This was my first time at the Tigers Club! It was such a fun experience. The food that was offered was free! There were glizzys, pizza, salad, and an ice cream bar. I do wish there were discounted drinks as the drinks were still expensive. It was nice that the club had AC as we all know it's gets super hot outside in the summer. There were employees walking around to clear off the standing tables. I will say I wish there were more areas to sit - there was a designated indoor viewing area but it was hard to tell where you were allowed to sit or not. But overall a really fun experience! read more

Absolutely the best way to watch a Tigers game. Very well done! The staff were fantastic! Both bartenders were great and very efficient. The food offerings were much better than I had thought they would be. Hot dogs, sausages with all the fixins. Taco/nacho bar. Salad bar. Short rib pasta. Ravioli in mushroom sauce. Large Antipasto bar with pretzel bread, French bread and sourdough. For the price I was very impressed!! We will certainly do this for every game we go to from here on. read more

Though it was expected to be exclusive with the price level ticket perk points out access to the Tiger club, the tiger club informed us that entrance is open to all ticket levels. We could have bought a $6 ticket, hung out in the club with THAT view. The prices are fine. The $6 Bloody Mary bar is misleading. A Bloody Mary is not without vodka. It's $6 for a virgin drink with sticks of stuff. You have to buy shots separate then build it from the bar. The waitstaff was sparse but very nice. We gleamed a lot of great info from them about the stadium. We'll definitely be up there again. read more

We used to come to the Tiger Club for years. Every year - my whole family. We haven't been in the past few years (life...) but finally went again last night. We were SO VERY excited to go & revive the magic of the tradition. But wow. First thing we noticed was no reservations. We all had to run in to make sure there was a table big enough for all of us. Next - no table service? No waiter to take our drink orders? Next - the beautiful Detroit tigers glasses and plates? Replaced with paper plates & plastic utensils. (This is for $60 each - btw) But last - and certainly NOT least - the food! Tacos? Coneys? (We were left to make our own, apparently the person to staff the Coney table was not there) and two kinds of pasta. No fish. No carving table, no sushi. None of the delicious and memorable food we all remembered. And let me also refer you back to the SIXTY DOLLARS PER PERSON charge. It was really all around bad. Food. No service. And paper plates. What a disappointment. read more

Your Dad would be proud.  On another note we went to the Tiger Club  this year (just after the All Star break) with ten of our relatives. We've been coming to the club every year since Comerica opened. It always had a buzz, excellent food and many choices (sushi, carved meat, chicken, a hot fish dish, multiple dessert choices....). Even the fancy dinner plates with the Tiger logo on it were so impressive). What did we find when we arrived at the Club this year? A coney hot dog station, 2 salad choices, and 2 pasta dishes in the buffet. Our table used phrases such as 'sad, pathetic and disappointing'. The buffet came with paper plates and plastic forks and knives. It felt like a sad backyard bbq with sub par food. The only thing missing was the flies. One of my relatives asked if the team was in financial trouble. A manager came by and asked us if we liked the food. We were honest and expressed our disappointment. She said that sometimes change is good. That is true but not in this situation. If this is the new direction, I recommend best to shutter the restaurant. It's an embarrassment to the organization. I spoke to some other people at the restaurant and they were stunned by the changes.  I'm reluctant to mention the 600$ that we paid for hot dogs and pasta. In prior years I was happy to shell out $600+ a healthy tip. This year, not so. Certainly the franchise can do much better. Please restore the club to its prior glory. read more

