    Fried Deviled Eggs

Found this gem about 3 miles off the interstate while driving home from Tennessee to Mississippi. Friendly small-town vibes. Great service and great country style lunch options at a good price. Wife and I will definitely make it a point to visit this place again when we pass through! We had never had fried deviled eggs before! They were AWESOME.

It is definitely a hidden gem. We were staying in the hotel area in Fort Payne to visit the parks over the weekend. I wanted to try a local place on our way to DeSoto Falls and this place got my attention. During my visit, I noticed many places were either closed or had very different business hours for the weekends. That's the reason I wanted to call beforehand to make sure they were open. They did open on Sunday until 2pm. Perfect! Tiger's Inn is a small, cute, and very cozy restaurant. The people were very friendly. The price was very affordable. We got cups of coffee to start with. Our sweet server mentioned to us their special of the day, which was free Fried Deviled Eggs. We also ordered Shrimp and Grits for my partner, and I got the Steak and Potato Skillet. The steak came with biscuits and gravy on the side. Everything was amazing, so yummy, cooked to perfection. Portions were quite big. We were so full that we got leftovers. I loved the deviled eggs. They were my favorite. Idk how they made it, but I would like to know :) Must try place!

Try the fried deviled eggs...you're welcome! No, seriously they were awesome and everything we got was very good. We stopped in here for dinner while we were staying in Mentone for the night. It's just a couple of miles away and worth a visit.

Fried Deviled Eggs pulled straight from the depths of hades with a creamy, flavor full filling, and eggs crisped to the right temperature.

In the valley is a gem that reflects the goodness, hospitality, and great southern cooking that can only be found in rural America. The service was great and the chef did an amazing job with our meals. Probably, the best home town restaurant in this part of Alabama. Plus, veterans and first responder discount!

You get 4 of the fried deviled eggs, this was just the last one before I devoured it!

The food was delicious!! My husband and I were in town on a weekend getaway and tried the Tigers Inn. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Everything thing we ate was delicious!! You have to try the Fried deviled eggs - Yum! And do not leave without trying the Apple fritter with a scoop of vanilla ice cream....oh my goodness!?! To die for!!

We stopped by after visiting Miracle Pottery on July 5th. We were seated right away and could tell this was a local place. We ordered the hamburger and fries ($9.49), Italian Sausage and fries($9.29) and Hamburger steak with corn salad and squash casserole($9.99). The wait was not long for our lunch. The hamburger was good and the fries were also. The Italian Sausage was fair and the Hamburger steak was good. The recommendation of corn salad was very good and the squash casserole reminded us of being kids. The food is a diner style and was ok. We did chase a fly while we ate which was a bit annoying. Overall our lunch was fair, we might stop by on our next visit to the pottery.

So I do hope that you guys will read through some these reviews with an open mind. We waited, probably about 20 minutes to be seated, which isn't too bad, especially without reservations and as another yelper mentioned wait times. The prices were very reasonable compared to some of the mass chain restaurants you find or even other spots outside of Mentone. The only critique I have would be for our server savanah. She kind of rushed us a little bit with bringing us a check before we were quite finished. I chalk it up to her being young and maybe not as experienced, but she was very friendly.

Hubs ordered the Goodfella Pizza, with a couple of deletions, and loved it. I chose the Elana Ruz sandwich and it was glorious! Not exaggerating, that sandwich was such a delicious combination of flavors. We were able to find seats inside while we waited, and then hubs found a table outside right before our food was ready. The weather was delightful so we enjoyed sitting outside. We loved the overall vibe, although inside was a little loud. Their decor everywhere was so much fun! We also appreciated the drink refills as we headed out. As we left, we saw tons of parking in an adjacent lot, which I've noted for future visits. Mountain Goat Market is now definitely a must-do on our next trip to The Caverns.

The meal took only a few minutes to prepare and we were eating by 12:55 The Reuben looked amazing as did the pizza. I was a little jealous. Especially since I ordered the fiesta burrito and found it to be mostly ... just.... okay. I was disappointed that the gift / souvenir shop was closed.

