First time we ordered the family taco kit, and we got just the toppings tray - no tacos, tortillas, or chips. Second time it arrived 2.5 hrs late. I've only been to this chain once or twice before. It was $2 tacos so we decided to give it a try. I am really glad we did. The tacos were delicious exclamation point I love the sauce bar with every type of sauce imaginable ranging from sweet to blazing hot and everything in between. The price was definitely right on the day we went as they were running a special and Tacos were $2. I like the fact that you can get beer at this establishment as well. The setup is a little unique in that you order at the counter, pay at the counter, and then a server will deliver the goods to your table. Young lady who took my order was pleasant, seemed to enjoy her job, and had a million questions to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. This was an overall good experience. If you like tacos, or Mexican food in general, and are willing to give a chain restaurant a try, I think this place is worth stopping in. read more

This place is incredible! The service is always over the top, the food always comes out quick and delicious!! I won't go to any other Tijuana flats because they never compare! I bring my friends here and they're always amazed at how good the food is! Every time i come in the restaurant is clean and the employees all look like they're happy to be there! They're always smiling and singing along to the music and just overall super helpful! I like to go here for a quick Mexican food craves. But recently I've found out that, did you all notice that when you order your salad bowl to-go it is half the size of the salad bowl if you have eat in? And the prices for the eat-in and to-go salad bowl are the same? Whenever my family and I went here, I always order the salad bowl to eat-in and it's huge, the salad are a lot in that bowl. But recently, my family and I went here, I ordered to eat-in but the girl who took my order, she put it as to-go. When the food brought out in boxes and plastic bags, we just sit and eat there because that's our plan is to eat-in. My husband open the salad box for me and he noticed that it's smaller than the one we used to eat-in. I could just take like 5 bites of the salad and it's gone. So, my conclusion is that if you want to make your money worth and your stomach satisfied, eat-in your salad bowl or order to eat-in and asked for a container to put that big salad bowl to go or I think we all should tell the manager to change their way of packing to-go the same way as eat-in. read more

Can't believe I've been here so many times yet never written a review. Corporate chains are really so predictable it's almost a waste of a review because most people know what they are getting be it good or bad before they even walk thru the door. For the most part TF has been one of the consistently good American Mexican food establishments. Let's not fool ourselves here, there isn't anything Mexican about this food except the fact that they serve tortilla chips and jalapeños but the food is seasoned well and it seems to be fresh. They are known for having a "hot bar" that has a large variety of hot sauces but I don't think a single one is Mexican food based but it is a great variety. They have seasoned tortilla chips that are better than just plain chips. Salsa is good and the quest dip is good as well. Nice people clean atmosphere. read more

I drove here on a Monday night to have dinner with my baby sister before leaving town. I arrived at 9p, which was listed as an hour before closing time. We walked up to the door and noticed a sign that said "We're closing at 9". I motioned at the girl inside and she came to the door and confirmed that they were closed due to the rain. I'm a Floridian, no one closes due to rain unless there is a category 4+ hurricane. I asked if they could even make us a couple tacos and she said they'd already thrown the food away... Strange. Called the location in Wesley Chapel to be sure they were open, and when I described the situation the girl was absolutely shocked. She couldn't understand why they would close and lie about throwing food out. Headed there and had a great time. I've been to this location one other time a year or so ago... The service was lacking and the food wasn't up to standard. Save yourself a drive and go elsewhere. read more

