I own vacation home up in Big Bear. I recently bought a spa and was doing the work running 220 service from breaker to spa. 97 foot run. I got everything hooked up but breakers kept tripping. Thought bad wire or bad breaker. So replaced everything twice to no avail. After 2 days trying to figure it out, I called Dennis out to the house . He diagnosed the problem immediately and had me up n running in little over n hour. Should Called him first would of saved me a lot of time and money!! I called to get my spa fixed. Originally Dennis was great. I paid $306 for him to repair a panel and then crickets. It was like pulling teeth to get a response. He said when the panel came in, he would go install it and then I never heard anything back. I had to follow up several times he apparently finally went over to the property took a look at it and then left according to the tenant there. Absolutely no communication no response and at this point I'm gonna have to follow a small Claims Court, Monday just to get my money back. Awful experience. Do not use this company! read more

Do not do business with Dennis or this company. This guy totally ripped us off on service and repair! He started off with good service and communication the first month. 2nd Month he starts coming every other week at random days and times even though we are paying for weekly service. Then he says we need to repair our 2nd Jet that wasn't working for $250 dollars. We pay him to order the parts (Capacitors for the jet Motor) and then the excuses start. A month goes by with more excuses and service only once every three weeks. We pay him for service one last time and he promises to come the next day to finally repair our spa...Never heard from the guy again. He may as well have reached inside my wallet and stole money right out of my pocket. Not sure how he maintains business with these kinds of ethics. It is regrettable I have to share this review. We purchased a cabin in Big Bear in Feb 2022. With this purchase came a spa that was in need of some repair and updating. We started using Dennis for our spa servicing at our cabin in Big Bear around April/May of this year. Initially he was prompt and responsive and his prices were fair. He came to our cabin and provided a quote for the repairs, new mechanical lift cover and jet replacements needed to bring our spa up to date. Mind you the spa was not that old but had not been taken care of well by the previous owners of the cabin. We prepaid a large portion of the quote upfront to ensure timely repair. After a month of waiting on the cover, I sent a text to inquire on an ETA. It was at this time I received a response it was on back-order. I continued to check in periodically with no communication from Dennis on the status and would wait long periods for a response. Finally I was advised the cover was in and would be installed in June. It was at this time I also requested all new jets be installed and was told the jets would be ordered. After several visits to our cabin between June and today (Sept. 6th), with text messages requesting an update, neither the cover nor the jets have been installed. I have not received a single response to my texts asking for an update. The spa has not been cleaned regularly. From other reviews, it seems to be a pattern with Dennis to take the deposits and then not do the work or communicate. While I know finding regular spa service in Big Bear can be tough, I would keep looking and save myself the headache that is inevitable with this company. read more

I own a cabin in Big Bear Lake area and in the winter time its booked from October to March non-stop. One big reason is that we have a spa on a deck overlooking the trees and area, its got a view but still private and the stars are amazing... except when the pump motor goes out and the guests are left without this key feature, things get ugly very quickly. I called 3 companies and one said they could be out in 2 weeks, the next said one week and the last said 4 days,.. and then a freind referred me to Dennis at Pool & Spa Care and he went out that afternoon and diagnosed the problem (and didn't carge an excessive charge to diagnose the problem), the called me with a very reasonable estimate... and get this SAID HE COULD FIX THAT DAY! Dennis really saved the day. He did all of this without me being there, he was very self sufficient, competent and FAST! Its the only spa company I will use in Big Bear from now on! read more

If you want the absolute epitome of unprofessionalism, then use Dennis and his family for your used recreational needs. Anticipate hours and hours of waiting and constant excuses for delays. I KNEW when he told me a time or a day I would laugh knowing it was BS. They must think they have a monopoly on pool tables and spas in the region the way they act. Just go on FB Market place and find some other pool table delivery guys. There are plenty! Or order Amazon. Bezos is at least reliable and not afraid of his father. Nor will Jeff or the FB Marketplace guys demand half payment upfront than still try to skim more from you before delivery. Any option is better than this company. read more