A must stop when visiting Comerica Park! The panoramic views alone of the park and a break from the heat/elements are where its at! The Tiger Club entrance is right around the right field area. You'll see signage and have to take an elevator up. I have been told the Tiger Club is for season ticket holders only, which we are, but no one stopped us to check our tickets. Once you get off the elevator the staff are very friendly and welcoming. They give direction and explanation of the Tiger Club. The bar and high tops are free game but the tables are reservation only. We came on a rainy Friday night and didn't have a reservation. However, we were able to make one as a walk-in. The tables are for the buffet which is pretty epic and worth the $40 per person. Just be sure to have an empty stomach to really try a bit of everything. There are two seating times for the buffet which helps the flow for diners. While waiting for our table we grabbed a drink at the bar and our bartender was great. Few minutes later we were directed to our table and had an amazing view. The buffet selection is next level - seafood, salads, meat, chili dogs, appetizers, sushi, pasta, and dessert on top of that, plus some more. We went up twice for food and tried a little of everything. Everything was great! A nice lay out of sections with themes to the food and what is being served. To cap it off we had dessert which included a strawberry short cake and a cream puff. The two staff members working the dessert station had great personalities and welcoming. Our waitress was great, cleared away our plates and wasn't pushing us to get out. Bathrooms are a little out of the way and you have to walk around the restaurant. However, the restrooms are much nicer and cleaner than bathrooms throughout the ballpark. Great views, food, and service. Can't beat it! read more

Incredible buffet! For $40 you get chicken, beef , fish all found in this buffet. Excellent cream sauces for the fish. There are hotdogs but don't waste your time o this. The food is better than the non healthy food going on the concourses. There is a dessert section also. You can eat at the bar if you don't have a table. Excellent buffet food! Clean environment! Great place for a special occasion like a birthday. It was not clear exactly how the reservation and tickets worked. Here is what we learned. You can access the place with Tigers tickets to any level. You stick to the bar and high tops if you just get a drink. But if you want the seats, you need to pay for the buffet. Reservations are recommended for the buffet. If you get the second seating, they let you stay the length of the game. Also note, reservations at the restaurant are not enough to get admission, you need to have tickets to the ball park. read more

My experience here was quite good for a ball park. I had thought the food would be bad and it would be very expensive. It was somewhat expensive, all relative. In fact the food was good and better than some of the pricier restaurants I have been to. I loved the fact you can be watching the game and be dining at the same time. The view of the field was quite spectacular, like a movie set environment. Having hot dogs down on the stands was not my idea of a good dinner so this really fulfilled that need. The baked scallops was excellent but they ran out and started serving shrimp which was not as good. By the time I was leaving they were serving tinier shrimps; 2 instead of 1 large shrimp. So going there later is not a good idea. They also ran out of several wines and liquor, to which one of my friends said, the manager should find another job if they can't manage to keep supplies in stock. I agree but I don't drink so that did not affect me in that respect. Service was prompt and courteous unlike some of the other reviews had mentioned. I used to look forward to dining here. Huge, plentiful 'gourmet buffet'. Beautiful view of the ballpark. Food was high quality with a large selection. My husband and I would come here once a season, usually to impress friends with the food and the view. Staff used to be very attentive and professional. None of the above is the case any longer. My husband called for days with no answer to make reservations. Finally he got a live person on the line the day of the game. When we got there, we had to wait for our table for about 20 minutes. Finally we were seated, but not greeted by our server for at least 10 minutes. She ran by our table and said she would be "right with us". Waited another 5 minutes before just giving up and helping ourselves to the buffet. After the four of us were nearing done with our first plates, she finally came to get our drink order. We wanted beers and waters. Beers came, did not get water. We ended up asking her THREE MORE TIMES for water before finally receiving them with our desserts! She was so horrible, and to top it off, gratuity was automatically added at 18%, about $28! Really?! We were quite upset as was some of the other diners in her section. One man actually stood up and said something like "no wonder they don't take care of you, they know they are getting a huge tip no matter the quality of service!" Several other people were vocal in their agreement. She took FOREVER to get us drinks, dessert and the check, as well as to get the credit card back. Was supposed to be seated at the start of the game, we didn't get to our seats until the bottom of the 6th! I have no clue where this place gets off charging automatic tip when the server just gets drinks and dessert. The 'servers' do not even take your used plates! They have separate bussers, and ours was quite attentive-clearing plates quickly and restoring a tiny bit of faith in the employees there. In the past, the staff was professional and friendly. They made you feel important and welcome. This is not the case any longer. The buffet workers are not friendly, do not say hello, and give one-word answers to anything you ask. None of them had smiles, and all looked like they had the worst job ever. Mr. Illitch needs to give them all a lesson in hospitality pronto. The food used to be better. The main course was prime rib from a less-than-enthusiastic beef carver. They used to have friendly chefs making interesting dishes right in front of you at the main entree station. Last season we had some beautiful, huge scallops as one of the specialties! No longer. Pre-made Chicken piccata, cod and beef. BORING! The sushi station was out of salmon. All they had was some gross spicy tuna and veggie rolls. They took away the nachos they used to offer in seasons past. I was not impressed, very disappointed, especially since I had a high opinion before. Highway robbery with the tip added in. For $50 a person after beers, dinner and tip there is about 20 other places in the city I would rather go to. Boo Tiger Club! I will no longer recommend you nor dine there ever again. Thought about giving 2 stars, but really, I have to absolutely deter anyone for wasting their money here. read more

