My hubby and I ate breakfast at Till Jane's. Scrambled eggs and hash browns. The hash browns were perfectly crisp! Eggs light and fluffy. Coffee served on a cute tray and excellent in flavor! Who wouldn't like Tilly Jane's. We were in need of a sports bar for the Major League All Star game and Tilly Jane's was advertised as such. When my wife and I walked in, we were greeted as old friends. We knew nothing about the listed ales but our waiter offered up a couple generous samples. We settled for a nice amber ale and an IPA. We weren't overly hungry so we opted for three sliders off the appetizers menu, fully expecting small White Castle sized offerings. What we got were three larger-than-that hamburgers done to perfection with melted cheese over generous meat patties on toasted buns topped with giant tomato slices, thinly sliced dill pickles and a spread of sliced red onions. Went in to try for breakfast. I'll start by saying the service was great. I ordered the chicken and waffle. I was looking forward to a good old traditional chicken and waffle...this was not. I would expect a chicken breast, but it was 1/4 inch slice of chicken coated and fried in 1/2 inch of bland batter. The waffle was so sweet that it was inedible. So disappointing. Another person at the table had the biscuits and gravy and enjoyed it. But for me, at $13 for the "small" portion, I expected something better. I will try again...maybe an omelet? read more

We had Tilly Jane's cater our indie film shoot for almost two weeks - both breakfast AND lunch - and we could not have been in better hands!!! Our crew was constantly arguing over which meal was their favorite - there were so many! So this place is a true sports bar, with TVs all around and beer and bar food menu. It's Sunday of March Madness and I walk in and ZERO TVs have a game on. Women's NCAA and the Blazers. I ask 1 of 2 or the bartenders politely if she could put on CBS, and she say it will take 5-10 minutes! There were only about four tables filled (The place is usually 5-10% full). Lazy, slow, unwelcoming staff is what you'll get here. Owners/management could make it great, start with firing the purple hair bartender and then install a customer service culture. read more

It just keeps getting better here. I love the current daily soup specials (I may have 3-4 favorites) the burgers are cooked perfectly (wait staff is great about asking how we like it cooked). The chef one day knew that I had to travel with a work lunch order so they made sure the burger arrive at the perfect cooked level. On the off chance that something has not been perfect (Very Rare occurrence) the owner and staff make it right. This is hands down simply the most awful meal I may have ever paid for!!! We ordered the little John to share and literally was inedible. The ribs that come with the meal were a joke. The ribs were actually jerky!! I'm not exaggerating! They are so dry and hard that the meat shriveled around the bones and crunched when you bit them. They seems like that have been boiled then dropped in a fryer. Crunchy, dry and very greasy. Not just crunchy on the edges like you might be imagining, the entire rack snapped in half and left crumbs all over the table. Unbelievable really. The side were garbage too. Serving was super slow too. I can not think of one good thing to report about this place. Not one. Can not recommend that you spend your money elsewhere strongly enough. read more

I know it's a hard time to hire, train and keep employees right now. While they had a small staff(4 that I could see working). The wait was shorter than expected. And the food was fast. The two servers were very attentive, helpful, and welcoming. I had my aunt and cousin with me which require additional support. They were kind and understanding. Food was hot, and classic pub food. This business is locally owned and she is a strong woman ! I enjoy the opportunity to support her. We had a cheese burger, chicken strips and the ribs. This place is a great to watch a sports event. The sevice was friendly but extremely slow. Not many beer and cider options. The menu descriptions did not include everything was included in the dish. They have a very limited menu, which two of the options were no longer available. The wing sauces are definitely not traditional and definitely tasted that way, not good. After the relaunching of Tilly Janes my family decided to give it another chance. That being said I am so happy we did. The mozzarella sticks are so yummy and the marina sauce is homemade! I ordered a salad and it was huge and very yummy. They go by pounds of wings rather then counting. You for sure get your money's worth. I will for sure be coming back! read more

