Discovered Tim by accident while driving around and am sure glad I did! My wifes ring was in need of a cleaning and replating (white gold) after being let go for several years. Usually it's supposed to be an annual thing but our previous jeweler had closed up and it sort of fell by the wayside. I lost my diamond in my wedding ring but was fortunate to have found it. I was at Fred Meyers having another ring checked so I asked how much it would cost to have the diamond reset with new tips. It was going to cost me more to fix my ring than what we paid for it 40 years ago. I went to Tim Barlow Jeweler, he had fixed my ring twice before and did an excellent job for an affordable price. Once again he told me what it would cost to reset and put new tips on my ring, less than half what Fred Meyer would charge plus it would be ready the next day. I recently asked Time Barlow Jewelers to reset my monther's engagement ring in a lower setting so I can wear it to work. I work in the medical profession, and I wear patient gloves daily so I, can't wear my wedding ring. I have been wearing a plain band the past few years, and I wanted to wear something more meaningful. So, I realized that my mom's engagement ring would be perfect once the small diamond didn't sit up so high. I took it to Tim and told him what I wanted. I went to a couple of jewelers to get my husbands ring he received from his mom in high school melted and remolded. It almost looked like an NFL ring and I wanted to turn into a wedding band (lost his old one). Most of them told me they couldn't reshape without it producing microscopic holes due to the melting process. They also informed me it would take weeks. I went into Tim. After many months of thoughts, I finally made the leap to have my mother's diamond ring sized as well as reset in a more wearable style for me. Tim carefully listened to my wants, and asked me a few questions. This ring was valuable on two levels, one the value of the stone involved, second, the memories of my mom. When I picked up the ring on Wednesday, i was so pleased with the results. It is gorgeous and I felt a fair price for the work accomplished. Tim is an incredible craftsman, we are lucky to have a jeweler of his caliber in our local area. My wife had a ring she loved, called it her gypsy ring, but the stone fell out of it. I brought it over to Tim and he explained to me that the ring was sterling, with chrome plating. If he applied heat, it would damage the finish. I asked him if there were any options at all, because my wife really liked her gypsy ring. Tim used the ring to make a mold, and cast an exact ring in 14kt gold, the stone we chose was a beautiful blue star sapphire, bezel set so it will stay on the mount. Tim is a terrific jeweler and his service is second to none. I had a few jewelers I would go to for different things, but I kept going back to Tim's store for more and more things over the years until I found that he can take care of any need I have. Whether it be resizing my wedding ring or finding my wife a gift that's sure to please or something as simple as getting batteries put in my watch, he can do it all. Tim made a ring for me using my grandmother's sapphires a few years ago , looks great. I recently had to have my 55 year old wedding ring resized due to arthritis so went back to Tim. It has multiple bands, a section of sentimental diamonds and carvings in one band , Tim replicated the carvings beautifully in the added section. You can't tell it has been resized at all. I have my favorite ring, the band broke. I took it to a chain jewelry store who quoted me a cost more than it would be to replace the ring. My aunt told me about Tim and I was completely amazed. Not only was the price so beyond reasonably low, the workmanship was exceptional and my repair was completed extremely fast.
