This is a must place to go for authentic Mexican food...! Food -- The menu is made up of plenty of mouthwatering options that will satisfy all appetites. Ordered: *Fresh table side guacamole -- This is a must have. Fresh ingredients and the right amount of spices make this a delectable starter. *Fajita Texana -- A trio of steak, chicken and shrimp served with all the sizzling fixings -- plenty of bell peppers, onions, tomatoes. This dish is shareable and incredibly mouthwatering. It's served with rice, beans, pico de gallo, sour cream and tortillas: a perfect pairing for this dish. All fresh with a homestyle taste. *Margaritas -- This staple of a Mexican drink is like no other. Full of flavor, topped with dry edible fruits in a beautifully crafted glass. Service -- Our server was incredible: always courteous, professional and welcoming. Ambiance -- What a delightful and colorful place. Mariachis stop by every table and sign their hearts out; they even accept special song requests. This place is great for celebrations. There were so many birthday celebrations that evening and all were treated with spectacular happiness. Cannot say enough of this place...just that I loved it...! Cannot wait to come back when I am back in Tampa.

This restaurant is well decorated. The interior is beautiful and intriguing. I like black light reflecting for the color. The light fixtures also are well designed. If you come here for the day of the death, the celebration match the decoration. We got the lunch fajitas. It is a lot of food. My wife has the enchiladas. My fajita has chicken and steak. It comes with rice, flour tortillas, bean, salsa, and more. Unfortunately the steak chicken is not on the skillet. Overall our experience is good. Love the food.

My first impression when I walked in the restaurant: Wow, it is beautiful! The walls got those big, glow in the dark, day of the dead theme paintings. The lighting, the furniture, the bar are all eye - catching decorated. They have extensive menu from popular Mexican dishes to seafood to sushi and cocktail drinks. I ordered a lunch special chicken chimichanga. It was quite good. I liked the flavor and texture. It wasn't very salty. The roll was full of chicken meat. The portion was normal not particularly big, but it was enough for me as lunch. There were chips and salsa before the meal arriving. They have enough stuff members; service was fast and attentive. Spanish songs as background music provided such chill vibe. Good food and service, excellent atmosphere, easy parking-this place is awesome.

A group of us came here to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, and while we expected a bit of a wait with a party of 12, nearly two hours was tough. We arrived around 6:30 PM and weren't seated until well after 8:00. The restaurant had noted they weren't taking reservations due to the holiday, but you could join a waitlist upon arrival--which we did. What made it more frustrating was watching other large groups linger at their tables after finishing, leaving just one person behind to "hold" the spot while they went out to enjoy the festivities. Meanwhile, we saw smaller groups being seated, which made the wait feel even longer. Once we were finally seated, service started off a bit slow. It took some time for staff to come by, and when our food arrived, multiple servers were bringing out dishes without clear organization--walking around the table until someone claimed each plate. That said, the food itself was a highlight. I ordered the Chicken Quesadilla Fajita, which was delicious and a generous portion--enough for leftovers. I also tried the mango margarita; while it leaned more toward an orange flavor than mango, it was still enjoyable. The atmosphere was vibrant and fun, especially for Cinco de Mayo. There was lively music, colorful and creative wall art, and even a photo-op wall, which added to the experience. Parking, however, was another challenge--it was chaotic, with cars parked on curbs and anywhere they could fit. Overall, while the wait and initial service were frustrating, the food and atmosphere made it a memorable visit. I'd be willing to give it another try on a regular day to see how the experience compares--and to explore more of the menu, since everyone in our group enjoyed their meals.

Obsessed with this place! The best Mexican food I've found in Tampa since I've moved here. The vibes are so fun, it's very high energy and family friendly. I have yet to try anything that I haven't liked. Service can be a little slow sometimes but it's because they're always busy no matter what time of the day you go.

This place was great. My friends and I went here for dinner and each ordered something different. The restaurant was well decorated and when you sit down a guacamole cart comes to you to see if you are interested. The Guacamole is made table side, and totally suggest you do it. The guacamole was wonderful. It was just spicy enough with the hint of the lime at the end. A friend of mine got the fajitas three ways, steak, chicken and shrimp, this has a slight smokiness to it. Another got the steak trio which again is just steak, chicken and shrimp but it's served with a sauce I had the street taco six pack. The tacos come with pickled onions hidden under the limes so don't miss them. Everything was very good. The refried beans were so good, while the rice was a little bland. the desserts smelled wonderful but by the time we got done we didn't have any room for anything else to be added, try to get a booth as the table chairs are really uncomfortable. Service was slow but they were busy so don't go expecting prompt and attentive staff.

First time trying this Mexican place and it caught me by surprise! The menu is extensive and the atmosphere is fun and vibey. Go hungry as the portions are generous and fit for sharing. I've got the stone pot El Dorado which has a whole fish alone with seafood mixes, and it was delicious. The table side fresh guacamole is a must with their non stop chips and salsa. If you enjoy a margarita, get the jumbo and you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend!

