule an appointment, she just flatly said "okay" and then just hung up the phone. Not have a good day, thanks for calling. After the recent snow storm that we had, my 92 Lexus sc300 would not start. I had troubles in the past with starting it which took multiple tries. But after the snow storm it took 10 to even 20 tries to start it. Fed up, I took it here to Dan's Auto Center! Their service was wonderful and they even lent me a car to carry on with my busy day. It has been over a month since they serviced my car and it hasn't felt better! It starts immediately and runs smoothly, I'm very impressed with their services.
