I came here for the first time on a Friday night and it was a hoppin' place. Definitely a lot of middle school aged kids and families but also a range. I've had a great time so far at Tilt! It's got a fun location, so many games, and so me solid food and drinks! My friend got me into pinball; as a hiker, just about the last thing I want to do is spend time indoors. But Tilt ha s a great community, and it's really grown on me! As far as arcades go, this one is top notch. There are tons of high quality pinball games, as well as other games of chance, and lots of fun ones like ski game and pool. I had an unknown charge after visiting this place a few weeks ago. I called and left a message for the manager and didn't receive a call back. This is after being tricked by staff years ago to tip 20% on my tab when I didn't realize the $200-300 in tokens I purchased for my employees was also part of the bill. I've been here a few times for trivia now. They have a solid tap list. The food offerings, and the times with which they are available, seem to vary across my visits. But, there are some good choices to be had, despite the limited nature of them. The beer is generally cold, but I have occasionally received one that could be chilled a little better. Prices are reasonable. When having drinks upstairs, the choices are more limited. When you go downstairs, you get all of the options. One nice thing is that you can share your tab between both the upstairs and the downstairs. The choice of video games and pinball machines is quite good. I hope that they keep offering "Thinking and Drinking" trivia on a regular basis, as that is what really inspires me to make the not inconsiderable trek to this Louisville location. Was a really cool place but they switched coins for cards which kind of felt like it defeated the point :/. The manager was also seen visibly drunk on multiple shifts which is really unprofessional and makes me question the choices of upper management. read more

I really enjoy the vintage pinball and video games they have there. One of my favorite game is Galaga because I played this as a teenager. I never miss playing a game when I am there. The owners are really engaged in their business and their clientele. They are really into these games and they do a very good job with the maintenance. It is very rare that a game is out of order. It is a terrific place for a crowd of all ages and it creates a sense of community in Louisville. I am very concerned the pandemic will force them to close. It would be a shame. I really hope this doesn't happen. read more

I have missed arcades so much during COVID so I was very excited to see this place is open with COVID safe protocols! When we came, we had somebody check us in at the door with hand sanitizer and explain how it worked. All pinball machines and arcade games have signs that alert you if the game has been sanitized. You flip it over to let staff now the game needs to be cleaned. I saw staff members walking around actively sanitizing surfaces. It felt clean and everyone was wearing masks. The front door was open to get fresh air circulating inside. There is a bar and I saw that it serves liquor and beer. I'm not sure about wine. read more

We absolutely loved this place. Our $20 for my wife, son and I lasted us an hour. We played pool, air hockey, lots of pinball and lots of classic arcade games. The bartender was friendly and the music is good. If you're looking for a good family spot at night and want a beer or adult beverage, this place is a good mix. Love Thinkin' and Drinkin' Trivia at Tilt! The trivia jockeys are hilarious and banter with the crowd. The subject matter is not for kids, so this is an adults-only trivia night, yay! The tap list is great, always a delicious, local IPA on tap. Their sandwiches are wonderful. The bartenders are super nice and the crowd is jovial and will yuck it up with you while you eat/drink before heading upstairs for trivia. Last, but not least, Giant Two-Player Pong! OMG this is my favorite thing! Each person mans one of the paddles and sends the giant, physical pixel across the game. Think Air Hockey meets Pong. It's amazing! read more

I don't have any really strong and/or negative thoughts about Tilt... but, just some general observations. First, is Tilt trying to be an arcade with a small bar, or a bar with some arcade games? There is a big difference and I felt like Tilt is trying to be the former. I've been to arcade bar concepts across the country and I feel like all of the best arcade bars have a rockin' bar accompanied by a great selection of games. Speaking of games... Pinball Machines: Excellent selection of high quality pinball machines. None of the pinball machines were broken. A+ Arcade Machines: Meh... There were a few classics, but nothing that truly caught my eye. There were a few machines with sticky joysticks or that ate some of my tokens, but nothing that was too frustrating. C+ Also... speaking of tokens... I'm not a fan, nor I have ever been a fan, of the token system in arcades. Either go with quarters or go with free-to-play. The tokens are an unnecessary middle-man in what should be a pretty seamless transaction for fun. Overall, Tilt was okay but I've been to other arcade bars that have executed the concept better. However, being as it's the only spot in the area that offers arcade game options, it's worth a visit if you're interested. read more