Fresh quac, salsa and queso. The chips were made fresh too. And they were quick to give us more when we scarfed the first batch down.

Amazing. Just what this area needed. We were seating quickly and then served fresh chips and salsa immediately (this is how we new it was an authentic place!) we also ordered guac which was made from scratch right in front of us, and had the queso (which was perfect.) Bathrooms were beautiful and the entire place was large, clean, well decorated. staff was nice. I ordered the La placita tacos and they were too fried and cheesy for my taste, but I liked the rice and beans that came with it. My husband had the enchilada and I'll think I'll order that next time it was incredible.

Wow! How much fun is this adorable Mexican joint?! I never knew this place existed so I'm super glad that my aunt picked it out as a treat for my birthday. The way they celebrate birthdays makes me want to come here every year! First off, the menu is HUGE. Lots of food options - even sushi! I actually think I saw pasta on their menu too. I had a medium mango margarita on the rocks (which turned out to be a gigantic drink). We ordered the queso with the complimentary chips which was so good it almost completely ruined my appetite. For my meal, I ordered the chicken chimichangas. My only complaint about this dish was that the chimichangas were not really deep fried. They did come smothered in their delicious cheese sauce, but they were more like burritos than chimichangas to me. My aunt had the steak which was presented beautifully with a bell pepper cut into the shape of a flower. Service was solid. Our server was super nice and attentive to our needs. The best part of our visit was the animated birthday song with sparklers, and complimentary tequila shot (video attached). You MUST visit this Mexican place, stat.

This food was delicious. We even got non alcoholic horchatas for our beverage. The food had such great flavor. They serve hot chips and salsa when you get seated. The waiter took our order and the food was ready pretty quick. He was a really good waiter. The decorations are day of the dead. The murals on the wall were beautiful. This was worth the visit. Will be visiting again soon.

Trio tacos, don't remember the exact name.

Plaza Tapatia is a fiesta for the senses--bold flavors, lively atmosphere, and warm hospitality all in one stop. The birria tacos were absolutely spot on, juicy, flavorful, and served with a decline consommé that I could happily drink by the cup. The tableside guacamole was another star--fresh, zesty, and customized right in front of you. You can taste the difference when it's made this fresh. Service was friendly and quick, and the menu has plenty of variety for every taste. Definitely a great spot for groups or family dinners.

We've had the best luck sitting at the high-top tables by the bar, especially when David is our server. The lobster bisque is the star of the show and is definitely worth trying. I usually go for the lobster rolls. They aren't the absolute best I've ever had, but they're pretty close--and with limited options in the area, they're a solid choice. The Atlantic Haddock Dinner is also very good. One thing I would recommend staying away from is the vegetables. They don't taste fresh and seem to be canned, which is disappointing. They also have a few weekly and weekend specials that are worth checking out. Overall, I do recommend The Great Catch, especially if you're looking for a change from the usual chain restaurants. Just choose your seating and, if you can, ask for David!

I was confused. I took this place off our list. We attempted to go back again yesterday because my uncle wanted a lobster roll and wanted to spend time with the family. He ordered the lobster roll that was $50 then he was charged extra for side dishes that the menu already said came with them. I questioned the server and they said they asked whoever was in charge and they told her he said it was known as premium sides. These are basic sides and their menu no where listed premium sides as an option. I understand a soup maybe more but he ordered sweet potato fries and a potato, the soup was a third choice for this roll. $54 for a foot long lobster roll is insane and then to be charged for 6-8 fries and a small potato as premium sides. Please stop changing the menu. My husband wanted to ask for a manager to complain but we just left. We will go back to Zeph where nothing has changed. The service and the drink specials are why we came back here for the second time.

You are looking at spending at least $98 for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids, no matter which restaurant you go to - it seems like the market does a good job at leveling the pricing competition between these restaurants. Crafty Crab is located essentially smack-dab in the center of Grand Plaza of the Carrollwood area. Although we didn't have issues with finding parking around 6-7pm on a Tuesday evening, the plaza can get quite busy with one row of parking on each side of a two-way lane that parallels the plaza. As we walked into Crafty Crab, it did have a cleaner feel and presentation compared to another local boil spot. Our waiter/server was great and extremely patient with us as we contemplated our choices. He continued with the positive energy throughout the service which made our experience at Crafty Crab rather nice. ***Not sure if it was standard practice, but he offered to empty the boil bag onto the aluminum tray (compared to leaving it in the bag) as an option which made navigating the morsels easier in my opinion. It also made for saucing the steam rice easier - just slap that jawn onto the tray, mix, and enjoy.*** What I enjoyed about Crafty Crab, is that they seem to offer better combinations when it came to the seafood deals. Dungeness crab is our staple, and they had a great combo that pair Dungeness crab with snow crab and headless shrimp. The fried calamari came with not only marinara, but also a spicy-mayo-wasabi sauce that slapped. Overall, you can't go wrong with Crafty Crab if you're looking for your Cajun boil fix!
