Worth it to take the shuttle (mini school bus with a couch and disco balls!) for $15/person to be dropped up at the top of Red Rocks - beats the long line walking up. $25/person pick up - approx 10 min walk but it's all downhill to the party bus and seemed way safer than all the taxi drivers in your face outside of the amphitheater. Brooks is awesome and takes care of you!! We stayed in the Rose Retreat again. It's a small room, but I love the big shower and mini fridge with Brita. The window air conditioning unit kept the place nice and cool with it being 95° outside. Private hot tub and robes in the closet. Breakfast is included. Order at check-in and enjoy the next morning. There is also fruit, bagels, coffee and tea, with alternative milk available. Bottomless mimosas available for a cost. We enjoyed a nice chess game with coffee after a delicious breakfast. This isn't a super nice or updated space, but we had everything we needed for our mixed bag of early 30s friends. My friends and I stayed in the Stone St. cottage, which is heavily Grateful Dead/psychedelic/ classic rock themed. The room is listed as sleeping 3, which we did on night one, but easily slept 4 on night 2. The grounds were so charming and eclectic. The cottage we were in was a little wonky and slanted on the floor, but the rooms were clean, the shower worked great and we had more than what we needed. We checked in super late in the darkness so we didn't get to experience a normal front desk check in, which I'm sure would brief us on procedures like pre-ordering breakfast the night before, but the staff was so accommodating when we showed up hungry and ordered bacon, eggs and potatoes in the AM. Mary was the cook and she was rad, quick witted and whipped up a lovely home cooked breakfast. There are 2 dogs (that we met) on site names Shokti (gorg white husky queen) and Mr. Dog (precious, hilarious chihuahua businessman) and we loved to pet and visit with them while in the main lodge. That space is incredible: kitschy, eclectic, trippy and warm, just like our whole stay! I could go on forever about how adult-summer-camp-esque the grounds were! Every cottage is themed, though we only entered ours. The covered hot tub was a crucial touch for our group in the crisp 50 degree weather to take a morning dip and unwind after the show. I'm unsure if all cottages come with hot tubs so definitely confirm if that's something you're interested in. The walkability to all the necessities and some breweries/ eateries was appealing when we had time to kill. Cliff House offers a shuttle to and from Red Rocks for a fixed price per rider. The shuttle to the venue leaves 15 minutes prior to doors which was a little late for us, so we opted to take the shuttle back and it was a highlight of the trip. Brook's organized the shuttle, sent us incredibly detailed instructions on where/ how to find her in a short, yellow school bus. I especially appreciate the details because we had been drinking etc and needed the depth of care taken to make sure we found her! The bus was stocked with beverages and we played music and just bopped down the hill, laughing our butts off. This was such a fun stay for us and it was thanks to the grounds, location, home cooked breakfast and tea in the lodge, Mary, Brooks, Shokti and Mr. Dog. I will recommend to anyone I know traveling that way!

This is your chance to explore one of them and the hosts are happy to share the history of both Denver and the castle! Lots of our local friends knew the house and were surprised to learn it was a bed and breakfast. (If I were local, I would make a point to stay.) It's like sleeping over in a museum time machine--which I can say is a dream of mine. Castle Marne is totally unique and delightful. It's an absolute treasure and it owes everything to the Peiker family, who have been operating the b&b for the last 30 years and who restored the entire house and property--there's a photo album to prove it if you're still not impressed. Our group stayed in 2 rooms: The Tower and one downstairs whose name I already forgot. Both were beautifully decorated with detail and respect for the home's Victorian roots. The property is immaculately landscaped so every window had a great view and soft light filtered through large trees. The rooms were spotless and everyone had a little extra space. We learned The Tower was originally an open porch area for the third floor ballroom! Our second room was added in the 1930s and felt like it's own apartment--with a separate porch and entry door very convenient for people like myself who forget things and have to go back inside 3-4 times before actually leaving. Delicious, healthy breakfast is served in the dining room with the other guests. Our hosts made bread, muffins, and fresh jam from scratch!! They were happy to accommodate one vegan diet as well. I called both hosts and was sent directly to voicemail. About 20 minutes later they finally texted back and told me to "lift the door up and it will roll to the right" When I followed that, the heavy door came off its track and crashed to the floor. It missed my child by maybe a foot. By sheer luck my daughter wasn't killed. I should have called the police to get my kids out instead of listening to their terrible advice. I've attached screenshots as of text communication as proof. Afterward, the hosts posted an Airbnb review claiming I "berated" them and "splintered their priceless door." The attached text messages show them being apologetic in real time until they wrote their public review. I never berated anyone, but I should have. Other issues: - Strong noise and odor from ducks in a cage or pen next to the room - Front door opens directly into a parking lot where homeless people frequently loitered - Cleanliness below basic standards Bottom line: the door is a serious hazard. The hosts were slow to respond and gave advice that nearly caused a disaster. This place is not safe for kids.

