I haven't had the food but the drinks are right on the money, staff is friendly and there's plenty of space to hang out with friends or strangers or both.

I've been coming to Pats off and on for like 12 years. I hadn't been in a few years and let me tell you!!!!!! It's completely different IN THE BEST WAY. The drinks are delicious. I had the espresso martini. They do serve food now. Flatbread pizzas and I'm not mad at them.

I came here for a drink and left with a few in my tummy lol. I enjoyed the vibes! The room was dark, fun, tv, and music was on, and the bartender knew what she was doing! The drinks were delicious and strong I'm sure coming back again for more drinks and for the vibe.

One day they invited us to check out the restaurant on Lobster Tuesday. While you can order from the regular menu that day, we went all in on the lobster dishes and loved everything we tried. The food was amazing, but the lobster ravioli was definitely my favorite dish of the night. Also, if you love bread like I do, definitely order the rolls. The ambiance was wonderful and I've heard they sometimes have live music, although I'm not sure which days. The staff made the experience even better. The host was friendly and kept me laughing with jokes while I waited for my friend to arrive. The bartender was also fantastic, understanding that I don't drink alcohol and made me an incredible mocktail that was so good my friend ended up ordering the same thing. From the food to the atmosphere to the service, everything was excellent. We had a great experience and will definitely be back!

If you grew up in LA like I did, this was definitely THE spot...and honestly, it still is. The interior is packed with old school charm: dim lighting, warm red and yellow accents, cozy booths, and a dining room that's instantly recognizable. But don't sleep on the outdoor patio either. It's absolutely beautiful, complete with its own bar and plenty of seating for those perfect evenings out. Casa Vega is famous for its margaritas and classic Mexican American comfort food. It's not outright authentic, but it's nostalgic and hasn't changed for decades. During my last visit, I kept it simple with a cheese enchilada, a perfectly medium rare cooked steak taco, and spicy beans and rice. While each item was simple, it was done perfectly. Definitely get the combination so you can try a little bit of everything. Like I said earlier, For me Casa Vega is all about nostalgia. The familiar flavors, the atmosphere, and those feel good vibes that keep people coming back year after year. It's a staple because we all grew up with it so if you're someone here dining for the first time, keep that in mind. Last pro tip: there is $10 valet parking which honestly saves you from trying to find parking on the main boulevard so I would say just go with it.

Casa Vega has been on my "legendary" list for a long time. After finally visiting, I'd say it was…read moremore of a one-time experience for me. Let's start with logistics: parking is valet only unless you manage to find street parking on very busy Ventura Blvd. When we arrived, we stood waiting for a bit without being acknowledged. When the hostess came over, there wasn't even a simple "hello," just "How many?" and "Do you have a reservation?" It's a small detail, but hospitality starts with a greeting. The ambience is undeniably cool -- dark, classic, very old-school LA. It has character. Food-wise, it was inconsistent. The albondigas soup leaned salty -- maybe it had reduced over time, maybe just my taste preference. The fajitas were actually the opposite: pretty bland. On the plus side, they weren't overcooked, which is common at many places. The cuts were large, not overloaded with onions (which I appreciated), but also not much chicken. The guacamole had a slight sour note. Not terrible, but enough to question how fresh it was. Our server, however, was great. Attentive, professional, and the highlight of the experience. The menu font is quite small, which makes it difficult to read in the dim lighting. And the payment terminal comes with a tip percentage already selected -- that always feels a bit uncomfortable. I'm glad I checked it off my list, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return or recommend it strongly. It feels like Casa Vega survives mostly on nostalgia and reputation rather than today's execution.

We used Resy to book a reservation for our anniversary and the day we went, our daughter was on a field trip and was running late to return as the bus was running behind. A quick call to the staff there and they let us bump our reservations to 30 minutes later. We were so grateful as we really wanted to try this place! Once we arrived, we ended up only being 15 minutes late which the staff laughed as that was the grace period for original reservation at 5:00 pm which they said, "you guys did make it." Our waitress was extremely attentive and great! She kept checking in on us to make sure everything was tasting great and if we needed anything. We ordered the following to drink: -Chelada (aguachile negro, tepache vinegar, lager beer, salsa maggi, derrumbes salmiana and camarón) -Oaxacan Old Fashioned (el tesoro x mirate private barrel reposado, mal bien x mirate espadin, nogave and mole bitters) -Salsa Verde Margarita (charred tomatillo, green chile, cilantro macho, derrumbes salmiana and lime) We ordered the following to eat: -Smashed Avocado (shallots, lime and tostadas) -Ceviche de Pescado (kampachi, leche de tigre and cancha) -Taco de Pulpo (flour tortilla, grilled octopus, chorizo, queso oaxaca and pineapple pico) -Carne Asada (flat iron steak, chiles toreados and confit potatoes) -Pollo Asado (half chicken, seasoned wagyu tallow fries and cauli purée) We ordered the following for dessert: -Trilogía de Cacao (3 chocolates, pecan crumble and passion fruit gelato) -3 Leches de Carajillo apricot gel, berry compote and cinnamon crisps) For us, the stars of the show were: -Salsa Verde Margarita -Ceviche de Pescado -Taco de Pulpo -Pollo Asado The kids saw someone order the Mangoneada Margarita, saw the popping boba and couldn't stop staring. LOL. I asked if they could make a virgin one for them, but they said they couldn't but offered to bring a cup of boba for $1. We definitely said yes! Thank you guys for the option! They also made a makeshift sippy cup for our toddler which meant the world to us. This place has all the bases covered and takes great care of you. There's street parking but we opted for public parking across the street which was a parking structure. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. From the food to the staff, it was perfection! Thank you to the whole team who made our anniversary special. Be back soon and that's a promise!

My husband and I stopped in on a Sunday for a quick drink before a movie, and the "vibe" was non-existent. They have four TVs at the bar, but the setup was bizarre, two were completely off and another was just frozen on a directory logo. The biggest issue, however, is the cleanliness--or lack thereof. The place is incredibly dirty. It feels like it hasn't had a deep clean in weeks, maybe longer. The bar top was disgusting, the floors were grimy, and even the woodwork looked like it hadn't seen a rag since opening day. They are charging $17 for "signature cocktails," which is bold for a spot that feels like a neglected dive bar. If you're going to charge premium prices, you have to at least wipe down the countertops. Service-wise, the bartender was friendly enough but low energy and minimal level of service. To make matters worse, a shift change happened while we were there, and the departing bartender made us close out our check and start a brand-new one with the next person. Why should the staff's administrative hand-off be the customer's issue? It's just unprofessional. The Valley has so many actual dive bars with character and plenty of high-end spots for a great cocktail; I'm not sure where this place is trying to fit in. It feels like someone bought it and just stopped caring. We won't be back.

Over the years, the staff has created an environment that feels welcoming, comfortable, and genuinely personal, and that's something that's become increasingly rare. Matt, Sabrina, and the entire team are all such gems. Scott also deserves special recognition. He's a huge part of what makes The Rendition Room such a special place. Whether he's introducing a new cocktail, sharing the story behind a spirit, or simply taking the time to check in, his passion and care for every guest shine through. It's people like Scott who transform a great bar into a place you truly feel connected to. On our most recent visit, we tried the new Decade & Debauchery cocktail, celebrating The Rendition Room's 10 year anniversary, and it's phenomenal. Balanced, and beautifully executed.
