The wait on a Friday night was 20 minutes but it was better than a 45 minute wait at other restaurants. There was a live band so it's difficult to talk while you eat but the music was good. We had an awesome waitress named Dana. She was very attentive to our needs and the service was quick. I ordered the turkey club wrap for $9.99 with a side of Caesar salad. I got a shark bite and then followed with a blue moon. They have lots of specialty drinks that sounded good but we settled for dirty martinis before we left. The food was ok. Been to this location 3 times and sat at the bar every time. The service is above average (1st-Horrible, 2nd-Amazing, 3rd-Good), but the burgers were amazing. I've tried three different burgers, and all of them were just perfect. They have over 30 tv's to watch any sporting event you want if you ask the right person. It was our first time at any Tilted Kilt and while we are aware of the draw to this place, that's not why we came. We simply came to see if the food was good. We were met at the door by a young lady who was very nice and saw us to a table right away. It was not busy at all. Maybe 25 people in the whole place...Our server met us at the table right away to take drink and appetizer order. I ordered a beer and the wife ordered a strawberry lemonade, both were delivered fairly quickly along with the pretzel we ordered. It was gigantic, the picture didn't do it justice. Came with a brown mustard, some melted cheese and some sort of jalapeño cheese dip. All were good. The beer was ice cold, which is great and sometimes hard to find. I ordered some chicken wings and the server recommended an Asian Zing flavored sauce along with their Guiness BBQ. She ordered a French dip. Standard fare here. Bar service on an early Thursday morning was prompt. Our bartender was polite, had solid suggestions for food, and checked up on us. The food itself is decent by chain standards. I ordered the fried pickles which were good and the buffalo mac and chz. The food came out fast and hot (the appetizers appropriately came out first). The mac and chz was tasty but good lord I'm pretty sure the chz clogged and artery or two. But what do you expect. The beer was cold and the mug chilled. And as its a Titled Kilt I feel no shame in saying the staff was pretty good looking too. Went with a few friends. The food and drinks weren't too bad. Just average wings could have had just a bit more flavor so we had to get extra buffalo sauce and did not know that would cost extra. Outside of that no complaints on the food. The customer service on the other hand was below average. Our waitress rarely came to the table. Would only come back with simple requests after like 20 minutes. The girls were mainly sitting at tables with guys maybe regulars or personal friends. The only reason this place gets a star is because the food was pretty good. The service was awful, and we got ripped off. We ordered two burgers, and 2 baby-sized cups of Mac and cheese for the kids. Was not aware that our bill would come out to 70 dollars, but we just wanted to get out of there. We signed the ticket WITHOUT a tip included, because our waitress was rude and seemed to have no idea what she was doing. With no one around besides our semi large group, no one else was there to assist the only waitress working even though there were other waitresses there. Very slow service. I asked questions about the "fried burger" like "what is it exactly?" Waitress had to go ask, when she returned she said "I'm sorry I'm a horrible waitress.." Interesting to say the least. I ordered the BBQ cheeseburger without the BBQ sauce and the sea salt and black pepper fries. Burger wasn't that great tasted like a frozen patty and the fries were too salty. We each ordered the fish & chips, and after about 25 minutes our food arrived. (It was not busy.) Our server sets our plates down and I see cod, tartar sauce and cole slaw. Where are the fries? When I asked, our server seemed genuinely confused as to whether fries comes with it. I said, "It's fish & chips. The chips are French fries." She had to check with the kitchen. Upon her return, she says she can bring us fries if we want them and that we would be comped the cost of the cole slaw. Wait...what? It comes with cole slaw. And, yes, we want fries. We wait again. My general impression: poor service; mediocre food. Nothing stood out. Nothing was memorable. I don't see the need to return. In my opinion a restaurant needs to make me want to come back, needs to have me remember the taste and crave it again. This place doesn't. read more