Ooof, I think not. I was lucky enough to get tickets to the World Series and the Tiger Club forthe 1st game on the 27th. We arrived shortly after the doors opened and were seated promptly. The waitress arrived and took the drink order as we headed to the buffett. The food was good, prime rib, scallops, shimp, lamb chops etc. I have no complaints about the food or drinks at all. My beef is with the price..$60, holy crap, can't eat sixty bucks worth of food if you sprinkled it with gold, and then they add 18% tip automatically. I felt the need to review the Tiger Club because my mother and I had a very different experience than the others who reviewed. We arrived on time at 5pm for our 5:15 seating, and we were given (as promised) a fantastic seat by the window. We were greeted by our fantastic server Nina, and she got our drink order and invited us to head to the buffet any time. We watched the Tigers and A's take BP and enjoyed some drinks from the bar which were made well (my mixed drink was, and mom loved her Lieny Summer Shandy) The food selection was good, not HUGE, but they had a good variety, and everything tasted good. Nina was very attentive, and everyone we encountered that worked there was friendly and helpful. I thought for $31 a person, the ambiance, selection, and service was very good. People who complain about the price and "not being able to eat that much" should head to the old country buffet, or order themselves a nice big $5 hot n' ready, and skip the fantastic experience of the Tiger club. As far as gratuity, people need to know that gratuity is how servers are paid, and I'm sure it's included so the waitstaff doesn't get stiffed, which I'm certain is common for baseball game attendees. How far the mighty have fallen. A couple years ago I loved going to the Tiger Club for the buffet or a burger and beer at the bar area. The service was great and attentive. Now, it is a mere shadow of itself. The food is still good, but the service is horrible. Our waitress today was inattentive, slow, and not very friendly. She did her perfunctory duty, but did not go beyond. Another server came over and asked if we needed anything, and boy, that made our server hurry herself over to our table...had to make sure that tip didn't get split! That was before the game. During the game, we went and sat at the bar and I simply ordered a Diet Pepsi. $3.50! For a fountain soda. I gave her 4 singles. She never even came back with the fifty cents! Yes, I would have left her the $.50 anyway, but it's very presumptuous and rude to do that. When you're paying $11 for a simple burger and $3,50 for a soda, you kind of expect a little better service. I don't expect 5-star service in a ballpark club, but I also don't expect worse service than at McDonald's. read more

