Delicious on all levels. I had the Black Sugar Boba & Pearl & Coffee Latte with cream mousse. It was so refreshing and good. Great flavor. The Black Sigar Popcorn and Milk Egg Roll were also very good. Hit the spot for an afternoon snack and pick me up! Definitely will order again from here to try the other drinks. You can choose the sweetness level. Kudos!

Honestly, I was a little overwhelmed by my experience at Tiger Sugar. I didn't understand the kiosk menu, and experienced very little human engagement as I tried to figure out what I wanted to order. The staff were not helpful at all - I'm not sure if it was a language barrier, or just plain indifference. It was kind of a bummer. I got out of line and just watched as others made their orders, which was a great idea because there appears to be so many wonderful drinks. There are coffee and tea-based drinks, and for some reason I couldn't determine one from the other. The descriptions and titles feel a little misleading. Thankfully, I ended up with something that resembled a brown sugar milk tea and it was delicious! It was a little on the weak side for my liking, but it was milky and sugary and had some delicious boba as a treat. I'll try Tiger Sugar again in the future, but I might try to talk one of my Yelp Elite friends who have been there before to be my guide. I need an inside scoop on what's best here!

The flavor is rich and intense. I also love the bubble tea; it's always soft and chewy every time I buy it. This is my favorite shop.

Perfectly made. Not too sweet with lots of mango and sago. Service was quick, even when the place was a little busy.

First time here and it was a nice experience! The shop was very cute and spacious. They had a self serving tablet which was nice and had a mini section for claw machines with adorable plushies. I got the green tea fruit tea with lychee & it was refreshing! Love the lychee with it. The matcha brown sugar tea was good but the tapioca pearls were very mushy. All in all, fast service and great spot!

Tiger sugar is my favorite boba spot for a sweet treat! Before Tiger sugar I was never a fan of brown sugar boba but after trying their #5 brown sugar with boba and pudding with cream mouse changed me! The boba is warm and chewy and they have a proprietary 8-hour method for cooking their syrups and tapioca pearl. Talk about quality! Golden oolong tea with cheese mousse is also one of my favorite, you can really taste the tea in this drink its sweet and roasty overall recommend trying. Quick friendly service. Good menu of drinks with lots of variety and lots of tea/milk options, but the way it's described can be kind of confusing. The quality of drinks is awesome and there is never a line. Order ahead on the phone if you're in a rush!

The drinks were good and the place was empty so service was quick. What I found weird was the lack of decor and what they do have is kinda cheesy and half done. Additionally, it's quiet and even when empty you're still required to use the kiosk to order where some sticky notes are provided to guide you but that's all. Meanwhile there are two women behind a caged in area, likely going with the theme, and they are just silently chatting to one another. No conversation with us whatsoever and then once the drinks were done they quietly said "drinks ready" and gestured then went back to talking. It feels kind of awkward and impersonal. Again, drinks are good, decent price, just not the nicest place in terms of decoration/seating or staff service.

#1. Black Sugar Boba and Pearl Milk

    1. Black Sugar Boba and Pearl Milk is my go to here ! I get Tiger Sugar anytime I'm near one and it always tastes the same. Superrrr good

I'm probably not the best person to advise on Tiger Sugar since I'm not a fan of super sugary drinks or boba tea. The tapioca balls are a turn off for me; it's a texture thing! So I surprised myself when after taking a sip, I found myself saying out loud, "wow, this is good!" Stopped here with a friend after a HomeGoods visit and we noticed Tiger Sugar across the parking lot. The grand opening signs caught our attention. We wandered in and checked out the menu. There are a variety of drinks and evidently it's the brown sugar that gives the teas a caramel flavor; and with the skill of the baristas, create the signature brown Tiger stripes in every cup. The biggest surprise were the tapioca balls. Unlike the thick, chewy, gag-causing tapioca balls I've had in the past, these were melt in your mouth, no endless chewing required! Very pleasant surprise! The malt chocolate flavor was fabulous, and yes sweet. I only drank half not wanting to consume an entire day's worth of calories in one drink! Especially a non-alcoholic one. My drink of choice is typically water as I prefer to eat my calories! Service was friendly and helpful as I asked a myriad of questions before selecting my drink and they wete very patient with me. My friend doesn't have all the issues with tapioca or sugar so loved the Sugar Tiger tea unabashedly! Will never be my go to for all the reasons I stated, but on a hot day after doing a HomeGoods run, I'm sure I'll be craving a malted chocolate Tiger again.

I know this is a popular chain but I was kind of let down after trying this place out. I got the brown sugar mochi boba with cream mousse and it was okay... it was kind of grainy (maybe from the mochi?). The drink tastes like milk from a soggy bowl of healthy cereal. My sister got the mango drink and that was okay as well. The boba is soft so that's good. I also like how they have a self serve kiosk which helps when the workers are too busy making drinks. My drink was $7.75 for a large and my sisters was $8. The price is very steep for some mid boba, or any boba at that

I found a new favorite! I'm so happy this place opened in Beaverton. We ordered two classic signature Tiger drinks (#1). Presentation is on point and makes you want to get one even if you initially weren't in the mood for one. Milky brown sugar with boba. Yum! My toddler loves it. Also, they offer milk substitutes like soy. Staff is friendly :) They were playing kpop music! We got a complimentary popcorn bag, thank you! More drinks coming soon--taro, mango, and green tea drinks. Happy Year of the Tiger! We'll be back.

Great to see this international chain open an outpost in the Portland Metro area... It's wonderful to see the breadth of bubble tea options and Tiger Sugar offers distinction from many of its competition. Their signature drink consists of fresh milk with brown sugar boba and cream mousse. The "tiger stripes" from their syrups add a cool visual component to the presentation. Having sampled this drink overseas and elsewhere in the US, the local quality is pretty good but not mind-blowing. The boba doesn't quite have a strong maltiness that comes with intense brown sugar caramelization. It's not as sweet as I've had elsewhere, so there's less balance with the milk as I've experienced at their other locations. That's not to say that it's not good or enjoyable... it's both. I just have higher expectations on quality consistency as it's a global franchise. Nonetheless, I would recommend giving them a try and sampling their other options as well. Their golden oolong tea has good tea strength and fragrance. Once their full menu is available, I do plan to go back and try their taro and matcha options.

Ask the Community - Tiger Sugar

Are there any verified gluten free options here? I know boba tea in and of itself should be gluten free, but certain flavors or additives could have gluten. Thanks for any info.

That made me giggle a little... It's mostly gluten free unless they add gluten ingredients which isn't common, but I recommend asking them in person.

What do these drinks usually cost?

It was $6 for only one size (size was in between a M and L from the standard bubble tea shop)

Do they offer non-dairy/vegan milk options (not powdered)?

They have lactose and soy milk available as a non-dairy milk option

When is the grand / soft opening for this tiger sugar location?

I believe it opens Feb 5.

I've tried both the ube coconut latte and the black sesame latte, each made with plant-based milk instead of regular milk. The ube coconut latte was smooth, well-balanced, and not overly sweet. The black sesame latte, however, was the standout for me. It had a rich, nutty flavor and is hands-down my favorite of the two. I don't believe it's a regular menu item, so if you happen to see it, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. Loro is on the pricier side, which is why I don't visit as often as I'd like, but I genuinely think it's worth it. The quality of the food and drinks makes it feel like a special treat.
