Salmon miso

One of the better ramens I've had. The salmon in the "Salmon Ramen" was ok, but the broth and noodles made up for it! Food was brought out within 10 minutes. Location is right in the city center, so very lively,

Good Day Yelpies !! If you're looking for awesome food superior service and in a dog friendly environment then you have just found this amazing place. We ordered our food 30min prior to them closing and they served it up fast and hot. Not only that but a family of 6 arrived and they did the same thing...... you and I know most restaurants hate this situation and you normally get very bad service and sub par food.... But not here. They are amazing

I got the chicken broth ramen. It was unusually they must specialize in chicken broth, because I guess the pork broth can be very difficult to pull off. The pork was good it was more like a kinda barbecue but still good. Nice and savory, as well as tender. The chicken broth was good, with medium spicy via flakes. It didn't feel super rich or hearty though, and a bit flat. The Egg was ok, and they did get the typical flavor inside! TBH didn't really like the noodles. They were egg noodles but didn't feel like they were the appropriate kind for ramen. But at least they weren't the Korean style instant ramen texture either The biggest thing is that it was $21. This is quite steep! So id have given a 4stars had it been more appropriate for pricing

First time dining here, and it was a great experience. The ramen was excellent--rich, flavorful, and satisfying. While the price was a bit steep at $25 for a bowl, the quality made it worthwhile. We were seated quickly and our food arrived promptly. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained. Overall, one of the best ramen spots I've been to.

Bamee

Good meet up with friends we mountain biked with. We were hungry! The Asian cultural mix of ramen bowls were hearty and delicious. Wife went for Bamee - curry broth, tofu, scallion, cherry tomato, arugula, kikurage ,com, cabbage, sesame and cashew. I tired the Kati - Coconut base broth, tofu, arugula, corn, nut crumble, micro green, kikurage, Shimeji mushroom, cherry tomato and scallion. The coconut based was excellent - not typical Thai, Korean, Japanese or Vietnamese tasting! A mix? Sources local! Service with a smile. Eat inside or on the patio. I guarantee you'll be satisfied and smiling when you leave.

Great food and great service! The noodle texture is good and the broth is flavorful as well. The quality of the chashu is a great surprise!

This was the best ramen broth and pork I've ever eaten. This is a must try stop here in Hood River.

This is one of our go-to spots on Hood River. We've been here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and…read moresomehow they manage to nail it every single time. Today's mission? Split the St. Helens Burger, an order of fries, and a side salad with the recommended goat cheese (trust them--it was the right call). The burger was everything you want it to be. A fresh poppy seed bun, a perfectly cooked patty, sweet caramelized onions... and then came the poblano pepper. That little bit of smoky heat tied the whole thing together. Now let's talk about the fries because they deserve their own paragraph. These are, without question, my favorite fries. They arrived hot, crispy, perfectly golden, and had that satisfying crunch that makes it impossible to stop at just one. If you're a fry person, these alone are worth the visit. The side salad was fresh and flavorful, and the creamy goat cheese took it from "just a side salad" to something I'd happily order again. It was the perfect balance to all those delicious fries. If you're looking for a place that consistently delivers great food in a welcoming atmosphere, Kickstand Coffee should absolutely be on your list. We've yet to have a bad meal here, and it's one of those places we recommend without hesitation to friends, family, and anyone who asks where to eat. I now wish I didn't let my husband eat more of the fries. Gotta head back up there soon! Service was great and love that the girl at the counter asked me if I was doing anything fun today - extra friendliness goes a long way!

There's always something with this place! So, tonight, after a 10 hour shift on a Sunday, I catch…read moreup to a birthday party in progress for my youngest girl's day care provider, who just turned 60. I'm over an hour late. Everyone else is already finishing up their drinks and meals. Wanting just one drink after a long day, I head to the bar! My wife asks me to get her one too. Here's where it gets bizarre. Kickstand has a bar...well, it looks like a bar. But what I found out is that it's just for looks because it doesn't act like a bar. I thought ordering two cocktails and paying for my drinks would be easy, like it is at every bar in town. But the bartender, I mean employee standing behind a bar, asked if I was with the large group. I stated, "yes, I was." Then she proceeded to tell me that the drinks would be on someone's tab. But I showed up late...I don't know what's happening. I don't know who's paying for the "tab". I just wanted to buy two drinks and walk away. But that wasn't allowed at Kickstand. Then another employee walks up and attempts to take my drink order. Super confused, I tell her the employee standing behind the bar just took my drink order. And then we proceeded down the tab conversation again. The second employee said because "we" were a party of 8 or more, I couldn't pay for my own drinks and I they would have to put it on the party's tab. But again, I don't know who owns the tab. If it was the woman having the birthday, I didn't want to add to her bill...on her birthday. Then they suggested I "could just Venmo" the party girl. No! I want to just order two drinks and have Kickstand take my money. Why wouldn't they just take my money?! The place was dead tonight, other than the 5 or so small daycarel families, sitting at their own tables, that made up the "party". I canceled my drink order and walked away out of protest and principal. When asked if I was with the big party, I should have said no I guess. Lesson leaned for next time, if there is a next time. Kickstand, you're so difficult and frustrating!!

Don't let the "it's a food truck" scare you off - the food was excellent. Fresh and tasty. I would have liked a larger portion (i got the katsu curry), but quite enoyed what I did get. We sat outside, but there is indoor seating available in the bar / gift shop, which deserves its own few minutes to browse through while waiting for your food. We placed our order and headed on into the bar/gift shop area. They have so many cool books, trinkets, stickers, cards, etc. The plant and lighting set up in there is also incredible. Our food was ready in no time and we found a little table outside to eat. The lights were glowing and the sun was just setting which made the ambiance perfect. I highly recommend the Ramen. The flavor was insane. I also enjoyed the mushroom sushi. This place is absolutely worth the hype and wait.

Currently listed at $15, it comes with double rice, double mac, a slice of pineapple, pulled pork, beef ribs, and barbecue chicken. The Big Kahuna is probably the best value on the menu. For me personally, it's big enough to split, or to feed me for a whole day. While I loved the Big Kahuna, I'm not really a big fan of pulled pork. The third time I came in, I ordered the Ginger Beef. I liked it, but honestly not as much as any of the three meats that came with the Big Kahuna. The next two times, I ordered the large teriyaki chicken with extra sauce, to go. The flavor is basic in the best way possible. It's not necessarily interesting or innovative, but is exactly what I expect when I think of good teriyaki chicken. It's tender, flavorful, and perfectly charred. The pulled pork tastes like it was cooked in a slow cooker, or via some kind of process that took a very long time. It just falls apart in your mouth. The rice and mac are also plain in the best way possible. Traditional and plain, but still perfectly done. This has become my favorite lunch spot in Hood River. It's hard to not eat here every day.

The meat had a nice smoky char and a sweet-salty glaze (from the smoker outside). Not served piping hot, but still reason temperature, not super-tender either though. One piece had a slightly acrid taste, probably over smoked, but the rest was solid. The rice was standard. The mac salad was chilled, creamy, and well balanced--mayo-based with shreds of carrot, bits of green onion, and a light touch of pepper. Overall, a classic Hawaiian plate lunch. Fast, filling, and good value.