We were able to call the same day for a reservation. Beautiful window view of the entire ball park. The food was much better than we thought it would be. Something for everyone. Fish, chicken, beef, salads, sushi and a fantastic desert bar!!! The manager visited us a couple of times to make sure things were perfect. I would highly recommend this venue for family or a business outing. Thanks to another Yelp review we were made aware that 18% is automatically put on your bill. The food was delicious and the view of the game was excellent. We went to the 7pm seating which is good because when you're done eating they let you stay at your table until the end of the game. Luckily we had a seat on the window with a good view of the field. The buffet was delicious. Good selection of food and even had hot dogs. Because that's what you eat at a ballgame! Good choice of salads, meat a fish. The aides were also great. The Mac and cheese was the best ice had! The only issue I had was with the waiting Area. There really wasn't an order of where the line if you had reservations was or if you were just going to the bar... I also thought the service was meh. I mean I get the whole it's a buffet and they aren't bringing you food however bringing me drinks should be quicker. Also didn't appreciate the 18% added gratuity. Bar, buffet, and climate controlled comfort is a great way to enjoy a day at the ballpark. The atmosphere and amenities almost make it a five star. I love everything about this experience except the price everything costs too much at a game) and the service (it is mostly TERRIBLE). Plus they add on a service charge/gratuity to every check and then put a line for additional gratuity. We had decent service this last time for the Cleveland game but I really hate when any place adds an automatic gratuity to the bill. TIP stands for To Insure Promptness. If the service sucks you get a poor or no tip. Great service deserves more that the standard 15% or "automatic" 18%. But when places automatically add it I never go above that. Even thought of leaving a negative tip amount when the service is poor. Automatically adding to the bill totally defeats the meaning of tips or gratuities. But they kind of have a monopoly on their product...Go Tigers! read more

This was my first time at the tiger club and I have been to several games. First off, today was a scorcher and it was so nice to find some shade during the game. The food was impressive! Lots to choose from, and a Bloody Mary bar! Aside from the fact that our service was pretty awful, by the time she brought us a drink, we had to get up as the reservations after us were coming in, I thought it was a good experience. Sushi, coneys, pasta, Chinese, you name it, they had it! As I read these reviews, it seems that the service is a common theme. I hope the club cleans it up before listing repeat customers! read more

The buffet was some of the worst food I've ever had, most everything had an odd spin on it like the horseradish mashed potatoes, the hot dog bar had cold wieners and it wasn't coney island chili, the garlic steaks tasted and looked like they were ran over by a truck. On top of all that every person I was with has experienced food poisoning symptoms since we ate there. I've never paid over 100$ to pee out of my butt for 2 days, but I guess that's the experience they are selling. Our waitress, even though gratuity was added to the bill before you paid, seemed to be annoyed and rude to any of our questions. She have no problem though smiling at the couple's who came in looking like they were wealthy. Since I left my Armani suit jacket and Rolex at home, for a Wednesday night ball game, we only got checked on once. The service was friendly if a little bit forgetful, but my two-star rating is for the PRICE...yes, I understand it's a ballpark and you have to expect to be hosed on the prices, but the quality of the food was heat-and-serve at best, and kinda disgusting at worst. Had a great experience at the tiger club last night! We had a party of eight for the 5 o'clock seating. I keep reading about how bad the service is at the club, well let me say our service was fabulous! The food was excellent, halibut, four cheese pasta, and of course prime rib! Connie our sever seemed to always be there at the right time, bussers on top of it too! Thank you tiger club we will be back! Truly enjoyed by all! Our experience was great. We arrived a little early so were present when the doors were opened. We were checked in quickly and seated by our server who took our drink orders immediately. We went to the all you can eat buffet tables for our first plate and our drinks were on the table when we returned. She returned a number of times to see how we were doing. The food varied from hot dogs/coney dogs to sirloin with various side dishes also available. The sirloin was excellent as were the crab cakes and the green beans were cooked perfectly. Although the cost was quite high, the food was top end and we felt as though we had gotten our moneys worth. Since I had made a reservation we were seated at one of the tables next to the windows overlooking the park. Very nice. Service and food was excellent. My only complaint is the added on service charge/gratuity plus the tip line. Either increase the price slightly to accommodate the add on and simply have a tipping line or have only the added on service charge. Be aware that there are apparently two seatings so if you eat early be ready to leave before the second seating. We had close to two hours before we went to our seats outside and arrived a few minutes before the opening ceremonies. If you attend the second seating during the game there are TVs and, of course, if you're seated next to the windows you can watch the game from there. As an aside, I thought the food was superior to that presented at the similar Red Wings buffet which costs about the same. After scrolling down to finish this I noticed the "smoking" query. There is now a cigar bar also which I didn't really check out but I could smell the cigars as I walked nearby to get to the restroom. read more