The fun below ground experience.. the music.. and so many pinball games and 80's all over! This new establishment definitely has gained happy kids and delighted adults. Adult beverages can be ordered at the bar located right in the center Adam and Sarah are awesome! Friendly and helpful, willing to give you variety choices for what they offer. I went with a Gravity Baltic Porter, a raspberry and cocoa smooth and Dark and I loved it . Also tried the vindication freedom stout- a major dark malt with vanilla. This location has wall to wall 80's style arcade games as well as air hockey and pool. What I appreciated most was that this can be a great place for kids WITH adults, the delight of everyone participating in fun and games was a great change of pace of the ordinary dine-in , you can actually interact with your inner child racing cars, or shooting aliens, or my favorite .. losing the battle of mortal kombat. ( I'm better on PlayStation I swear) love it here, this was an awesome Saturday night! Oh and try the cheese bread- the blend was cooked to perfection! read more

Similar to Dave N Busters, this small gaming lover's pub is a small business who offers just the same amount of fun and for a half of the cost. It's very small, but they pack the same games and lights as the regular game chain. This place also has a pretty badass entry, with PacMan halls and it's super indie for sure.. I also recall a small bar section open to the public inside and a very nice built in system of pool tables and bean bag toss. I love how friendly this place is for all ages. I love how it's one of a kind and it's not expected to be found anywhere else. It's the ideal fun for all ages. read more

We were visiting Boulder, CO and had no idea a video arcade was nearby or even existed. We had so much fun and our favorite pinball machine was even there (Addams Family). Terrible service, not cleaning tables in between customers (during Covid), awful music (put money into the juke box and selected songs and they weren't played-over the two hours we were there- heavy metal blasted the entire time-so loudly, that our friends left). I already live in a town where there's just about every pin available, but when I heard that there's a remake AFM, I had to hit up this place. It's a little bit of a drive but definitely worth it. Literally every machine is in immaculate condition, especially AFMse. The owner/operator Greg (super nice dude btw) clearly cares a lot about the machines and considering they have a league here, it's super strange that the machines don't seem more banged up, if at all for that matter. Video game selection is super decent as well, they've got Tempest. Beer curation was decent, and it seems like a good mix of people. Great for families, meh for adults. The positive: I appreciate any decent attempt to run an arcade. I loved pinball and video games as a kid and I still love them. Tilt is chock full of a lot of games, from vintage to modern. It is a fine addition to downtown Louisville and I hope they do well. If you have kids of the right age, this place is great. Bring them, let them enjoy themselves and run around, you can get a beer or cocktail while you're at it. I haven't checked out the VR section, but it looks pretty cool. There are a few tables if you want to sit down for a snack. The negative: This place is LOUD. I mean, makes-my-fillings-hurt loud. Air-hockey is smack in the middle of everything, the kids are really "energized", and the staff is promotes something on the PA every ten minutes. I find it hard to focus on let alone enjoy a game with that level of cacophony. They have a token system, which I personally despise (but I admit it works for kids). Overall I'd give it five-stars for families and kids, two-stars for adults. If you just want to play a game a have a brew, there are better places. Final thought: This place is WAY better as an arcade than the "Dave and Busters" style entertainment (with their usual push of kiddy-proto-gambling). However, they have fewer food options. read more