The drive through the Mentone area is always beautiful and there's lots of cool studios and artsy things to do in the surrounding area. I will say they absolutely delivered on the Alice in Wonderland theme. It's wall-to-wall memorabilia, decorations, and cute ideas that allude to the classic story. If you're an Alice fan...definitely check it out. I wouldn't mind a few more Cheshire cats, though. :) Service was okay, honestly a bit disheveled and didn't seem in the best mood. We arrived early for lunch around 11:15. They initially sat our party of 3 at a table with chairs for 8-10. My mom even asked if they were sure they wanted to put us there and they affirmed the decision. They seemed confused that we were there and unsure what to do with us, even though I don't think anyone else who came in after us had a reservation or anything. Anyway, about 5 minutes later a giant party rolled up and they wound up moving us anyway. Fortunately we hadn't gotten drinks or anything yet. Due to the large size of some of the furniture pieces, navigation around the restaurant can be a little challenging. Also, the chair I sat in at table 2.0 had a sort of musty smell that I didn't love, lol. Minor nitpicks but it does sort of add up. Anyway, we placed our orders for food. They have a nice menu for teas and I'm sure it would be fun to have a tea party here, but it was too hot for me to partake. My mom got the biscuit BLT, my dad had a turkey wrap, and I got the chicken and biscuits, which is a bit like a chicken pot pie without bottom crust. For sides, my parents got the baked potato salad and crunchy pea salad, and I got the southern hot corn casserole. The sides were definitely the high point. The pea salad was crisp and refreshing and the baked potato salad was creamy and flavorful. My corn casserole wasn't terribly spicy but had a nice blend of flavors and textures, though it was perhaps slightly overcooked (the cheese on top was approaching crispy). They also didn't initially bring it out with my meal, but got it quickly after I asked for it. The entrees, however, fell flat. Mine was probably the most successful but it was ultimately pretty bland and there wasn't a whole lot of chicken in the meal -- mostly biscuits and gravy/filling. My mom's bacon in her BLT was very badly overcooked (even for someone who likes crispier bacon) and the biscuits were pretty crumbly. And my dad's turkey wrap was super underwhelming, about like what you'd buy pre-prepared from the deli section at Target or something. I sound like I'm coming across harsh and I wouldn't say we had a bad time, just the food didn't really meet our hopes/expectations. Definitely delivered on theme and decor. I think it's worth a try if you're a huge Alice in Wonderland fan or just enjoy whimsy in your life. The menu is creative and breakfast offerings sound good; perhaps it just wasn't quite our day that day. I'm glad I got the chance to try it out though.

The Copper Penny was our choice! Be warned, parking is pretty limited. But it's so worth a visit! This is a sort of cafe style restaurant with sandwiches, soups, and lots of more gourmet homemade baked goods. They have lunch specials that come with a 1/2 sandwich and soup, though the sandwich choices are somewhat pared down compared to the main menu. The inside is airy and bright and the furniture is comfortable. You order at the counter. Staff was incredibly personable. The man who helped us later shared he was the owner's son. He welcomed everyone with genuine warmth and was eager to answer any and all questions people had. Our food came out in a reasonable time but there was a slight wait - though the apparent freshness made that more than worthwhile. My dad ordered a full Reuben sandwich; mom and I both chose the 1/2 sandwich and soup special. She got chicken salad and I got a grilled cheese. Both of us selected the red pepper soup. They have canned soda, which is what my dad got. I got a house-brewed sweet tea, which was gargantuan, delicious, and came with refills, though I can't imagine needing one based on how generous the portion was! Everyone's food was delicious. My grilled cheese was cooked absolutely perfectly and I could taste the flavors of each different cheese. The soup was so flavorful and comforting, the perfect thickness with nice crunchy croutons to pour on top at my leisure. Mom liked her chicken salad a lot, enjoying the fresh fruit inside the salad, and my dad was wowed by his Reuben. One of the better ones he's had in a while, he said, with lots of kraut, bread that stood up to it, and hearty corned beef. For dessert, we split a slice of hot cocoa cheesecake. For me, this was the only thing that was a *little* flat (I thought it was a little closer to a torte than a cheesecake and wished it had been a tiny bit fluffier), but the flavors were nice and my parents really enjoyed it. I got a peanut butter cupcake to take home for later and it fully redeemed their baked goods; it was delightfully moist, good icing to cake ratio, and bursting with PB flavor! I am not a huge cupcake girl and I could've eaten a dozen of these, lol. I hear tell they have a new, second location that opened in Fort Payne. Either spot, I'm sure, is outstanding. I'd highly recommend trying out this locally owned business. It has so much heart, thoughtfulness, and delicious food to offer!
