The gobbler on gluten free bread
    Ellison N.

Really great, fresh sandwiches. I had the Gobbler on gluten free bread and added bacon. The staff was great about my gluten allergy and assured me it was prepared in a separate area without me even asking. They did forget the pickles I had asked for but no big deal! Good ratio of meat, cheese, veggies, and mayo. Would come back.

Was taking a walk with my friend and we wanted to stop for lunch and stumbled upon lunch heroes! We thought the place looks colorful and fun so we decided to try it! The inside is super hero themed and had comics on the walls which was pretty cool. While they do have some indoor seating They have a few small tables outside so we sat outside since the weather was so nice! I got the 6inch mama Mia which was a great sandwich! First off the sandwich was really large and much bigger than I expected. It was great the bread was fresh and not dry or too crumbly like some can be, the condiments weren't too much or little and the meats were stacked high! I feel the cost was worth the sandwhich! The service was great the girl working the counter was very sweet and helpful! The guy that ended up bringing out our order was super nice and ran back into grab something else we requested. Overall a good place for lunch!

The owners and staff at Lunch Heroes are so nice and most importantly amazing public servants. They more than regularly donate meals to people in need throughout the Chicago community. They also are near DePaul so they hire students to work there as well. I have been here twice and really like the sandwiches. I like to take it home and add my own oil and vinegar. The inside of the business is always clean and has some seating as well. If I'm ever in the mood for a big sandwich I go here because I want to support local!

The gobbler and mamma Mia are our favorites, they are so good every time! Plus our dog loves their meat treats.

Butt Kickin' Chicken - unique, but bland chicken salad sandwich

I appreciate the idea behind this deli - or what I think it is - which they donate either funds or sandwiches to local schools. As for the sandwiches? I found them to be just ok. I got the chicken salad sandwich and while the salad itself had a unique, fresh flavor, I found out to be pretty bland. If you're looking to eat inside, The seating and space is quite small, and the seeing isn't comfortable (think patio chairs and the tiny patio table). Outside seating is bit more spacious, but same seating. Overall, my visit was just a lackluster experience.

There's so much I can say about this place, it is truly amazing!! The staff here is incredibly nice and the food man oh man it is good! I love this place , I travel all the way from the South Loop just to eat here! The vibe inside is so welcoming! 10/10

What a great little find. The owner, Claire, was so awesome. Friendly, kind and they make sandwiches for charity every single day. Besides being great human the sandwich was amazing. Tons of meat and toppings, very fresh and delicious. The ambience of it was whimsical and inviting. What a great addition to the neighborhood. I'll certainly be back.

    The Gobbler

This spot might be my new favorite sandwich in Lincoln Park! I had the Gobbler and added arugula and banana peppers- could not believe how good it was. The fresh ingredients on top of the fresh crunchy bread made for my ideal sandwich. Will be back very soon!

Came to try San Francisco's famous Dutch crunch bread. Let's just say it did not disappoint. The store has a fun superhero theme, but is very small. Also, the staff were so friendly. Went with the butt kickin' chicken as it was calling my name. The bread was the best sandwich bread I've ever had. It was light, airy, and fluffy with the crunch on top providing a great textural contrast that didn't take away from the softness. The chicken salad wasn't too wet like a lot of places, but could have been tastier. I couldn't really taste the hot honey or Calabrian chili. Lastly, the veggies were spot on with just the right amount. I wish the bread was sold by itself as it alone will make me want to come back. And after speaking to the owner, next time I will try their sausage breakfast sandwich as it comes on an everything bagel seasoning Dutch crunch. Overall, super solid sandwich shop but a tad pricy.

$22 for a 12" sandwich and a place that doesn't accept cash. They won't be around for long.

We grabbed a reservation for an early Sunday lunch the day before, but the restaurant was pretty empty. Tavern Style Pepperoni (4.75/5): Crust is super crunchy and the tomato sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. Pepperoni was uber savory and salty with a good crisp on em. Texturally, everything about this was perfect and you can just tell all the ingredients used were high quality. Mozzarella Sticks (4.5/5): Picture perfect mozzarella sticks. Insane crunch with a good amount of salt on the outside and melty, stretchy cheese when it hits your table. As with the pizza, the tomato in the marinara sauce really shines through.

Vibes in there are super fun and chic, casual but still cute and a little bit old-school I had done my research on our order lol but was really impressed by everything. We started with mozzarella sticks, fried zucchini, and meatballs, which were all generous portions and very tasty. The mozzarella sticks were very silky on the inside crunchy on the outside and came with a nice flavorful pomodoro dip. The meatballs had an Italian sausage/fennel flavor and were very tender, and the zucchini chips were the star of the apps!! Nice and crisp, they were cut into little super thin chips not like a traditional fried zucchini and the dipping sauce on that was also delicious and super fresh tasting Finally, we tried the spicy vodka tavern style pizza and added pepperoni to half. It was great both ways, super flavorful and the crust was perfectly crisp without being dry or overly crumbly. Pepperoni was a nice addition but not needed for sure. Would love to come back to try a pasta and dessert!

The espresso martini measures up to anyone that I've had in any Chicago bar. The tots were hot and crispy and the chicken wings very good. The cookie skillet is a a must order for dessert. I loved the ambiance. It's a pretty classic bar and grill with a lot of TVs, but their patio sets the place apart. It gets tons of sun and still has plate of TVs to watch the game. I would definitely go back since it was seasoned well and had a good ratio of lettuce, chicken, and Parmesan.
