Well, I was definitely not the easiest customer to work with. I talked to Scott, about a year before about the idea of buying a Harley. He never hassled me, called me, texted me etc. He just let me stew on the idea. A year goes by, and I go back in to talk to Scott. He remembered who I was and what kind of bike I was interested in. So we start walking around the show room, and I end up landing on a brand new 2023 Road Glide. They put a sold tag on it, and I left for the day, planning to return a few days later to finish up the paperwork. While I was gone, I had a change of heart. I told him I really wasn't comfortable spending that much money on a bike and that I actually didn't want the new bike. He never got angry or upset! We went next door and started looking at used bikes. I must have been with him for over an hour and a half at that point just sitting on bikes, starting them up etc. FINALLY I landed on a used street glide. We went next door, did the finance stuff etc. As difficult as I was with making a decision, never once did Scott pressure me or try to force me to buy something. He truly cared about me and my needs. While I was there, he gave me 100% of his attention. It was as if no other person was there! Which I greatly appreciate. I even brought my wife and kids in, and Scott was GREAT with them. Overall, Timbertown treated me great! I am 100% satisfied with my service and purchase. The store is very clean, organized and they have a great selection. The service guys and part counter guys are awesome as well. I would highly recommend that you go in and ask for SCOTT! read more

We broke down on the road and Timber Town Harley was the closest dealership to us so we were able to get the bike trailered there and the Service Dept. Refuse to look at it and didn't really even try to help us. Said he had to get to his other customers even though there was 20 of us on Bikes and we were in a bind. That was a very bad choice and poor management practices. I would try and avoid this dealership if at all possible! read more

We purchased riding boots from this Harley location. Friendly helpful staff. They didn't have a big selection, but my found boots for my hubby. The boots are for motorcycle riding so a good place to go if that's what you are looking for. They also have nice leather motorcycle jackets as well as other gear, helmets, gloves, shirts and more. A friend of mine broke down on a ten day trip. We trailered the bike into Timber Town HD. The service manager came out, started up the bike and listened to it. He said "yup you have a problem". Then he told us he was not going to upset his schedule working on a bike broke down during a ride. In 35 years of riding I have never encountered a HD shop turning away someone on a trip. We jammed on down to Williamette HD in Eugene. They bent over backwards getting my friends bike back on the road. If you're broke down near Salem don't expect Timber Town HD to help you out. My 2003 Electra glide was due for the twin cam tensioner service. I called another shop, and they quoted me $2300.00 for the work, I called Timber town and talked to Sean, told him I did not want the hydraulic upgrade since I had gotten 60k mile with the spring-loaded tensioners. I did want adjustable pushrods to make the work easier in the future. Sean mentioned possibly needing to replace lifters and lifter block if they were worn, so quote me worst case scenario. Still cheaper than the other place. Dropped my bike off and noticed my back tire was getting down there and with spring riding coming up had them replace that as well. Now Sean told me they were down a service tech due to personal issues so it might take a little longer to get the work done. Dropped it off on Saturday, Wednesday they called, it was ready to pick up. Now I told my bike into "the other place" for the 30k service. They called me and said I had a major oil leak, which I thought was strange since I have parked this bike in the same place for a decade and there has never been an oil spot under it, I pointed this out and the major oil leak was weeping around the D rings. I have had AMF Sportsters; I know what an oil leak is. Very happy with the service and the people, as Arnold say's "I'll be back." read more

