I was told that my appointment was canceled the Friday afternoon before (despite confirming it via text). I had already taken PTO to attend my appointment so to find out in the afternoon before they were closed all weekend was very frustrating. I was told the reason it was canceled was because my insurance had expired (I have a new insurance provider) and they decided to cancel it without getting a hold of me. Let's just say I will be looking for another provider going forward rather than rescheduling my appointment.

I kept going back because I thought maybe it wasn't "that bad" and the people are friendly enough... they just aren't very skilled and it seems like every staff member is there on their first day. I'm just not used to going to these type of corporate dental clinics. I had a private practice dentist for years and they were so much better.

I asked if the appointments could be combined, since I can't take multiple days off work for a routine cleaning, and the response was met with audible sighs and an overall attitude that felt impatient and dismissive. I was first offered a random Wednesday appointment. I explained that I can only do Fridays, and again there were sighs and visible frustration while the schedule was being reviewed. I also clarified that I'm in no rush--just that the appointments needed to be on the same day and on a Friday. A date was eventually given. I then offered to complete new x-rays if that would make scheduling easier, rather than transferring records from my previous dentist last year. I was told, sharply, that x-rays were not the issue--that because I haven't been seen in four years, an examination is required first. At that point I questioned the attitude being displayed, and was told that I was the one with the attitude. When I said I may need to go elsewhere if this was the tone of the interaction, the response was, essentially, "yeah, maybe you should." Guess Edelweiss doesn't need new patients. It's disappointing that this level of disrespect is how the practice chooses to represent itself.

They want you to blindly sign a screen to something that they have on their separate screen that you can't see, but even if you see it or they print it they could steal your signature or you could actually be signing something you have no intention to sign. You spend your whole life being told to be cautious of this and yet now this wack process is becoming more and more frequent. And not only do they not read the document, they just sum it all up. What's the point of even having a signature at this point?

The staff is so supportive and accommodating and they really know how to communicate to their patients what to expect in a way that the patient will understand. I had cracked a filling and they were able to get me in a day later. They explained to me over the phone in a patient and clear way how to take care of the tooth in the meantime. When I was able to come in, they examined my tooth and explained clearly and patiently that I would need a crown. I shared with them my fears (I have A LOT of dental trauma) they were able to explain to me how this experience would be different and better. Dr. Dar was able to calm my fears and when I said I was leaving for vacation that evening and wouldn't be back for a week - he explained clearly why it would be ok to wait to put in the temporary crown for when I returned. I came back for the temporary crown procedure and was so scared but they turned on Great British Backing show, numbed me until I could confidently say I didn't feel anything and began drilling. They moved quickly and it was clear they all cared about each other too as they chatted about weekend plans which was so comforting for me! Then they gave me 3 ibuprofen and 1 Tylenol and told me to go ahead and take it before the numbing wears off and that research shows that combo is best for pain relief which was reassuring. They said if I had any pain that kept me up at night to call them and they would get me back in but I didn't! For the following two weeks I had no pain at all! Then I returned for my permanent crown and they were very honest about how this procedure might cause a little pain because of the cold sealant they would need to use to permanently hold the crown. But they gave me something to squish with my hands and turned on Bob Ross and again moved quickly and confidently through the procedure. This part was slightly painful but nothing compared to what I've experienced in the past and was prepared for because of their clear communication. The whole procedure took about a half hour! Then they sent me home with another 3 ibuprofen and 1 Tylenol - I took it right away and had no pain the rest of the day. I experienced the slightest discomfort later that evening but nothing that kept me up at night and when I woke up the next morning the pain was gone. Here I am a day later and zero pain at all!!!! Just the slightest cold sensitivity but it's very manageable. I am so grateful for their thoughtful and encouraging staff! Heavenly and Dr Dar were amazing to work with. So patient and compassionate and created a welcoming environment! You will get quality care here.

I was moved from one room to another and passed off among different dental assistants. They took X-rays and offered orthodontia and fillings but even with my insurance (Delta Dental) the prices were way too high for me. I have never had a particularly awful trip to the dentist; it's just always been a terrifying experience for me. With that said, it should come as no surprise that I have avoided anything dentist related for a few years. Then my wisdom teeth started coming in, and my overall teeth sensitivity was becoming unbearable. I learned, no surprises here, that I had a few cavities that were caused by teeth grinding. I set up the appointment to get my teeth fixed and let Oxsana know that would be something I would need. This is where the story takes a freaky turn: when I arrived, Oxsana somehow made me feel so comfortable, and I agreed to skip the gas AND, even though I had to get six teeth fixed on one side, I almost fell asleep as they drilled and scraped. Seriously. I could not also feel the Novocain shot - which usually is incredibly painful - and even the discomfort of keeping my mouth wide open for an hour did not bother me nearly as much as I thought it would. The entire time Dr. Kaady and the person assisting him (Dental Assistant? Hygienist? I have no idea what the title is) were attentive and direct, which I appreciated. I asked them to forgo any explanations of what they were doing, and they obliged. The individual assisting Dr. Kaady also is super good at figuring out what people are trying to say - which comes out in grunts when your mouth is propped open - which was incredibly calming. It took about an hour and more than a few shots because my mouth is so sensitive. I was concerned about the slight swelling the next day and the pain and emailed Oxsana (who I LOVE) about it. She responded within minutes with a reminder that I had six teeth filled and some swelling, and of course, residual soreness and pain, is entirely normal. Two days after the appointment, the swelling is gone, and the soreness has subsided. Highly recommend this dentist and greatly appreciate their down to earth staff.
