    Bangin' Chicken Tostadas

I hadn't been to Tijuana Flats in a long time, but decided to stop in for a taste. I ordered something new that I had never gotten before which was their tostadas. They turned out so yummy with all of their sauces. The smack my a and call me sally sauce is always my favorite hot sauce. In my opinion it is the perfect blend. I will definitely stop by again. I ate outside and the weather was nice. It is conveniently located near a bunch of stores if you're into taking a walk after eating.

Tonight I ordered the steak bowl with everything and it was pretty yummy, especially paired with their brown butter spicey sauce. Next time I'd skip the jalapeños as they were very spicy. For about $12, which is very close to the price of Chipotle which is next door, this was a nice change of pace. I'd like to try more things on their menu.

So yesterday I experienced Tijuana Flats in a new location in Viera. It happened to be taco tuesday which clearly means the place was slammed. I waited in line while I enjoyed the decor of the place. The staff member that took my order was very friendly but the place was so loud she pretty much had to shout at me while taking my order. I couldn't believe that they charge for salsa here. Every mexican joint gives it away with chips but here they charge, ridiculous!!! I got my drink and off we went to find a table which proved to be quite challenging but after about 15 minutes we found a table. It took an ungodly amount of time to get out food. I guess taco tuesday is just so crazy that they can really handle the orders. Finally our food came and the tacos were good but the chimichanga was a absolute joke. It wasn't crispy at all and lacked just about any flavor. Aldo the beand and ruce come in these tiny little containers. More of a sample than a side. Oh and that salsa you have to PAY for, well lets just say many store bought brands are much better. Absolutely no flavor or even a touch of heat. If your gonna make someone oay for domething like salsa please make it decent. Getting a refill in this place is a pain in the neck. It would be so much better to have a drink station available to customers but clearly they weren't thinking. Lastly I sampled the churro. It was ok not bad at all but not great either. Seems to be the motto of this place. So the good and the bad. Good- Taco churro friendly staff Bad- Location too small for traffic Chimichanga sucked Staff yelling in my face Loud Tasteless salsa you have to pay for Tiny sides Refills a pain No soda fountain accessible to customers If you like good mexican food as I do give Franciscos and El Charro a try. Way better food and experience. You get what you pay for in the restaurant world. Cheap food means keep your expectations low.

Salsa was bland. Food was on the bland side. Cheese sauce was conjealed. The hot sauce bar is cool and necessary to add flavor to the food.

Food was awful. Tosados were a soggy mess that was not edible. Other order was wrong. Taco Bell has better food than this place.

They did a great job creating an open, modern, attractive space inside and used a lot of plants outside and inside for a refreshing feeling. Outside I noticed tables on the rap around patio, would be nice during comfortable weather. We were greeted quickly and warmly and seated in a booth as requested. Dining and bar areas that we passed all looked clean and well kept. Our server was so friendly!! We loved him. And he was HUSTLING!! He had a large group, us, plus a few other tables. I could see him running around constantly but he never dropped his smile or attention to service. I couldn't decide between two items on the menu, and he said if I had not had one of the dishes I really should try it. I love when a server will take the time to help you think through selections that are new to me as a new diner. We started with Queso Fundido with Chorizo. We have a long history with this dish, it's a must order at every new Mexican restaurant we visit as a test of how good and authentic they are. Well they didn't disappoint!! It was hot and bubbling and 100% real cheese (not canned like we've actually received from other places). It was loaded with super flavorful chorizo. It was just perfection. He didn't rush us either, btw. We ordered the app and kept the menu while we decided on dinner. He didn't mind the pace at all and got that we didn't want to just be in and out. As I said he helped me break the tie between two dishes and I went with Michoacán Enchiladas. Phenomenal! So unique. Came with a thin sliced ribeye, seared and seasoned perfectly in a way that reminded me of the marinade from the tablitas de res we used to eat in Texas. Really nice. It came with three or four corn tortillas folded with melted cheese inside, topped with pickled vegetables and cabbage, avocado, a side of potatoes and all topped with a delicious sauce. Super dish and I would definitely order it again. Husband had the burrito loco with beef and the beef was SO Flavorful. I hat it when places just put plain ground beef in a burrito. They did not do that, thankfully. The sauce on top was fantastic. It was so large he couldn't quite finish it all. Fine by me, bc I knew I would eat the leftovers the next day! We were so stuffed we didn't get a chance to check out desserts. I can't wait to come back and see if they have authentic sopapillas or something else delightful. The menu was so impressive with so many classic Tex Mex and more authentic Mexican choices, seafoods, steaks, etc. I am so excited to have found this place!

Let me tell you this was the best Mexican I have had since I moved from California where the best Mexican food exists besides Mexico. I had the ahi tuna ceviche. Best ceviche I have ever had and I have had ceviche through out the world. Best, hands down. The flavors coming out of this dish had me talking about them for the last 4 hours. Phenomenal. My family had various dishes, chicken quesadilla, a chicken mole, a burrito, a taco, and a veggie dish. All reported better than a typical place. They had some really interesting things on the menu, so can't wait to get back there. Service was great and there were a ton of people there. Food presented well and tasted fresh. Chips and chipotle dipping salsa were excellent too. Bathrooms and dining room were spotless and for a place that has chips, that is a difficult feat. Well done! This is a must try. Let me know what you think!

Not sure why this place wasn't packed because of the food and drink quality was amazing. For drinks, I ordered the Cantarito Jalisco and boy it was strong. They don't mess around with their alcohol. While it was strong, it was still tasty and it came along with mini Reposado bottle where you dump the contents into your drink. If you like strong drinks like me, I recommend this one. My MIL and hubby had a margarita and I don't remember what it was called but man was it a HUGE margarita! You definitely need to pace yourself with this one. I definitely want come back for happy hour! For our entree, I ordered the Enchiladas Guadalajara. It was delicious. I'm such an enchilada girl and this one landed in my top 3. It comes with 3 shredded chicken enchiladas topped with queso fresco and sour cream. Soooo yummy. It comes with a side of yellow rice and salad. I want to try different items on the menu next time but this one was a good first choice. Overall, the vibe inside the restaurant, cleanliness, and staff attention exceeded expectations. Thanks Agave D'Oro!

We opted for a quick dinner at the bar. And quick it was, but so good. I had their chimichanga. Fantastic and huge. The meat was perfectly seasoned and so tender. The toppings were fresh. Facility: this is a small quaint spot with Mexican decor with red seats. There is booth and regular seating. The booths have high back which allows for nice privacy. Service: the waiters are always super helpful and nice here. The food comes out quick too. Food: I love the salsa here. It's so hard to find a place with a good salsa and I like theirs. We always order the queso dip too. It was a little too thin this time and they fixed it right away. I also always get the carnitas fajitas. I love carnitas and when they put it on the sizzling cast iron, it adds some crunchy "burnt" parts. Not really burnt, but well done and delicious. But there's still plenty of tender juicy parts of the carnitas too. Another downfall is they only give you rice or beans and not both like usual Mexican restaurants. Otherwise the food is top notch. Overall: this is the 3rd time I've come here. It's not too far from where I live and I like the food and service, so we will be back.