Worst restaurant in Hood River. They need to close regroup, fire the staff and start over. Happy hour brats came out after 24 minutes cold on a dry bun with kraut that was laughable, the bun was a hot dog bun... served with chips. Gross and dumb. Get a real brat, bun, kraut, mustard and a German style potato salad. Beer tap selection was laughable. Took 9 minutes to get acknowledged and put in my initial beer order. Ordered the patty melt thinking they can't get that wrong...holy cow, 35 minutes later I get non toasted non rye butter soaked bread on the outside with no thousand or mayo on the interior of the bread bun. There was a tablespoon of half sautéed onions. The fries were raw. Totally ghetto. Staff was rude and dismissive of my observations and expectations. The waiter had the audacity to try and charge me for the patty melt that I didn't even take a bite of. This place is a total joke. Don't waste your time or money. read more

So I was really excited to get a sports bar in Hood River. The first time we tried to go there we called ahead at 9:15 pm on a Saturday night and asked what time they stop serving dinner ( I knew they closed at 10pm). They said it is slow and they are closing up. Not a good way to start a business in this town especially when just about everything is closed at that time. Last night we tried again. We were not really impressed. I found it to be just another family restaurant with some TV's playing sports, and more gambling machines. The food was mediocre and they do not have much of a menu. I was really hoping for a true sports bar here and this is not it. I seriously doubt I will go back and would not recommend it to anyone. There are much better food choices in this town. read more

Let me just say. I've given them a few tries. It just gets worse. First time I went in there I was pretty satisfied. I ordered the Caesar Tijuana Salad with Chicken and the chicken was not cooked well. It was cold. The second time I ordered fries and they were extremely soggy. Then finally the third time a Shroom and Swiss burger was ordered and to our surprise, the burger was a regular burger with no mushrooms and was served cold. Will not be going back again. read more

Came in for breakfast on Day 1 and had the chicken and waffles, my mom had an omelette (BYO). Great breading and very crispy waffle! The coffee was strong and not bitter at all, but this is Hood River so our crowd is picky. I'm excited to see how things develop here! read more

1st time in I said I'd never go back. But because it was when they just opened , we went back yesterday 8-23-2020 at 5pm. Waiter had long dirty hair not pulled back and he kept scratching his head 7 time before our food came and never washed his hands. After food came still scratching all over work area. Went to Tilly Jane's re-opening, on opening day. Having been to Tilly's before the change I can tell it's headed in the right direction. New menu is great with lots of tasty options. New servers, and new Chef/General manager. Place looked great with updated sports bar decor. I ended up ordering the fried chicken sandwich, and my son ordered the kids mini corn dogs. The server was attentive making sure drinks were refilled while waiting for our food. The food was great, fried chicken sandwich with the coleslaw on top super good. The fries were great too. My son enjoyed the corn dogs and fries as well. I think this place is going to be great, we will definitely be back! If you're looking for great place for the family to eat try Tilly's out, I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

Came in to try the brunch menu. We are huge breakfast fans and while we love our usual go to, it is way too busy on the weekends. I'm so glad we came to Tilly Jane's. The brunch menu is limited but still has enough to make everyone happy. The first day we had the eggs Benedict. It was amazing. My husband who does not normally like hollandaise sauce, loved it. Friendly staff, but seemed disorganized. I'm sure they're just working out the kinks. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich and brisket entree. The brisket was tender but bland. We watched our food set in the window for quite a while. Staff standing around while it sat there. Really nice looking cocktail menu though. We may come back and try again after they've found their rhythm. We will give major props to Ian, who was very polite and patient with possibly the most cringeworthy and annoying-as-sin table. They were borderline disrespectful calling him over to their table every 5 mins by yelling out "Tily" and waving their arms for him. Great place to grab a beer with good food. We came from out of town and needed a place to watch football early on Sunday. Not a lot of places in Hood River were open but Tilly Janes was and surprised us with great food in addition to a good beer selection. Would recommend to anyone as a good place to stop in. read more