So, the genre of scantily clad ladies serving food restaurants have never been my thing. Don't get me wrong, scantily clad ladies are awesome, but not necessary with my food. Either way, this was literally in my hotel's parking lot, and I wanted food and beer. The only other TK I've been was in Orlando, and it was decent. Friendly servers, consistent food, and most importantly, wifi. So I figured I could swing down, get some food, and get some work done. I ordered: artichoke dip, cheesesteak with sweet potato fries, and a Guinness. Thoughts: -Artichoke dip tasted like cream of mushroom soup, only bad cream of mushroom soup. Which was off-putting due to the fact that it was artichoke dip. -My fries were 'al-dente', which was kind of a bummer. But they were hot throughout. I honestly can't explain that one, since I assume the fries are all frozen bagged and just heated there. -The bread of the sandwich was definitely on its way to being stale. This was more apparent by the fact that as it cooled, it got less and less soft and squishy and more and more crusty and not delicious. -My Guinness was tasty, although $5.50 for a draught DURING happy hour is a bit steep. Lame. The best part was that the wifi wasn't working. And the explanation: "the manager says that sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't"...whaaaat?! My waitress said it was her first day, so I forgive her for needing to step away to find things out. If I could give them zero stars, my waitress would have saved them with one. But since I can only give one, oh well. I'm not going back there anymore. I guess I'll just stick with the Orlando TK. I'm not really upset, and I VERY rarely give a single star. I'm new to Killeen and my buddy who has been here a few weeks longer than me said we should go here and watch the UFC fight. They charged a $5 cover to get in. After some time looking for a seat, we asked the staff about seating and they kind of looked at us like we were lepers and shrugged. Finally, a couple of guests at the bar moved over and let us squeeze in. I wanted to watch the Georgia Clemson game as well as the UFC bouts, but they had all of the TV's in the bar area on the fight, except for two that were on baseball. No one in the bar was watching baseball, but they refused to change one to the football game. I had the Pub Pastrami sandwich and a vodka tonic. The sandwich was not bad, but not good. There was not much meat in it. The fries were standard pub fries. The tonic in my vodka tonic had a very odd flavor. So I switched to Vodka Sodas. I wanted to be attracted to the women working here. After all, the point of the Tilted Kilt is the waitresses, but I did not find a single waitress attractive. Too many love handles and pot bellies for my taste. The crowd was getting a little rough as the night wore on. A couple of guests were removed. They might want to consider some on site security. One guy that they kicked out kept coming back in and starting drama, only to be kicked out again and return three more times. This might be an OK lunch spot, or a College Football day drinking destination, but I will go elsewhere after dark. read more

Well lets start with the staff. Its Killeen, its the same girls that were working at Hooters, doll house or any other establishment around here before it opened. Hot girls aren't moving from Dallas and Houston to work at Tilted Kilt in Killeen. Yea some are attractive, but some got better mustaches then I do. And a few of them weren't in line when they passed out common sense and brains (not all of them, some are good) Beer- Way over priced. For a dollar more next door you can get twice as much beer and its Colder. Yea they got a large selection but so does the pizza place down the road. Appetizers- on a scale of 1-10 they are a 1, don't waste your money. Food- After trying about 6-7 different menu items I found one thing I liked and its the Irish Dip, but not enough to save it from a one star rating. Bottom line is that this place isn't that great, Theres a place in Round Rock that is named after Mountains that has better food, better beer prices, and more hotties at it. I spend about half of what I did at Tilted Kilt there and enjoy just as many beers. Hooters in Killeen is just that Hooters in Killeen but for the price comparison I would go there. read more

There's no shortage of sports bars with girls with low cut tops and short skirts bringing you beer and fast food and the Tilted Kilt isn't really that different. They benefit from having a wider selection of food with all the usual fast food as well some traditional pub favourites such as fish and chips and pub entrees. Since this is an Irish pub, I'd recommend trying their Irish stew. It doesn't beat the real thing back in Dublin but it comes pretty close. They also do a few Irish takes on traditional Tex-Mex including their Irish nachos and potato skins. If you like your Sports Bars and fancy a change from Hooters then check out the Tilted Kilt! read more