Tilt is an excellent fit for downtown Louisville. It's a smaller place with a nice assortment of games, a couple pool tables, good beers on tap, and a family atmosphere. Ideally, it would be a larger space to allow for more games, but it seems to work out fine. A couple of big screen TV's for sporting events would be nice. I think there's one small TV, but bartenders don't seem to be aware when local teams are playing. That's one area where there could be an upgrade, as this would be a good spot to catch a Broncos, Rockies, or CU game. Food is limited with basically just pizza from the restaurant next door. Great games and lots of nostalgia for those of us who grew up in 80s arcades. Great decor although I liked the last location better with more couches for the adults. A couple things: Cheaper jukebox. $.50-1.00 per song is way too much. And the music could be louder. What's an emporium without loud music?!? :) Also, some cheaper pinball games would be nice. Absolutely charming, kitschy, clean fun for, truly, all ages. The interior feels like hipster cool but not exclusive (you know how some hipster places actively encourage those of us not sporting a slouchy beanie to Get Out--not so here). The owner was fantastic, so helpful. I'd called beforehand to ask how much $ we should bring (group of 11 year-olds) and the owner gave me a concrete answer, as well as volunteering that we could use their patio to eat if we wanted to get a pizza from across the street. When we came in he was, in person, as helpful and kind as he'd been on the phone, helping us with a recalcitrant change machine; the young woman working there was also sweet + helpful. The kids, my three and all the others I saw there (~5-65 years-old) had a great time, to boot; I was in a reading mood so I curled up on one of their comfy (+ multiple) sofas--could have played, but I appreciate that they cater to all kinds. They also have a large and very crisp TV which was playing the football game. Tons of arcade games including Dance Dance Revolution, Dr. Who Pinball, Walking Dead pinball, etc for arcade games, air hockey, pool table, ping pong, corn in the hole, an enormous Jenga game, an even more enormous Connect 4 (with stepstool to reach the top!) .... A wonderful and very welcome addition to Louisville! read more

Even compared with other newly sprung arcades taking advantage of retro nostalgia (of which there are some: 1up/2up, press play...), this place has well-curated machines in good shape, and an owner (Steve) who is on top of it and doing a great job building a community around it. First I have to knock them for using tokens. What is ever the point of using tokens instead of quarters? I wish I knew. Next the service is super slow, nor do they clean up the empty glasses and plates on tables. It felt dirty. There was only one person working on a Friday night, and she was focused on the bar, however more so her friends who were at the bar. I'm giving them three stars because they have a great pinball selection, about 20 machines. There are a good amount of arcade games too, but the pool tables and air hockey take up a lot of room. They have a great selection of pinball, prices per play range from .25 on the older machines, to 1.00 for the newer ones. This place is FANTASTIC!! We threw a 50th surprise party for my mom and the bartenders were awesome and helpful, the event staff put everything together that we needed, and the prices were affordable. Such a great establishment, and a nostalgic trip for those who love the arcade. read more

They kindly gave us their space and Gillian and Adam were fantastic at helping our volunteers with everything we needed for a smooth and successful fundraiser. I used to go to their old location and it was great. I recently visited their new location for the first time. I had an absolutely terrible experience. I was greeted by a rude blonde bartender with a beard and a fish arm tattoo. We ordered a drink and a box of candy. He never brought me the candy. After receiving the drink we asked about renting the place out and if he could tell us about it. We are hoping to have an engagement party and we were thinking about Tilt as the destination. He was rude about that. Didn't want to talk about it. Said it varies depending on what we want and when. I asked him for more details and if I could find them online. He was like yeah no shit. I had to pry and he didn't care at all. I would think an event would be money they would be interested in making l. After being treated like talking wall art I asked for a check. He admitted that he totally forgot about us and thank us for for reminding him to bill us!! I was not feeling good about the place after that. Then we went to play one of our favorite games. Which used to be $0.50/person and now is $1/per person. Which is ridiculous for pinball. I could go to press play in boulder and have much more fun for reasonable prices and not be treated like shit. I used to love this place but it has turned into a nasty money hungry waste of time that doesn't care about its customers. read more
