I recently saw Dr Fanger for top molar that I was certain would need a root canal. Dr. Finger was very thorough and ran certain tests on the tooth to determine that I only needed a crown. He did a fantastic job with my crown and had excellent bedside manners. He even called me the next day to see how I was doing. I've been to seven dentists in 60+ years. This was July first visit and involved a major reconstruction: remove existing crown, inlay, and filling - all in a single tooth. Only discomfort is the shots (as usual). Dr Fanger took the extra time to explain what he was doing and why, to make sure that I was in no pain, and to give me time-outs when I needed to decompress. I have actual pictures of all my teeth. I could see which fillings were leaking and needed replacing. Very happy with the work done and the people doing it. Dr. Kennedy did an amazing job with replacing two childhood fillings. I am extremely anxious of dental work due to bad experiences as a child. He was very patient and understanding. His staff, including Zach and Diane, all did an amazing job to help with everything from appointment to dental work. I felt no pain at all, and I was shocked by how quickly it was all done. I first found Dr. Kennedy because of his biofilm removal process that is excellent. I have continued to go back for regular cleaning visits. I now have few bits of childhood dental work left to replace, and I plan to return to get it all done by Dr. Kennedy and his staff. Time wasters. We made an appointment months in advance, and shortly before the date, they informed us that they are no longer accepting our insurance. Appointment cancelled, months of waiting and paying our premium wasted. They should have notified us when they knew they were making this change, so we could find another dentist and get our needed dental care, instead of waiting around for an appointment they knew they weren't going to honor. I've been going to Dr. Kennedy's practice for about three years now. His staff have done all my cleanings and Dr. Kennedy has put in a couple crowns. I have to say... I am REALLY impressed with the level of service I receive at Kennedy Dental. Everything is tick-tock. I always get seen on time and everyone is very efficient and professional. The reason I switched over to Dr. Kennedy's practice is my previous dentist's hygienists wouldn't even get started on my teeth cleanings until at least 30 minutes after my check-in time. I could tolerate it happening once but after the second time, you just know they have all sorts of time management issues. Sorry, but I've got better things to do than sit in a waiting room. Also, there's plenty of parking so you don't have to worry about factoring in an additional 15 minutes to find a spot. In the past, I've had hygienists who were somewhat rough or not that attentive with the saliva ejector (feels like you're being waterboarded) but I have not had a single bad experience with Kennedy Dental. I don't know if his staff are more seasoned or just better hygienists but it's very much noted and appreciated. What I like about Dr. Kennedy is he's communicative and very transparent. He talks you through everything (as much as you care to know) about your options and what he recommends. I've never felt like he was trying to sell me something. And while he's working on your teeth, he tells you everything he's doing. I imagine that takes an amazing level of skill and competence to do that. I've had two crowns done with him and both experiences couldn't have gone any smoother. Also, I really like that his method of delivering local anesthesia minimizes any discomfort. I didn't feel any myself. On top of all that, Dr. Kennedy is just a great guy. You can just tell he genuinely cares about his patients and enjoys what he does. You don't feel rushed. You don't just exchange a few words with him when you see him. He takes his time to let you know about the health of your teeth. In other words, you really get your money's worth! read more

I have such mixed feelings writing this. I like Dr Kennedy a lot and have been seeing him for about 2 years. I believe in his work and I love his staff. However, telling me "hurry up kid, make a decision now or we're taking this all out...I've got other patients waiting and you need to make a decision." while popping me on the arm is not appropriate. Then proceeding with the tooth shaving to demonstrate what it would look like, and getting flustered when I'm grimacing in pain from a neck injury and the pressure your applying and walking out leaving the technician and I to wrap things up did not feel good. Actually, our interaction today felt terrible. You need to slow down, talk your patients through what your doing and stop cramming so many of us into your practice; every interaction he bounces from one patient to the next and back again. Yes, I was told there might be a chance that we would need to do this a couple of months ago, but that every case was different and I could cross that bridge when we got there. I was also originally told I'd be getting 4 trays (Invisalign). Then had to sign paperwork and pay for 21 trays prior to procedure (this number was switched without a consultation or explanation) and today was surprised that I only got 9. Not a big deal and turned out in my favor, but adds to levels of confusion between the front and back of the practice. Not to mention there's a big difference in the cost of 4 to 21 trays and with no payment plans, this was a big undertaking financially. I called immediately after walking out the back door to ask about the difference in cost and was told that they would have to speak with Dr Kennedy after he returned from lunch. Haha! So much for all of those other patients waiting on me to make a decision. It was then I looked around the parking lot to notice it completely empty except for mine and one other person's car and realized that while walking through I passed almost every room and there wasn't a single other customer. Not the dentist for you if aggressive personalities aren't a fit. read more

