I don't usually make a habit of hiring people that are registered anything of any kind , I found out about this after the fact. If I had children on my property I would be even more concerned the service was terrible, they are completely unprofessional in regards to bartering with my ex-partner to get themselves out of a tax bind, looking me in the eye and saying "marriage is between a man and a woman only " but accepting my money with huge smiles , they will promise you something and deliver on their terms and timelines, if they deliver at all Ive had my spa 7 years now and every time I drive by there I can't believe they are stil in business and to boot, I walk in with a friend interested in buying a spa enclosure and Cazz looks him in they eye and throws him and me out of her store, I guess we looked a little Too Gay that day, anyways bear valley spa's has earned my business all the way read more

We had it in our nearby plans to install some kind of Jacuzzi for our cabin. We stopped in and pretty immediately realized how cool John and Caz are. John helped us on many realities that we just didn't understand. He delivered us a discount priced perfectly installed Jacuzzi that is low energy as well, we're not always there. All the details on operation and keeping it perfectly clean were made really easy and clear for us. The location and nature of our cabin too, seemed like it was going to be difficult to bring it up, it wasn't....... they had it delivered and installed within 3-4 hours of arrival! What a piece of work these guys are. Warranty work consists of telling you the Spa was not cared for properly. They are the ones caring for the Spa. How does that work out? Bottom line. Expect slow to no service and excuses for warranty service. The brands they sell are low-end, so don't bother buying here either. Best if you buy down the hill. They are happy to deliver and install too. At least you can get a reputable company to help you. read more

Really horrible. Tells you they will do work (in my case, I've had to hound them for three MONTHS to get them to run a stop, calls to set up, doesn't show and doesn't call. REPETITIVELY. Same excuse: "We had a CRANE DELIVERY PROBLEM." Well, hire more people. Or decline to do work. They were pretty good at selling me a new cover for the spa and installing. Monthly service, they keep getting confused whether it's weekly or every other. Bill you for every week (on a credit card), but come every other. Do not notice leaks in a timely way. Do not leave a card with date of service every time, and they should put it in some kind of sleeve, since it's not waterproof. Ultimately, they were unable to discover the cause of a leak, and despite paying for service, they didn't even fill the spa or notify me if the GFI breaker had tripped and the spa stopped running altogether. They just want to sell spas. read more

After buying a spa from Timberline I decided to use them for my weekly spa service. I used them for just over a year and was often disappointed in the service. Their office is unorganized to say the least. Invoices would not come regularly and would often have undocumented additional charges. The quality of spa care was below average and my cleaning people would sometimes have to add chemical before renters would check in. This seemed to be normal in Big Bear and I would end up paying my cleaning crew a few extra dollars to pick up Timberline's slack. We stay at our cabin for 2-3 weeks every year for the 4th of July. During our last summer trip I noticed that the spa was completely ignored by Timberline. It eventually turned green and I was forced to drain and fill it myself in order to have clean water. I stopped by the Timberline store to ask why a tech wasn't sent to my property and was informed by Shane (John's right hand man) that their tech, Dustin, had gotten stitches in his finger and was not able to tend to his route. I asked why they didn't have someone else to cover his route and Shane replied, "we would rather have upset customers than hire someone for a temporary position." Shane's response was irritating but I could somewhat understand their dilemma. The next day we took our boat out (midweek) on Big Bear Lake and anchored near a marina. We were enjoying the weather when a boat and jet ski's anchored next to us. The boat that anchored next to us belonged to John, the owner of Timberline Spas. We waived and said hello. John had his wife (the office manager) and Shane (his right hand man) with him. I couldn't believe that they were admittedly behind on their spa routes but had the time to go out on the lake and ignore work. After my experience I lost any trust I had in Timberline and could not risk having the same neglect ruin one of our renter's experiences. read more

March 30-Stopped into store and explained problem with my spa. Work order to have a technician make a house call generated. March 31-April 11- Nothing heard. April 11- Called during first hour store was supposed to be open and had to leave message. Call never returned. April 12 - Called again. Lady that helped me two weeks earlier answered phone, apologized, said she would look into it and call me right back. Never called back. Don't know how they stay in business. read more

