I've had Tijuana flats many many times but thought I'd finally write a review because the service at this location is exceptional! It's quite easy to order. They bring out the food to your table. You have so many hot sauces to choose from. The food is really Consistently good. I order the dos tacos power lite which means everything with light sour cream and cheese. The beer is cold and compliments the hot sauces. Now back to the service... This location seems to work like a happy team. They have an attention to detail from opening the door for you when you walk in to making sure you understand the menu. They even check on you several times while you are eating! After a busy day, I decided on going to Tijuana Flats for some chimichurri steak tacos. They came with a side of nachos and were delicious. So good in fact, I ordered another two of the same tacos but added some refried beans and rice to go. In addition to the food hitting the spot, the staff was very attentive and friendly. I recall Fallon taking my initial ordered and I regret I didn't get the names of the other staff. They were great! Great atmosphere and cool decor! I LOVE this place. This is a must stop (usually twice) on our yearly vacation to Florida. Black Bean Chimi w/ everything (except onions) EVERY time! Love the chips! $2 drafts during happy hour. Holy hotsauce batman! Oh yeah, and the Mexican food is pretty good, too. Came here for a quick dinner and was pleasantly surprised. The salad in tortilla bowl was pretty good.. although I found the citrus dressing a bit sweet. My husband didn't like his burrito ("pork was dry, more tortilla than anything else"), but we both loved the guac - a huge serving for a great price! The service was great, too. They had one person going around every 10-15 mins asking if you need refills (which they bring to your table), and you can ask them for sides of stuff, too. What impressed me the most, though, was the hot sauce selection - they had about 10 (maybe more?) sauces ranging from "oh you're so cute you think this is hot sauce" to "if I plunge my face in lava it might cool off a bit". I enjoyed trying all the different types of hot sauces - some where fruity, others were smooth. We had a bit of fun daring each other to have the ghost sauce - that stuff has a serious slow burn that spreads! It's not an instant death, but quite spicy for someone to regularly covers her food in sriracha. read more

After a very polite response from Tijuana Flats, we decided to try the Clark Road restaurant again. I'm happy to say that everything was perfect, the service was fast, the food was great and the presentation was right on par. Ordered online. Waited 20 minutes and then went to pick up the food. They hadn't even started it. Have now been waiting 25 minutes in the store and still no food. WTH. Where is the manager. This is ridiculous. Love the food, but clearly will have to find a new place. Clark toad location. read more

He got the chipotle nachos, I went for some enchiladas. We also got queso dip and chips. Price was great, only $20 but kinda flavorless. Had to really "Doctor" it up with their sauces. Queso kinda reminded me of Campbells' Nachos Soup, not the good "white" cheese sauce. And they melt shredded cheese on the nachos, no warm cheese sauce! Had always loved Tijuana Flats as a quick, casual, quasi-Mexican joint, but I've found the quality isn't what it was. In fact, something as innocuous as nachos festooned with all its fixings had so little meat and cheese on them now, my husband almost asked if it was a vegan version 'til he found meager portions under the pile. I tried a new (to me) meal of a "Bangin' Chicken Burrito" and found it dry and rather unappetizing, despite the pleasant kick of spices. Guess I should've stuck with my usual enchiladas. Their tortilla chips are still tasty (they use a flavored salt) as is the salsa (which is served with the nachos) and rice/black beans combo. Btw, the manager didn't come by this time. Dunno if that's new or just a one-night fluke. Sigh, we used to really like TF's, but will likely only patronize it if necessity dictates (since it's right up the block from us).... read more

I'm not saying I got the impression I could find authentic Mexican food here, but for what this is, then ok. Outside seating is pleasant, inside has more of a novelty feel. Great spot to bring your kids, or their grandparents, not your date. Prices are comparable to any Chipotle Mexican Grill, or Moe's Southwest. Rightfully so, when I think Mexican for 8 bucks, I'm thinking those two, then this. You're family may leave happier frequenting Tijuana's though. Perhaps that's priceless. read more

I live out of state and get to Florida 5-10 times a year. I really enjoy TF's and have been to 10-15 locations. Always solid and consistent - but this location is terrible. The service of the order taker on July5th around 7pm was awful, poor attitude, didn't know the menu well, argumentative. The food was fine, but the food runner had a poor attitude as well. The beer was served warm, could not get them to deliver the prepacked sauces. Will go back to TF's but not this location read more

I've been eating at this location since it opened a few months ago. The location is always clean. The food is always excellent! The staff is always clean and always friendly. You always get more food then you can eat! I drink unsweetend tea. It's always very fresh and very good. Im not a native Floridian so I am not sure what I expected. Food was ok...but not amazing. I had a Chicken burrito...the chicken was like fried popcorn chicken, not grilled chicken. If I had a choice, I'd take Chipotle instead; it would be healthier. read more

T.Flats has always been a favorite of my wife and I. We usually don't have any issues, but last night's service was awful. I called my order in ahead of time, and ended up waiting almost 40 minutes for our food. I would have understand if the dining area was packed and there was a long line, but that was clearly not the case. To make matters worse, when I finally received the food, they forgot the salad dressing, to which I had to wait longer. It was infuriating to be standing right by the path of employees, and not have anyone stop and ask if they could help!! Plus, food was coming out of the kitchen to guests in the dining area. I finally received the dressing after much prompting, and asked to see a manager for a voucher or refund. Some random person came out, looked at my bag of food, asked me my name and walked slowly back to the kitchen. I assumed they were the manager, but they never said so. Finally... I had had it, and walked out. I am planning on calling the store and demanding a refund. This place used to be great, but had declined. Do yourself a favor and go to the University location. Absolutley one of my favorites. I eat here on a weekly basis because it's THAT good. On Tuesday's they have one of the best deals for your dollar: $5 for two tacos, chips and a drink. It's plenty of food and a way better value than Moe's Mondays (which is crap anyways).