From start to finish, EXCELLENT SERVICE!!! The inventory is ridiculous: A bike for every rider. We were like kids in a candy store. An expensive candy store. Lol. But well priced. The old saying "Less is more" is completely true. Les, our salesman is not just more, but EXTRA! He wasn't pushy, went at our pace and didn't try to talk us in to anything we didn't want. Bob handled the finances like a champ. Scott "poured" it on. Joe sold us some great leathers, helmet etc. The entire staff was awesome. The last time a wrote a review of Salem HD was 2014 and put up four stars. Since that time I've had to the opportunity to attend several events and also take my bike in for a few services. While I perform all my own routine service, with my '08 Fat Boy reaching 80K miles now, I had had some other work done on the bike. It's also important to note I purchased my 105th Anniversary bike new in '08 from Salem HD. The service department is excellent and fair. They keep you up to date on any changes during service and will also save you a few bucks when they can. Very pleased. I would like to start by saying that this was one of the best buying experiences I've had with anything. I had bought a used HD from a different non HD dealer and brought it into Salem Harley Davidson for some service and repairs. After finding out it needed about $3000 worth of work and it was a bit too big for us, I decided to look at something brand new that was a better fit and not deal with the headaches. This place and these people treated me and my wife with upmost respect of any dealership buying experience anywhere. I'm a first time Harley Davidson owner and I got to say I expected more arrogance or lack of care, but I couldn't of been more wrong. Worst Harley dealership I've ever been to, service dept. is an absolute joke. I was told they wouldn't even change the oil in my bike because it's a 1994, I had it in a couple years ago for pipes and it had to go back 5 times due to them incorrectly installing heat shields they had left clamps off because they said they were too difficult to put on. This place saved us! We were on an Alaskan/Yukon/British Columbian adventure on the Harley and came into Salem HD for our 20,000 service. They found an issue and they were quick to find a remedy for us and got us on our way. They have a great variety of clothing and accessories to spend your money on! We spent the morning there as we had to wait for the Harley to be serviced and the staff made us comfy in their upstairs, air conditioned waiting area with a huge TV. I bought a brand new 2021 Street Bob from them with a complete package . They called me multiple times asking if I had hit my Thousand Mile to come in for my tune up which was part of my purchase. When I finally got to my Thousand Miles I made an appointment and was assured that I was not going to be charged anything . I brought my bike in and they told me that it's going to cost me close to $600 to have my Thousand Mile break in tune-up. I talked to the service manager which lied to me and told me that he went through all kinds of phone calls and never heard anything which would be months of phone calls he would have to listen to . This place is full of liars and scam artists selling you motorcycles and ripping you off afterwards . The service department gave me a complete run down of the bike which was nice and they knocked a bit off the price to square things up. All together, not bad. They messed up as we all do but they did their best to make up for it and to make right. Could not ask for better service. Took my 07 Fatboy in for diagnosis, and repair. Not from this area I was lets say scepticle about leaving my bike with strangers. After meeting and speaking with Ty ( service manager ) I left with a good feeling. I was not disappointed. Ty called me informing me I could pick my bike up on Sunday 7/12/15, as Salem Harley was having a rally and service dept would be open for rally. Bike repair was completed in less time than expected, very pleased with bikes performance. Ty explained the issues and remedies in detail. My wife and I doubled up on her custom softtail to pick up my bike and drop hers off for a change of tires. Was not expecting to have tires changed same day (during rally ) however Ty came through, and we rode both bikes back to the coast. I do not know the mechanics names but cuddos to them as well. I was in the middle of an 8k trip and stranded in Bend, OR on a Sunday. My shifter had rattled loose. The Harley nearest to me did not open until Tuesday so I would have had to wait to get back on the road until Tuesday. I was able to get it shifting and got to the nearest gas station and called Salem Harley. Their service department was closed on Sunday's, but the manager said if I could get it to them in the next hour he would fix it personally. So I burned up Interstate 5 and got it to them an hour before they closed! The manager had it fixed and me back on the road in 45 mins! Class act! Best Harley I've been to when it comes to customer service and keeping you on the road. This is not always the case. read more

Beyond disrespectful, disorganized, and just all around sketchy. Because of personal reasons contributed to the military, I need to sell my bike. They said they would help. Made an appointment to come get the bike, and for the deal to go down. All it needed was a new battery, new fuel, and an oil change. Worked before. Started up last summer no problem. They got the bike, I showed up thinking I would sit and wait for them to make sure the bike was good. Instead, NO ONE knew why I was there, and the guy I made a deal with took the day off. Against my better judgement, I left the bike there and went home. The next day, the day they told me my appointment was, I waited and waited for a call. When I called, I was met with blatant disrespect from the manager. Wouldn't even let me finish a sentence. What he did tell me is that there is somehow a list of new issues with my bike, that have NEVER been issues before. Every other service center or dealership I've been to has been able to figure out issues like this within an hour, and within the same hour tell you what it is, how they plan to fix it, and how long it would take to fix it, these guys just had no idea what to do. "Have to run all a few dyna tests, and trouble shoot a bunch of things." At this point they have had my bike for over 24hrs. Again, any other shop would have told you AT LEAST by the end of the day, if not within an hour of them finding an issue. Before I could even really speak, or like I said before finish a sentence, dude jumped in and said "well maybe you should just come get it? Free tomorrow? I'll have my guy drop it off." He didn't even care to listen to a problem he was the root of. All of this leads me to 2 conclusions. Either he wanted to back out of the deal so he made it as difficult as possible, or they're making stuff up, and causing issues to lower the price at which they had agreed to purchase the bike. I wouldn't purchase a bike from them, I wouldn't ever let them service a bike of mine, and I sure wouldn't let them ever think they were capable of doing any of this for any other customer. I told them my entire story, and at the end of the day all dude saw was someone Harley could take advantage of. Moral of the story is they don't care about you as a customer or person, they only care about money and image. Look at some of the responses to other reviews. The ones I've read have been nothing but self praise. read more

Friday the 30th we called every Harley dealer in Oregon that had a Laguna Orange Street Glide Special, even a couple in Washington. Salem slaughtered the competition, they came to win and did they ever! Excellent customer service right out of the gate, both Bob and Matt stayed late Friday night working the deal to make sure we got everything we wanted and that everything was ready for us to pick it up on Saturday. They out did every offer we got from dealers across the state without hesitation. We made the 4 hour ride from Southern Oregon to pick it up Saturday and both guys stayed late again making sure everything was perfect for us. Jeff in parts was an amazing help making sure we got everything we wanted. They even installed an amazingly comfortable seat so that I would be comfortable on our adventure home. Everyone was SO nice, attentive and knowledgeable that it made the long trip one hundred percent worth it. This bike is AMAZING, and it only took about five minutes of riding after we picked it up before it was turning heads all over. We highly recommend this Harley dealer to any and everyone!