The service here is terrible! I called over 3 months ago to have a spa repaired and I was told over and over again it would be fixed that week. Needed a part and they just told me what I wanted to hear and didn't deliver on their word. Over 3 months later and still haven't heard from them! Bear valley spas got me the part same day and I installed it that same weekend. I will never call timberline for anything ever again read more

We used them for spa service. They were great for the first 8 months but something changed and the service went downhill. Every time I went up to my cabin, I couldn't use the spa, because it was dirty and smelled. I finally cancelled service with them and am maintaining it myself now. read more

DO NOT use this company for servicing your spa. I haven't experienced worse customer service anywhere. Calls go unreturned, and their "repairs" end up causing more problems. I spent many hundreds of dollars with Timberline on parts and installation only to discover that they installed parts incorrectly resulting in further damage. Under Timberline's care, the hoses in our spa froze resulting in considerable damage. Stay away! read more

Maybe Timberline is OK if you're purchasing a spa, but if you're looking for regular spa service, this company is the ABSOLUTE worst. We have a vacation cabin in Big Bear - Timberline serviced our spa for a couple years, and in the process, they slowly managed to destroy it. I eventually canned them and had another company take over. The new company discovered that Timberline's prior repairs had been done with shoddy parts and a lot of duct tape (and I paid top dollar for those parts). Plus Timberline never bothered to tell me that rats had invaded the underside of the spa cabinet and made a mess of it (yes, this happens with a lot of outdoor spas during the Big Bear winters also, but why would they have never told me, or tried to remedy the situation?) Their emergency number is also a joke. If you have an after-hours problem and leave a message, the call is never returned. At one point I spoke with the owner about a repair that Timberline seemed incapable of completing, and he told me I should just consider buying a new tub.... Seriously? I needed a competent repair, and instead they're trying to sell me a new tub for five grand! Stay away from this company or you will suffer the consequences, as I did. read more

There service is great they have been taking care of my spa.for two years now they are always on time and even leave a service record with the day and time they come and do the work they are always very pleasent and responsive when I have any questions. Stay away from this company!!! Other than John being a very friendly guy the service and reliability is just too inconsistent. This company within a 3-4 year period replaced the exact same parts they previously replaced, circuit board, jet motor and a few other things. This is not acceptable In addition they performed the work without providing me an estimate prior to installation and way over charged me for the services rendered. To make matters worse I asked for warranty and manufacturer information for well over 8 months via phone, text and email however, to this date I have not received the information. Also since installation, the spa has not worked correctly and I've asked well over 20 times to get this right including emailing them a video of the problem. Finally, I called a competitor who came highly recommended and within 20 minutes the problem was resolved. Timberline not only installed used parts they wired it wrong causing my spa to overheat and run on high resulting in an extremely high electrical bill. I feel so fortunate to have found another local tech who not only is reliable, reasonably priced but is honest. Turns out after speaking with several other spa owners in big bear my experience with Timberline is not out of the ordinary. I strongly considered taking this company to small claims and was told I was guaranteed to get my money back plus some, based solely on the fact I truly do like John I took this as a hard lesson learned. We purchased a custom made spa cover from Timberline in the Fall of 2014. The underside of the cover looked like it was starting to deteriorate within a couple months of purchase. The stiching then started to separate where the cover hinges and I have a feeling it will not last long and hope to get a year out of it. I met with John (the owner) and expressed my concerns about the poor workmanship and quality of the cover but he blames it on voiding the warranty by not changing out the water every 3 to 4 months and chemicals. He never gave us any paperwork or warranty when we purchased it. The previous spa cover lasted 7 to 10 years with the same spa service company maintaining it. We have another spa at our primary residence and the first cover lasted 13 years and the second one still looks like new after 2. It disappointing and frustrating to purchase a product and not have the distributor/owner stand behind it. read more
