This cake we needed something to fit the ocean/Finding nemo theme of our son's birthday and this cake knocked it out of the park! The design and look of it fit perfectly. But more importantly, let's get to the taste. I am not a big sweets fan, but this cake was phenomenal. We had a vanilla cake with the buttercream frosting that everyone loved. The process was so simple and easy for ordering and pick up. Corrie gave us the idea for the cake and we were able to pay through venmo. Then we picked it up the day before the party and everything went smooth. We will get all of our cakes from Morning Sunrise for our upcoming events!

Believe it…read more I moved to Alden fully expecting to spend my mornings making coffee pilgrimages to Williamsville, Hamburg, or--if things got really desperate--Buffalo. Because let's face it: small towns are adorable, but they're not exactly known for serving up killer espresso drinks that don't taste like regret and cardboard. Enter Alden Bakery and Cafe, the local caffeine oasis that not only exceeded my expectations--it obliterated them with one perfect iced breve latte. And when I say perfect, I mean every single time. I don't have to explain what a breve is. I don't get judgmental looks like I just asked for a cheeseburger taco in a sourdough cup. They just make it--creamy, bold, beautiful--and I sip it like a queen. My friend from Jacksonville, FL visited and I took her here. She went back to her big ol' city and texted me, genuinely annoyed to wake up in a place that didn't have this café. Big city, no Alden Bakery. Tragic. As for the baked goods--listen, I'm not your sugar fairy. I've tried a few things and they seemed lovely, but I'm not a sweets person. What I can vouch for are the breakfast sandwiches and bagels. From what I understand the cost of material for making biscuits and their other offering had jumped up drastically and they decided to branch off in another direction. Edibles! We say a new report on them the orher night and thought, why not. Though marijuana is now legal in NYS, retails stores aren't yet open. So many rules to work through. But, you can go to many different Indian Reservation lands and purchase the products. Cannabis Bakery is currently concentrating on edibles with 2 products being offered, cupcakes and brownies. They do also have a nursery selling plants. The business is all drive through for now. So think of MickeyDs but with edibles. Cash only. We haven't actually tried the product yet. Stay tuned. Unfortunately, what I experienced this past Saturday morning completely undermined that charm. A local running group had clearly made this their post-run stop, which in itself is perfectly fine. Many of the women were seated respectfully like any other patrons. However, one man took it upon himself to turn the front of the bakery into his personal gym. While customers stood waiting for their coffee, he was drenched in sweat, performing cooldown exercises right in the lobby--hands flat on the floor, legs in the air, squats, jumping--completely oblivious to the people around him. The smell alone was enough to turn your stomach. This isn't a locker room. It's not a sidewalk. It's a place where people come to eat and drink. There was no awareness, no courtesy, no basic respect for shared space. It was uncomfortable, unhygienic, and frankly shocking to witness in a setting that otherwise prides itself on atmosphere. The bakery deserves praise for its food and environment, but management needs to step in and set clear expectations. Allowing behavior like this diminishes the experience for everyone else. There's a line between casual and careless--and this crossed it entirely. Hope you are ashamed of your self sir and I use the word sir loosely...