I'm not going to say its easy for a restaurant to do it right. Afterall, there are hundreds of Yelp reviews that say otherwise. But in my opinion a restaurant doesn't reveal its true colors until it messes up and has to fix it. Some places can't do it. They laugh at what they've done, offer you nothing, make no effort to salvage your visit and send you on your way. I've eaten at Tijuana Flats in Lutz more times than I'd like to admit. Its right by my place of employment and on that rare opportunity we go out to eat, this is usually our destination. My wife loves Tijuana Flats nachos and so, as a cheap treat to her before a party, we stopped and grabbed some food to go. I remained in the car with our sleeping baby. She headed in and ordered vegetarian nachos for herself and a dairy free burrito for me. When she returned we decided to tear into our meals right then and there. It was pitch black in the car and very hard to see what we were about to eat. I was a bit nervous, I've been to enough places that deal with a lot of cheese who just throw it on without even thinking about it and botch the order. To my relief, they had gotten it right. No cheese, no sour cream, lots of salsa. Just how I like it. Unfortunately they had botched J-Fur's nachos bad. She ate a few bites and tasted a strange saltiness. We turned on the lights and...her nachos were covered in meat. J-Fur has been a vegetarian for going on fourteen years. She is the one who get me into it. Those few bites were enough to send this stressed out mommy into a fit of despair. She started to cry. We woke the baby and carried the nachos back into the restaurant. I was ready to lambast them, you just can't mess up something like this. But before I could even say anything to the manager, J-Fur began crying again. She explained through tears that she was a vegetarian and her nachos had meat on them. The manager listened, stared her directly in the eyes the entire time and never moved to belittle or dismiss what she said. When she was done explaining it he apologized profusely and offered to make her another batch of nachos. He also refunded her credit card and said they were on the house. Then, and this is where I truly believe he went above and beyond, he brought out a twenty-five dollar gift card and gave it to her apologizing again for what happened. That, my friends, is how you fix a situation. In my opinion, Tijuana Flats is a three star joint. They make burritos and nachos that are okay, their salsa is so so, their hot sauce bar and desserts are pretty cool but I won't go out of my way to visit there. But this branch, the one who stepped up to fix something they did wrong, gets that extra star for their approach to customer service. read more

I've been a long time customer of the store located in 54 in Lutz/land o lakes. We have been regulars twice a week for over a year. Ever since you recently had management changes the store is horrible. Food is always wrong. Takes two or three times sending it back to get it right. Manager Kyle was very rude to me. Tijuana Flats has pretty good fast-casual American-style Mexican food, but I want to call out the Lutz store for its top-notch courtesy. We stopped in, I on my feet and Jodi in her wheelchair, and the staff instantly saw that the queue would be a bit awkward because of how it was laid out. An employee took our orders outside of the queue, and when I mentioned I'd be driving while eating (thus cheese sauce on top would be bad), they offered to cut mine in half for my convenience. We only had ten minutes to get in and out before we'd be late to our next event, and Tijuana Flats nailed that requirement too. Thanks, y'all! read more

I LOVE Tijuana Flats. I've been to many different locations now but this one stuck out to me because of their phenomenal staff. I was here on a Friday night around 5pm with my mom (Tijuana newbie). We were on the way to a Journey concert and wanted some good grub that wasn't exorbitantly overpriced. I ordered two hardshell (corn) beef tacos with a side of churros and my mom, two flautas (lightly fried tortillas stuffed with carnitas (pulled pork) and cheese and served with toppings on the side. Once our food was delivered to our table, staff members kept coming to our table to make sure there wasn't anything we needed. It was really nice and I commend them for excellent customer service. The food was superb. I really wish I had a TIjuana Flats closer than 50 min away but I suppose that's what makes trips here so special. I savored every delicious bite of my tacos and they even gave me a free cup of salsa. My mom let me try her flautas and they were so tasty and fresh. The tortilla was fried to perfection and the flavors of the pork were outta this world! The churros were fresh and covered in a perfect mixed bed of cinnamon and sugar. They give you a cupfull and I ended up sneaking them into the concert and enjoying them much more than the folks with freezer burned corndogs and soggy fries. read more

Not as good as it used to be, bland and for a higher price. Pretty disappointing considering Tiajuana Flats used to be a frequent stop for me. ***UPDATE*** Have ordered from here since and they actually still have green onions and the tomatoes were really red. I love tiajuana flats! Queso is one of my favorite things about mexican foods and I like their queso. When I ate here I got a chicken quesadilla with all of the toppings except for sour cream. I also got a large side of queso :) you order what you want at the counter and they give you your drinks there. After we sat down the food came out fairly quickly. The quesadillas are always tasty, but the one I got the past time was a little watery so didn't stay together well. When I picked up part of the quesadilla parts were falling everywhere, which made it difficult to eat. Although it was juicy it still tasted good. I also enjoyed the queso. I have tried the flautas at tiajuana flats and they are tasty. This location was clean, the staff was friendly, and the food tasted good. read more

