    Tilly's Crunch w/ Chive & Bacon

According to Ancestry.com, I'm 96% Everything Bagel, so you should feel confident in this recommendation (and ignore some of the kvetching by others who are clearly less qualified). First, let's acknowledge that the Lakeview/LP area has been seriously lacking in proper bagel shops for some time. More recently, we have been blessed with a few really good options to satisfy our bagel nosh cravings. Tilly's is a welcome addition to the neighborhood and is serving some really delicious and creative bagels and schmears. In addition to the standards, they are whipping up tantalizing options like CACIO E PEPE, TOMATO GRILLED CHEESE, and how can you not be impressed with the CHICAGO which is crafted to taste like a Chicago Style Hot Dog?!?! Their schmear game is just as strong with flavors like CARAMELIZED ONION, CHIVE & BACON, SUN-DRIED TOMATO, HONEY VANILLA, and GIARDINIERA! With a variety of bagel sandwiches for those looking for a more hearty meal, there is something for everyone. The service is friendly and the space is comfortable for dining in. They even offer points through Toast for those of you who like deals. This mensch recommends Tilly's.

Opening day the line was literally down the block all Generation Z to Millennials. 2 weeks later this Sunday at 9am the line inside is still strong. Is it worth the hype? How's the food? We got the crispy potato with chorizo($12) AND - I like it. The bagel is softer than NY. I appreciate that it's not overloaded with cream cheese. The chorizo, potato and cheddar cheese just blends well. Why 4 stars ? The space itself is pedestrian otherwise no complaints with the food Sorry pics were difficult too many people.

Lakeview East's newest bagel shop is finally here! While Tilly's is not new to the City of Chicago, it is stepping up the neighborhood's breakfast game with its newest store. I came here both on opening day and on a Tuesday morning. I love a chewy bagel, and Tilly has a great variety of flavors and spreads. They also have a full coffee bar, which is amazing to have on the side. The space is brand new with a good amount of inside seating too. The staff is very friendly and does a great job of managing orders. I'm so happy to have this new establishment in my neighborhood! See you soon!

Nothing will beat the black bean paddy + gardinera + cheddar bagel combo at Bridgeport coffee but the Tilly bagel egg and cheese sandwich with impossible sausage really tried. Well done supporting veggie options! Wish the interior had more personality instead of a chipotle in a lab vibe but here we are.

First Tilly Bagel I've had in the city and it was pretty good! We tried two, the Eggs and Cheese & Crispy Potato w/Chorizo. Very filling and very flavorful, will be back!

On my quest to try all the new bagel spots this summer. Mainly because I feel so strongly that the bagels in Chicago are not nearly as good as the New York bagels, and never will be. I was super excited to try Tilly because I always meant to go to the south loop location. We split the chicken Caesar bagel sandwich on the rosemary and garlic bagel with caramelized onion, cream cheese, and then the cinnamon bagel with the vanilla honey cream cheese. The sweet bagel was definitely my favorite because of vanilla vanilla honey cream cheese is absolutely insanely good. I didn't actually think the chicken Caesar with anything to write home about because I thought it should've had more filling but the cream cheese is really are the stars here. They are just super flavorful. The bagels were just a bit dry in my opinion? I don't know I feel I have never been able to find a bagel in Chicago where I am blown away. So it was fine, but I don't think I would go running back although it is pretty convenient to my house.

This is easily the best bagel I've had in Chicago. Have been here 3 times now and I have no complaints. My favorite is the Cacio E Pepe bagel with bacon chive cream cheese. The bagels are unique and flavorful and the ratio of bagel to cream cheese is great. Although the line can be long, the service has always been pleasant and you can order ahead online. For anyone from the east coast, this is the type of bagel you're looking for.

    Brisket bagel sandwich special

The second i found out this location was opening i went and told every single person on the block how excited i was!!! I would travel to west loop just to get a bagel. Their fruit and prosciutto special right now is enough to sell you on their entire empire!!

I dream of these bagels in my sleep and each new flavor tops the last. Lakeview east needed this so badly!

Just awful. Clearly microwaved eggs on the breakfast sandwich. Felt like I was eating McDonald's.

The Turkey Turkey sandwich is still my favorite, they also have good soups (great tortilla soup), cakes and pies also. I love that they kept the original decor, wall art and interior over the decades which gives it a nice 90's look and vibe compete with 90's-00's music. I went around 6:30pm on a weekday and things were pretty quiet- although this seemed to be popular for takeout, the interior was very cute and there was ample room for seating. They have an extensive menu of delicious sandwiches on homemade bread, so it was hard to pick just one! I opted for the roast beef sandwich, and it could have definitely lasted for two moderately sized meals. It took a bit longer than expected to come out, but it was perfectly toasted and truly made to order. The unsung hero of the sandwich was the rosemary ciabatta bread, which added that subtle extra flavor that would remind you this is a speciality spot. The avocado and grilled onions with melty cheese made for a well rounded rich flavor. I do think the beef could have been a tiny bit fresher and think a more flavorful aioli would have upped the sandwich, but overall it was still tasty and satisfying. I would definitely return to try more of the sandwiches and recommend paying a visit! I

I stopped by on a Saturday around lunchtime and it wasn't too busy. There were some long benches and some regular tables, making for either a cute dine in spot or solid carryout option. My dining partner and I split the Bombay chulet- while a bit on the pricey side, it was definitely enough for two people and evened out. One bite into the sandwich, she said that this was the best one she'd ever had. It was hearty but no one ingredient overpowered another. The meat was very fresh and I absolutely loved the spicy fig chutney that gave the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The cheese was so creamy that it sort of melted in with the aioli, which was also very balanced well proportionally. However, the fried crunchy onion bits really took it over the top for an explosion of both taste and texture. We left very satisfied and already planning when we would make a return visit. I can't recommend this spot enough and will definitely be back soon!