Michelle, my exquisite Golf cart tour guide drove me and another couple around and kind of pointed out some of the trailheads and amenities. Surprisingly, there are quite a few miles of trails all around the property. Unfortunately the clouds came in and thoughts of going for a hike quickly were disbanded. I didn't plan accordingly with my own food, so I ended up leaving and going out and grabbing a sub and a couple of adult beverages then rode In and parked...and "disrobed".....wow....no big deal!... Nonetheless, they have plenty of beverages and food there. Just not adult beverages. So there I was, what's a what's a naked guy going to do? Head to the pool of course,! And so I did, and chatted with a couple that stayed there the night before after the Tedeski &Trucks show at Red Rocks last night. Overall everyone was pleasant and very communicative. A wide array of people attend MAR,... young and old alike. Sure there were some kids around.... most had clothes on and they kind of went off and did their own thing for the most part. overall, a great intro to MAR.... not sure how often I'll find myself there, but it certainly was a good experience.

They have lockers under the beds, which were pretty dusty as your stuff just goes directly on the floor. They charge $4 to rent a lock. I appreciated how there were curtains on the bunk beds. Each room is themed, and I stayed in the Maps room, which was all female. This was the cutest, best decorated dorm I've stayed in. I loved the theme. The communal restrooms were clean, although one of the showers wasn't working. The bar was lively in the evening, and the work areas were nice.

The sheets were pilling and whatever was inside the blanket was uneven so it felt weird. The bathroom and shower were clean but do bring your own slippers and supplies. Needless to say, these are shared to go in early if you want to avoid wait or prior usage. There's a bar inside the building and it will get loud at night so if your are a light sleeper, think twice or come prepared. The location is very conveniently located in downtown with many nearby places to explored.

The expertly appointed, and finished small houses with trees outside of every window, each with a rotating supply of birds, is owned and operated by a couple nice enough to be Canadians. The 40 yard hike up a slight grade on a lighted path is almost enough to convince you that you are "in the mountains." The view from the outdoor seating area in front of each house of the valley is calming and the altitude makes the night's sleep feel well earned. Highly recommend.

We stayed three nights in room 209 for $89.92 per night, which was a slightly above average price for the trip. SHE: First, I have to explain this hotel is in the middle of a corporate office park area. Lots of generic corporate buildings. This apartment is clearly designed for business travelers who come in to work and may stay long-term short-term. That's clearly who it's catering to. HE: There was a minimum of two or three nights in order to book the room, so you can't just stay one night. SHE: So, because of that, it's fancy pretty, at least for us. It has a small kitchen and a big desk for working, and a couch. There's lots of shelves and cabinets and a closet. It has an ottoman that rolls around and a lap desk thing. So, you got a lot more than you get at a normal hotel. The desk had lots of outlets and a comfy desk chair. HE: The only problem is that it's on the far edge of town, far away from any attraction or anything interesting so it's awesome if you don't mind driving into town every day. It was a good 20-30 minute drive every time, depending on the traffic, which was sometimes terrible in places. If you want to do anything in south Denver, it's a great place. SHE: Sheets were comfortable. The bed was pretty comfortable. Four pillows, Two people, four pillows. It passed the pillow test. Each side of the bed had nightstands with outlets. Only one outlet, though? But the kitchen was close enough that I could plug in there and it would reach the bed. HE: Always travel with an extension cord. SHE: I appreciate the bathroom that has a light separate from a fan. It only had the very basics of dishware. Two spoons, two forks, two bowls, two mugs, two glasses, just two of everything except butter knives. There were a lot of plastic butter knives. HE: Full-sized for refrigerator. Freezer was good. Actually froze the stuff. Full oven and stove. Microwave. SHE: It had blackout curtains, and then shear curtains, so you could have some natural light. HE: The manager or owner was very nice and helpful. We only saw her once or twice, but she was helpful and friendly. She told us to stay away from Centennial. SHE: They also had a game room with a foosball table and air hockey and some board games. There's also a very small pool outdoors and a grill. There were a lot of people hanging out at the picnic table over the whole weekend. I suspect some people live or stay there for a long time. HE: There's not much nearby because it's all corporate buildings. There's A 7-Eleven a couple blocks away. You're not too far to drive from your strip malls with all your regular franchises and some grocery stores and stuff. MOD Pizza nearby. SHE: It's really nice, very new furnishings. It was very clean and corporate-like accommodations, but very good. You could probably stay there a long time. HE: I don't think you could find a better place for less than a hundred dollars.

There is nothing bad about Chautauqua, no matter the reason for being there. There is the park…read moreitself. The Dining Hall for a nice restaurant and the housing available to rent. There is also an auditorium that houses concerts and other programming. Some are run by external organizations and some by the Chautauqua Association. There is a long running classical concert series run by the Colorado Music Festival. And a separate series of more pop concerts by the Association itself. They also host special events like the one I attended Sunday featuring films and discussions by Historic Boulder. I have attended events in this historic building since before it was restored in 1977, though it is much more comfortable and tech equipped now. The upgrades have included new seating also. The building itself is still very rustic, without central heat or AC. But at least it now has a solid roof over our heads and no longer leaks into the buckets on the floor as it did in 1975. We've had some good decades since the renovation. I've included some pix so you can see how rustic it is but the sound enhancements have made it a worthy music venue.

While there are 60+ cabins available for long term stays, we chose one of their lodge rooms for our stay; it was perfect. The lodge has been recently renovated and was very comfortable and quiet. Kitchenette, with coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave. WiFi. No TV. The vintage photos of early Chataqua life add to the ambience. What a wonderful experience.