This location is always busy! When you walk in, you are greeted by "welcome" and "do you need a menu to look at." The customer service is very good, very helpful, and while you eat, they ask to refill your drinks. When you walk in you will notice a sauce bar, (so cool)! Each sauce has what it is and how hot. I had the fish tacos with grilled mahi-mahi, fresh, cabbage, handmade pico, and topped with Southwest Citrus Vinaigrette. You can make it a meal so it comes with rice and beans or just as it is with chips. My boyfriend got the chicken burrito. Its toasted and you have a choice of filling with loads of toppings. He got a meal so it came with rice and beans. We also got a small order of their queso. The food is good, atmosphere is loud and fun, but it can be pricey. With our fish taco, chicken burrito meal, side of queso, and two soft drinks(their ice is my fav-crushed!) It came to around $25.00. I would recommend the Churros! My husband took me here for the first time and i was very close-minded at first (mostly because I'm not big of change for restaurants) but i was BEYOND SURPRISED. The food was so good but the SERVICE WAS SO MUCH BETTER! I don't remember the girls name who served us, manager or not, she was great! We have lived by this location for awhile and decided to finally try it. I ordered online and picked up the food when I got there. The staff was very attentive and I was in and out in 1 minute. The disappointment lies in the food. We ordered a steak quesadilla and bean enchiladas and the quesadilla had almost no cheese on it. How does one mess up a quesadilla?? Worst Tijuana Flats ever! We sat at a table where you can see the kitchen and it was soooooooo dirty. The girls prepping the food had long hair and wore no hair restraint. They messed up our order and the food was sloppily thrown on the plate. The entire bottom of my husbands plate was covered in queso. Food also took forever to come out. After we left I checked their health inspection report (should have done that before we ate there).... needless to say they have a number of violations that could cause food poisoning! Oh Tijuana how I miss you!!!!! Why can't we have you here in the LOU? I am not a big mexican food fan, and in fact, I hardly ever eat tacos. I was out one day with my mother shopping and the conversation of what to eat for lunch came up. Since we were right in the area I was willing to give this place a try based on my mother's reviews. I am so glad I did because I honestly think I had the BEST chicken taco of my life! 2 chicken tacos, rice, and refried beans all for around $6!!! Are you kidding me?!?! I took that first bite and I immediately knew I was hooked. Wow. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Hot damn. I need a Tijuana Flats to be here now. The service was great and the people we so friendly. I'm a big fan of Mexican, Tex-mex, whatever. I usually find myself at vallartas or when I'm with the kids, Moes. I hadn't been to Tijuana flats in probably ten years! I was very pleased. I ordered the beef and bean flautas. They were very tasty. I got a side of guac too which tasted pretty fresh, just needed a bit more cilantro, lime, and salt. The chips and queso were terrific. My husband, who's a big fan of the queso at Moes, said this was much better. The chips were very crisp and fresh and the queso had a good flavor. Our boys enjoyed their tacos and nachos. I am closer to this one than the one on 56 next to Sams. I call in my order. First 2 times you were great. Third time in May I called and no one picked up the phone. Second time my order was placed. But it was #4 that really irked me beyond anything! Call in my order, phone rings for a while then when picked I was told to hold for a minute. I am a patient guy, but 10 minutes later nothing! So,I hang up and call again..no one picks up. I called the TF across from Sams and no hold, order ready in 5 minutes. Sorry LOL TF. Not cool at all! Tijuana Flats is probably my favorite fast food mexican restaurant. I love their Atom Bombs and chips and salsa. That is the most fun part of going to Tijuana Flats in my opinion, trying all the great flavors of salsa in all the varying heat categories.
