This is a great little place to take your family when you can't play outside. There is a large and clean indoor area for the kids to romp and play on the equipment which essentially acts as a showroom for the business. A pretty smart use of space if you ask me. It's $7 for open play in the space M-F 10AM-4PM, for the entire time period. Stay as long as you want, not only an hour like some places offer. And you can bring snacks/lunch or leave for a bit of the day to get lunch and return and they won't charge again. They have picnic tables setup for eating purposes and they were surprisingly clean. Because the large equipment is their showroom it isn't run down or old. It all looks newly erected and not like kids play on it all day. They also have a big bounce house setup. There is an area with all Step 2 Kitchens and some of other Step 2 products to play with as well. They are preparing for an expansion to add even more play space. If you're looking for a wintertime birthday party, I think I'd suggest this place for sure. There is also complimentary coffee and ice water. Paid this company $450 to rent a bounce house for an outdoor event. They told me I needed a certificate of insurance to place the bounce house on the city street, so I got a $75 COI and a block permit, and then they canceled two hours before the event. Terrible communication, terrible business practices. We were miraculously able to get another bounce house with no notice. In a market with many people to rent bounce houses from, I'd avoid this company. read more

I walked out of Timbergyms today feeling like the world's greatest mom. Both my kids (3 and 15 mo) had a blast. Timbergyms is an indoor playplace. It's a pretty clever marketing concept, they sell all Step 2 outdoor structures and its out in their showroom for kids to play. It doesn't feel like your kids are just running around a retail store, it definitely feels like an indoor playplace. It's $5 per child and they do open play all day M-F and have bday parties on weekends. Pros Large bounce house- bring socks! Super fun roller coaster- a big hit with my toddler Well thought out layout Picnic tables for you to bring lunch/snacks for your kids- complimentary water and coffee too Price-$5 a kid is reasonable. I did not feel compelled to stay all day to get my money's worth Friendly knowledgeable staff. I saw a kid crying and his mother consoling him. Despite that, a staff member came over to check on him just to make sure the boy was okay. Cons Teeny, tiny bathroom. I really did not want to take my 15 mo old in the bathroom with me, but a sign on the door reminding parents to supervise their kids at all times guilted me into it. They have a lot of slide structures that seem pretty much the same. Maybe this is good when it's crowded, my kids didn't care either way. Pay $5 and your kids can have the benefits of mingling with other children, jumping around the bounce house, going down slides, swinging on tire swings, or running in and out of play houses. For adults, they have a nice little complimentary coffee and donut station. They also sell seasonal tickets for play at Timber Gyms. It's worth it if you like going there a lot. I believe this place is good for kids 2 to 6 years old. Though they have that area, this place prides themselves more on playground making. The owner has said before that this place is used to attract potential customers into buying swing sets and play houses. I'll be honest, though, but this place kind of reminds me of a McDonald's play scape - fun but no real care for keeping the place sanitary and safe. read more

My friends and I brought our kids for open play on Friday, May 18th. We were a little disappointed that the hours had changed for the summer. This has not been changed on the website or on Facebook so we had no idea until we got there. This is ok, since well simply go earlier next time. We just wished we had known ahead of time. The real issue though was the gentleman that was working that day. He started closing down for the day at 445/450pm. He kicked the kids out of the bounce house and shut it off around 445. He also started turning out lights around that time too, while we were all still there. He kept saying that normally he wouldn't be closing up so early but since it was Friday he wanted to get out of there. I understand that feeling but at the same time I felt it was very rude that we were being pushed out early. Especially being paying customers. We were pushed out the door and he was locking up prior to 5. He was in his car and pulling out of the parking lot at 458. I have a picture that is time stamped that shows this. I normally do not complain, and for all I know this may be in his right to close up early on a Friday, but our kid's play time was ruined and that is what upset me the most. I can't stress enough how much my friends and I love this place. This has been our only negative experience so far. I am not really sure if I'll be willing to go again for some time though. I'll definitely not want to go again if the same gentleman is working. read more

My kids (4 and 2.5) love going to TimberGyms, and it's a great place to let them run around and get tired out when you can't be outside. They love the bounce house and little toddler plastic "roller coaster", and will run between the swing sets and pirate ships climbing and sliding for hours. They also have a few picnic tables where you can bring in your own snacks and will host birthday parties. A few downfalls - the price has gone up to $7 per child, which seems a bit much to me. Especially when we wind up there for only an hour or so. (Poor planning on my part!). The bathrooms are small and not always the cleanest. My daughter has refused to use it at times, which will also cut our trip short. Most of the structures have similar slides and my kids have wound up getting bored of the same thing to climb on our last two trips here. But I'm sure we will return on a snowy or rainy day! read more

Had my son's 5th birthday party at Timber Gyms and the kids had a blast. The party prices (we had 14 kids attend) are very reasonable for what you get, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the place is clean. I was a bit skeptical when I first walked in but once I saw how much fun all the kids were having I was put at ease. The only thing that wasn't great was the cake, but they bring that in from an outside bakery business. Yet, to have a party with 14 kids, cake, drinks, and pizza for under $300 is unheard of now a days. I highly recommend Timber Gyms read more