The office was tidy, and the hygienist who worked on my teeth was wonderful, but I cannot recommend this office because of the condescending and dismissing tone of Dr. Kennedy. I just had my braces removed after 2 years in treatment and he spent most of our visit criticizing the care I had received before and trying to spook me into getting $1000's in treatment ASAP. When I told the receptionist that I didn't have a positive experience and that the dentist was much too aggressive she said it was a matter of preference and that other patients might not think he was aggressive enough! I had called ahead to make sure they were a preferred provider with my insurance, but received a bill after because they were not. They billed an outrageous amount for X-rays and a cleaning: $446! Was my first time here as an uninsured patient. My tooth chipped and was starting to feel sensitive. I'm so glad I found Kennedy Dental. After my previous experience with a dentist locally, I was very anxious about finding a new dentist... My first visit here exceeded every expectation I had. Leah at the front desk was very warm and welcoming. She answered all my questions about finances and was very eager to help me. I really appreciated that she went the extra step for me because I was paying for all of this out of pocket. Scheduling was easy and she reassured me that I can always call back if something changes with my teeth or I have any other questions. Justine took my X-rays. She was very clear with what she was doing and didn't do anything before asking me if it was okay. I really appreciate that as a patient that has had some traumatizing experiences... The sensor was having trouble fitting in my mouth and she took extra effort multiple times to readjust and switch the positioning for me. Her positive attitude, smile and laughter made me feel at ease. She also stayed with me the entire time Dr. Kennedy was with me and that was comforting. From my visit with Dr. Gerald Kennedy, I can say whole heartedly that I believe he is an honest, thorough, caring and gentle dentist. I felt nothing but comfort with him. His team noted from my initial booking appointment my dental anxiety and to my surprise it was one of the first things Dr. Kennedy brought up with me when we met. I really appreciate that he told me what all my options were for taking care of my tooth and then gave me his recommendation. I hadn't been to the dentist in nearly 10 years since I became self employed and have no dental insurance. I put it off until I couldn't. I was a little nervous going in, expecting to have the next hour be a grueling torture of poking and scraping and bleeding gums, followed by a night of Tylenol pm. I was pleasantly surprised to feel totally at ease from the second I walked into the office and was greeted by both receptionists with big smiles and happy voices. I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes and was brought back, and had the most comprehensive and informative talk to the hygienist. She was so sweet and gentle, I felt ZERO DISCOMFORT throughout the cleaning with no sedation. It was an amazing experience. Dr. Kennedy is so sweet and explained everything about options for treatment of a few old fillings and some cosmetic dentistry options that I have for old bonding that is ready for replacement. I thought I had a pretty good dentist, but decided to go to get a second opinion at Kennedy. I'm super happy I did! The level of care I received here was incredible. Dr. Kennedy really listened to my concerns and responded with balanced information for me, so I actually felt included in the choices about my teeth (I'm used to dentist just telling me what I have to do, right?!?!) Unlike the busy dentist I used to go to where it was a constant sea of different techs and dentists, there is only Dr. Kennedy there and I have had the same excellent tech each time, and that is sooooo relaxing. Also they have nice earphones and spotify for you to listen to while you are in the chair. The work itself, and this is on my front teeth, was impeccable and artistic. They even had a high tech machine to help accurately gauge what shade of filling would match my teeth, and it is perfect. Lastly, they also offer nitrous and other treatments for those who really have a hard time getting dental work, like my wife, who is going to start coming here as well. I was comfortable and felt no pain. I was checked on repeatedly and even given a huge fuzzy blanket when I got cold. All of the procedures were explained before they happened. You know how sometimes you have a disheartening experience, you give your review and then that's it? As though 9 times out of 10, the people working for said establishment either just don't read the reviews or they just couldn't care less? Well, Recently I had a regrettable experience with one of the ladies at the front desk here at Kennedy Dental. And much like any yelper, I did my review and was prepared to move on from it. Within a day's time doctor Kennedy took time out to personally address the issues pertaining to my visit. He offered generously to give an exam and recommendation as soon as was convenient for me. He also said that a large portion of what is done at his office is dental surgery. His courtesy and willingness to discuss then rectify the situation was both impressive and comforting. Regardless of the quality of customer service put fourth by the woman at the front desk, I can tell you that Doctor Kennedy does take you and your medical needs very seriously. So, although my initial experience was poor, it's obvious that Doctor Kennedy does care about any persons medical needs, regardless of your insurance type. I would even say that in the future I plan on visiting again! The Kenton/Mock Crest area is lucky to have such a hands on Dentist so close to home. I love this office and everyone in it. The three professional services that I find to be both massively important and impossibly difficult to find are veterinarians, mechanics, and dentists. Dr. Kennedy and his staff are part of my winning trifecta. I think he's the sixth dentist I've visited in the past fifteen years, and there will be no seventh. His method of intervention is the one I prefer: start with the least invasive solution and progress from there as necessary, one step at a time. The dentist I saw before him managed to find two to four cavities during every visit in spite of my rigorous brushing and flossing. My daily routine hasn't changed since I started seeing Dr. Kennedy about a decade ago, but he has yet to find a cavity. Interesting, eh? He did find a small cavity in a tooth belonging to my wife a couple years back but said he could basically just sandblast it and no filling would be necessary. That's what he did and it hasn't presented a problem since. He's always friendly and relaxed, as is everyone on his staff. The turnover rate seems to be very low, which says good things about the way they're treated. Even the other patients in the waiting room appear more relaxed than folks in other dentistry offices. Probably because we all trust the doctor we're there to see, which removes most of the stress of the visit. It helps that he's never pushed whitening or any other cosmetic procedures on me. That practice seems common at a lot of other places. My wife has always had very few issues with her chompers and he actually told her she could reduce her visits to once a year instead of twice. Who does that? To me, it confirms that his goal is to be a good dentist, not to squeeze as much money as possible out of his patients. I can't recommend Kennedy Dental more highly. If your current dentist is anything less than stellar, you now know where to go for your next checkup. read more

I have been a patient there for 4 yrs. And I like the office staff and drs. However when u have x-rays u need to use a thyroid shield which they don't use. Now they r charging pts. For PPE supplies such as a plastic gown and face shield ( that is reusable after cleaning). I received a 10$ charge for this after I had a cleaning. I don't think it's the pts.
