    Taco Salad

In the past, Agave has been consistent and prepared only with fresh ingredients. The other evening I decided to treat myself to a Door Dash delivery of a taco salad. First, the dasher didn't read the specific instructions for finding my house. He ended up leaving my order by the garage door.... I love taco salad, and that's what I ordered, al pastor. The shell was stale, the ingredients were sparse, couldn't find the beans that are usually at the bottom. No guac or sour cream. This is SO far from the usual presentation.

We came here for a light lunch before a wine event with small bites, as we didn't want to arrive too hungry. We shared the grilled chicken avocado salad which was the perfect amount of very flavorful food! Service was friendly and quick. It was a warm environment with several regulars at the bar, who the staff knew by name.

My friends and I came here because I woke a dinner and tequila pairing as an auction item. Diego, the manager, made this dinner very special and our waitress was swet, attentive, and very helpful. It's a nice venue with plenty of seating both inside and out. We started with the chips and salsa, then guacamole. The red was definitely spicier than the green and the guacamole was very fresh. The chips were thicker than I prefer though good. 2nd course was the house salad, again very fresh with lots of flavor and not over dressed. They brought out a plate of seasoned crickets and spiced peanuts to pair with the tequila. Don't knock it until you try it. The crickets have a salty/citrus taste and the with peanuts are seriously addicting. Next was an oyster on the half shell which was sweet and flavorful. The main was a traditional chicken mole that was the Grandmother's recipe served with rice and beans. I was impressed with the flavors and beautifully cooked chicken. Last was a beautiful chocolate cake that was rich yet not sweet. Perfect ending.

First time in Healdsburg... an amazing ambiance... food is tasty and drinks.. smooth and fun!! The hospitality top notch.. with Aliyah and Mateo and the entire crew!! Highly recommend if you want some authentic Mexican food.. and you are passing through Healdsburg!!

A group of us went there on a Saturday evening. The place looks nice and bright with lots of colors. It was clean and had a great atmosphere. We were greeted promptly. First, the service was outstanding, and everyone represented the restaurant well. I ordered a chilli relleno, and my wife split a chicken chimichanga with other members of our party. The order came out quickly, and the presentation was great. The chimichanga was very good, but my chili relleno was okay. The pepper was too firm, and it lacked any real flavor. The beans and rice were lukewarm but had good flavor. The prices were reasonable, and the overall experience was good. I would eat there again, but I would not make a special trip to go there again. You have to like molle sauce, and I do, otherwise you will not like the chili relleno. They let you know when you order, and it has a good flavor. The people who work there are five-star!

The food, the service, the ambiance... everything was wonderful. I have struggled to find a dine in Mexican restaurant that I enjoyed this much. I appreciated that they kept it spicy ! I wish I took a photo of my drink. I believe it was the Don Juan. It was superb. Our waiter spoke so highly of their special at the time, chicken empanadas, even going out of her way to show us photos of it on her phone. They did not disappoint! Everyone in my family is still thinking about them.... can't wait to go back.

Agave is hands down one of my favorite spots in Healdsburg, but what truly makes every visit special is Maricela. She is an absolute rockstar! No matter how busy the restaurant gets, she handles everything with a friendly smile and incredible attention to detail. She is clearly a very hard worker and always has the best suggestions if you're looking to try something new. If you go, definitely ask for her--she makes an already great meal an amazing experience!

I really enjoyed Agave. Service was awesome. They were very attentive and it seem like everyone worked together to make the customers experience as best as possible. Food was good. I really enjoyed their fish ceviche and the molcajete. I expected the molcajete to be the bigger portion usually served at other places but the price was fair for what we got. I'd say it's good for 2 people. Cadillac margaritas were good and stiff. Micheladas were okay. I liked the Mexican theme and they had really cool decorations. They have a patio for outdoor dining. There was plenty of parking out front as they are in a shopping center.

A very solid 4 stars! We were going to be in the area and had a Mexican craving, so to the trusty Yelp machine I went, and it delivered in spades! Great atmosphere, warm service, with fresh ingredients in the food and drinks is a winning combo every time, and I can't wait to go back again when we're nearby. Fresh chips are served with two mild salsas. I tried the prickly pear mezcal cocktail and the enmoladas mole entree -- their version of an enchilada. Taylor had a giant burrito, and I think the only thing that could've taken it to the next level would have been served "wet style" like he usually does.

Beautiful ambience, amazing service, delicious cocktails, and incredible food. Even better--our kids loved their meals! A perfect spot for both adults and families. Highly recommend.

We came up from the City over Thanksgiving weekend for a little getaway and decided to switch things up last minute. We canceled our original reservation at a spot we'd been to before and chose Agave instead--and we're so glad we did. From the moment we arrived, the service was incredible: warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. Every dish we ordered was delicious, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. You can tell the team here takes pride in what they do. We'll definitely be returning the next time we're in town. And for the record--our corgi was absolutely in love with the food too. Highly recommend!

There is lots of street parking in the surrounding area. That being said, I visit on a Wednesday for dinner so I had no problem with parking but a Saturday night might be different. I chose to eat here on a whim because it's one of the few places open past 8pm. We had no issue with getting seated quickly and we sat outside because we had our dog with us. They were kind enough to give our dog a water bowl as well. Complimentary chips and salsa to start the meal off. The salsa tasted great and not too spicy at all. I ordered the Al pastor super burrito. The burrito was hefty and filled with delicious meat and other ingredients. The burrito was only $16 which was a great deal. My fiance ordered the quesabirria tacos and while I didn't try any, he said they were delicious and he would order them again. I definitely recommend stopping by this place for a delicious meal that won't break the bank.

We did walk in with a party of 11, expecting a long wait since it was a Saturday afternoon but they were able to seat us within just a few minutes. The vibe of the restaurant is modern and lively. I like that the tables are spaced out enough so it didn't feel cramped. One thing I appreciated was how accommodating the restaurant was for different dietary preferences. Our group included meat eaters, pescatarians, and vegetarians, and there was something for everyone. I ordered the grilled fish tacos with Spanish rice and refried beans. Since I'm allergic to shrimp, I let our server know, and he immediately made a note for the kitchen. I really appreciated the extra attention to food allergies. I liked that the fish was grilled instead of fried so the tacvos didn't feel heavy. It came topped with pico de gallo, shredded green and purple cabbage, cotija cheese and on the side they gave me pickled red onions and two lime wedges (dried out yikes!). The fish was perfectly cooked. It was flaky, buttery, and tender. I wouldn't change a thing about it. My only critique is that the tacos were dry overall. It needed a creamy sauce or even replace the shredded cabbage with a slaw. The Spanish rice was simple but still had good flavor. The refried beans were creamy, smooth, and topped with shredded white cheese. One helpful tip for anyone with dietary restrictions: the menu does NOT specify ingredients for some of the sides. We noticed the vegetarian plate came with whole beans instead of the refried beans served with the non-vegetarian dishes. Based on what was served, we deduced that the refried beans likely contain lard, even though it's not listed on the menu. That could be confusing for pescatarians or anyone ordering seafood who assumes the sides are meat-free. If you dine here and have dietary restrictions or food allergies, definitely clarify with your server about ingredients.

The menudo was excellent, they don't skimp on the tripe and it tasted great, especially with the chili oil at end of the buffet. The Birria was also very good and I had to try the nopales con huevos which was okay. I wish I could have the tortillas that are made in site, my wife loved them enough to wrap a few up to take home.