I learned about Timbergyms when I joined a daytime "Moms" group for my then-two-year-old son. The Moms all ignored me, but who cares? Finding this place was worth it. My son spent many a rainy/snowy day playing on the playscapes, and when he was 3 we bought one. The staff was extremely helpful regarding the customizations we wanted, and all the pricing was clearly explained and printed out. The installation was great - on time and extremely well built. For around $100 they will come out to do maintenance, too (checking/tightening hardware, re-sealing the wood, etc). AND... they are GREAT for birthday parties! It could not possibly be easier: You choose your options...and show up. Period. They do EVERYTHING - provide the food, drinks, cake, paper products, set-up, clean-up, kiddie goodie bags/ balloons...they even give you the invitations and thank you notes. Two young people run each party (separate from the sales/office staff) and they were very good with the kids. They really kept an eye on everyone while they were playing, and were able to corral everyone when needed and kept them engaged. This party was for my son's 7th birthday...imagine having 16 of these youngsters running around!! Depending on your kid(s), I think 8 or 9 would be the oldest for these parties...older kids would not be impressed. But for the younger set, and for open play during the week, you can't beat it. Also, just a nice bonus that even 4 years after buying our playscape, the staff still calls me by name when they see me :-) read more

We've used Timbergyms for 2 birthday parties now as well as have purchased a swingset from them several years ago. Service is always top notch and the kids have a blast at the parties. We appreciate that it's one of the few party places that will allow you to bring in additional food on top of what is included in the party packages. That really helps my picky eaters out. read more

Great place, have been coming here for years for our kids' birthday parties, other kids' birthday parties and open play. Indoor jungle gyms, wiggle cars, play kitchens, pop-a-shot mini basketballs and 1 bouncy house. The Kakery in Newington does their birthday cakes - yum! Only minor gripes are the tiny lone bathroom and that the A/C doesn't work very well (but expected in this heatwave). A regular destination for our kids in wintertime :) read more

Absolutely horrible customer service! Management's attitude toward repairs seems to be "not my problem." I arranged and paid for a repair in early April, with a service date set for the week of May 5th. No one has called to schedule the repair. I have placed no less than 6 phone calls since, and have been told, "that's up to the service crew. We have nothing to do with scheduling," and, "it's out of my hands, I'll have them, call you." Yet here we are, May 30th, and three Sundays where they have promised the service crew would call to schedule for that week, have come and gone. Just like a previous reviewer said, they have had this problem before. They take your money, but not the responsibility of providing the service you paid for. read more

This is the email I sent Timbergyms on 7/24/15. Unbeknownst to me at the time, my wife was also sending them an email complaining about the services. One week later (7/31/15) and we still have not heard back from them. I just logged into Yelp to post this and upon doing so it posted the review I had typed up last year but decided against posting at the time (I reference that in the message below). .............. E-mailing to express our displeasure with our service again this year. Last year we had a few issues with our service that, long story short .... resulted in us cancelling future jobs we were scheduled to have done. This year we decided to give it another shot and asked to have our swingset sealed and a board on the picnic table under the swingset that has been warped since installation replaced. We made this call about ..... 7 weeks ago maybe? ..... we were told you would call and let us know when you would be coming. Yesterday we were having our trees cut down in our yard. My wife drove by the house once on her way to pick up my son and noticed a red truck in the driveway that wasn't there when she left. She then saw all the swings were off their hooks and realized you had shown up to do the swings unannounced. Normally this wouldn't be an issue. But as I said we were having trees cut down, one of which was being cut down directly above the swingset. And they were doing so while the work was being done on the swingset. So debris and dust and shreddings were flying everywhere. Before she could even return home with my son she got a call saying the swingset was done. She asked him if all of the debris would affect the sealing and was told "probably not". Since she was caught offguard she forgot to ask about the bench. When she was able to finally check it out after the tree guys were gone she noticed the bench was never touched. So we paid approximately $150 to have the swingset sealed with debris all over it while the men cut down our trees and the bench is still warped. Also, our little girl's birthday party is on Saturday. Last year it took about 3-4 days before we were able to use our swings again. With her party being 2 days from yesterday, we will not be able to use the swingset for her party this year. If we were just called like we were promised, we could have asked you to come out another day and all of this would have been avoided. After all of our issues last year, I guess I shouldn't have expected the call, but we really thought you just had a bad couple months last year and this year it would be better. We love the swingset, the kids love the swingset, we had zero issues with the install, but since then the service has not been good at all. Last year was a horrible couple months of back and forth phone calls to where even your employees were telling us they don't understand why we were being treated like we were .... with phone calls not being returned, people showing up when we told them we will be away and asked them not to show up. Messages being left that you showed up (when we told you we'd be away) but we werent there and you forgot what we wanted done so nothing was done. Then us returning 1 day later only to find out "Clint just left for California" and we can't help you until he returns and we don't know when that will be. Even then we were promised a call back and never received one. Out of all our issues though, I think the one that upset my wife the most is the fact that it looks like we will not be able to use the swingset for our daughter's birthday party. She has been looking forward to our family visiting and playing with her cousins on the swingset and now we can not do that. Last year I had a big review written up for Facebook and Yelp but when it was complete I decided not to post and send because we do like our swingset and did not want one bad year change our opinion of the company.
