However, after getting the vehicle back, the car continued losing coolant rapidly -- even while sitting parked overnight. I also experienced smoke from the exhaust at startup and additional oil leakage concerns after the repair. What became frustrating for me was the diagnostic process afterward. Once I returned with continued coolant loss concerns, the conversation shifted almost immediately toward "internal engine damage" and engine replacement, despite no combustion leak test, leak-down test, or follow-up compression testing being performed to confirm catastrophic engine failure. I understand overheating can potentially damage an engine, and I'm not disputing that possibility. My issue is that I did not feel there was enough confirmed diagnostic evidence presented before recommending something as major and expensive as an engine replacement. I also physically observed dried coolant residue and evidence of external coolant spray/leakage around the engine bay, and the vehicle was still losing coolant while parked and not running, which I felt deserved further external leak investigation before jumping to the conclusion of full engine replacement. To be fair, the staff did communicate concerns about possible overheating damage from the beginning. However, I left feeling more pushed toward a worst-case scenario than guided through a complete and confirmed diagnosis process. At minimum, I would strongly recommend that future customers request: combustion/block testing compression/leak-down testing and clear confirmation of leak sources before agreeing to major engine replacement recommendations.

I ended up paying well over $1,000 and was told repairs were needed that were not. What they didn't know was that I had just had repairs done very thoroughly due to a car accident. The mechanic who did those repairs first (a trusted mechanic) told me there was no reason for that part to be replaced and described the condition of the part to me in full as they saw it during their time with my car. The part that was replaced required an alignment afterward, which was not only not done but was offered to me as an optional item to purchase during my inspection with zero explanation as to why or any explanation that it is literally a requirement to align the vehicle after that part is replaced. When I tried to get them to align and calibrate my vehicle, they did not care at all. They were incredibly passive on the phone and it was as if they were completely used to getting yelled at by a swindled customer. Then when my partner tried to talk to them they kept putting him on hold for thirty minutes and then hanging up before threatening to call the police if he comes with my vehicle. This place is ready to scam you as fast as they can and you will not only walk away paying for more than you needed to, but you will have additional repairs needed when they are done. The shop I had just had repairs done at right before Williams has photo evidence that the part never needed to be replaced and that my alignment and calibration were done. Williams also never took a photo of that part during my inspection but took a photo of everything else-super suspicious, huh? They are trying to call my bluff but I am taking all of this evidence to the state police to hold them accountable and have filed a complaint with the BBB. They probably should have just issued the refund because I will not just roll over and take being scammed out of serious money over things that did not need to be addressed at all. They might scam people all of the time but they have done it to the wrong person because I will not let this go without reporting it and making sure they are held accountable for taking advantage of customers and ripping people off with full intention. I will copy and paste this review so that I can replace it EVERY SINGLE time those cowards take it down.

On top of that, I had also asked them for an engine diagnostic to see what my check engine light was about. I don't remember the exact price but they said they charge something like $90 for the diagnostic! I've never known any place charging for that, let alone such a ridiculous amount. Luckily I had the sense to say nevermind to that request. I'd avoid this place unless you don't mind price gouging.

On top of that, they tried to claim there were additional damages to my vehicle that were never there from the accident, which raised serious concerns about the accuracy and honesty of their assessment. They also never contacted me directly about these charges. Instead, they told my insurance company that anything not covered would be billed to me personally, without giving me any notice or chance to approve the costs beforehand. It honestly felt like I was being taken advantage of simply because my car was already in their possession. Being forced to pay a huge amount with no real work done is completely unacceptable. Do not bring your car here unless you want to risk paying thousands for little to nothing. Get everything in writing and be extremely cautious.

I went to Paradise Garage twice, once because I needed oil badly for my car (it burns oil occasionally, necessitating refills) and another time for an inspection. When I went for the oil, they happily gave it to me AT COST and without delay, leaving me stunned at their incredible generosity. I made sure to give my inspection business to them as well, and they were quick and efficient about it. In the past, I would usually go to Merchant's knowing I would be price-gouged and given unnecessary service. Either they don't know what they are doing or couldn't figure it out. I don't believe rain should stop you from doing a job especially if you are going to charge me for work you didn't do. I understand not test driving a car in the rain, but if it has not rained in 5-6 hours there shouldn't be an excuse.