I own Teddy Bear's Cabin in Big Bear Lake. Tonight my guests told me that when they went to use the Pool Cues 3 out of 4 were broken. I called Dennis around 6:30 p.m. and he suggested the perfect Pool Cues for my cabin. Then he went to his store and delivered 4 new Pool Cues within the hour. Dennis enabled me to give 5-star service to my guests which is extremely important to me. This is the second time that Dennis has helped me with my Pool Table. The first time he applied a new Felt Finish and Bumpers to my Pool Table and I was extremely happy with that job too. In addition, his prices are really reasonable. In fact, I have never left a negative review before now so that shows you that this situation really sucked for us. 1st false statement: you did not move our table for free, you charged us an additional $100 on top of the $350 charged to re-felt our table. 2nd false statement: you NEVER reached back out to us when our items supposedly arrived. I have my husband's text log and phone log to prove that we tried to reach you several times and received zero response. 3rd false statement: you NEVER warned against the felt that we chose and you actually got back to us quickly after you were able to find it in less than 24 hours (seems it wasn't hard to find at all). 4th false statement: You said we didn't expect payment until we saw the table and were satisfied. This is the only reason I was surprised to have you call me the day after. I paid you right away after your call. We also had no idea that you had a website and were listed on Yelp since we were given your number from an acquaintance and you never provided the official name to your company. I wanted to know if you had a website so we could see your work. You said you didn't and then texted me pics of your work. The only reason we knew this was you was the mentioning of your name and the phone number listed. This is the only reason we are just now leaving this review. We couldn't figure out how else to get in touch with you since you were completely unresponsive by phone and text. Our felt issue began deteriorating after only a week. If you had simply responded we could have worked out all of these things that you're making false statements about. It is really poor form to not even take responsibility for never responding. As if we weren't already disappointed enough. And believe me, this was not an attempt to get you to repair our pool table. We have already found someone else to re-felt it for us and he has been responsive through out the entire process, not just in the beginning. You get what you pay for. We had this company move our table and re-felt it. Their communication was great at first. They also did the job within a week which was impressive. The issues began when my husband asked how much it would cost to get a new tip on his shorty stick. The main guy told him not to worry about it and that they would throw in a shorty stick along with a brush and chalk which we thought was really nice of them. When we followed up to ask why he didn't leave those items with our finished pool table, he acted as if he didn't remember that he'd made those promises but still agreed to bring the items over when they were in stock. Those items never arrived. We reached out to the main guy several times with absolutely no response. He seemed to have dropped off the face of the earth. It would have been better had he never promised us those items but now it has left us feeling quite disappointed. Also at first glance our pool table looked great but when we took a closer look we could actually see where the felt was not evenly tucked into each corner where the pockets are attached. Only a few weeks after the felt job was done the felt is pilling pretty badly as well. We bought our own brush but it barely helps which leads us to believe the felt they chose was not good quality. Overall, we thought this company was very responsive and quick to help us in the beginning. We also thought their prices were pretty reasonable but the overall experience and quality for what we paid for where sadly disappointing. read more

I just wanted to write a short review but this man is amazing . We own a log caving u. Big bear lake who is a weekend rental so it's extremely important to us that the spa is clean and working good . Any time I have a problem I call this guy and by less than 1 hr he is there to repair the soa and what's so great about him is that he carry new parts on his truck so the soa is never down and I never have unhappy guests. He is very reliable , honest and he dies the work less than 1 hr. He also help me calling my insurance so I can get reimburse the cost .i never had paid a dime more than what should be honestly charge or has he told me any different than exactly what needed to be done . The soa is always sparkling clean and running good .i bought this dos for him in 2005 and it always had minimum problem just normal wear and tear and when it is a rental I totally understand a pump or a light get broken . Do not hire Dennis: he took my money, did no work and ceased communication. On October 24, 2017 I wrote a check for a $3000 deposit and addressed it to his company, which he then cashed the following day. It has since been 9 months and no work has been done. In the beginning, he "updated" me via text about what "work" he had done that day. On March 28 of this year, he told me it would be ready by the following Monday--again, no work had been done. After that, he no longer responded to my calls or texts. I tried to contact him through the Better Business Bureau in the hopes of getting my $3000 back, but he ignored that as well. At this point I just want my money back. Save yourself the trouble and money and do not work with this company. read more

Dennis is amazing! I ordered a hot tub from the Home Depot and Dennis took care of the rest. He ordered a crane to get the hot tub exactly where I wanted it and hooked up all the electrical. He even picked up the spa from my vacation house and stored it at his place so it would not get stolen while we were waiting for the crane to become available. He is extremely professional and responsible, and he even provides weekly and bi-weekly spa service as well. Dennis and his brother are the best spa company to go with in Big Bear Lake! Last Fall we bought a vacation rental and had a used spa installed by someone else. Unfortunately the wiring wasn't set up right but Dennis had it sorted out in no time and helped us get the breakers replaced and didn't charge us anything for the service! Soon after, the heater relay board blew (apparently this is common with that model of Hot Springs). We had renters that weekend so Dennis went out at 10pm and replaced the board to get it up and running again. Then about a month later we had some rowdy renters who somehow managed to break the foam in the spa cover and bend the cover lift. Dennis promptly reported it to us and we worked with the property management company to make sure the renter's insurance covered a replacement which Dennis took care of. He did a fabulous job & worked with my home warranty to get & install a brand new, revved up blower for my spa. The spa works so much better than before. We recently moved to Big Bear and our home had an old spa from the 80s on the back deck. We contacted a few places in town for a new spa. They never showed up for the first appointment and rescheduled the next two. So we started looking for an alternative and found Pool & Spa Care. Dennis came by right after we called them. They designed a beautiful new spa for us that was more than we could have imagined and tailor made for us. His team rebuilt and reinforced our deck, ran the power lines from the modern spa added a higher fence and gate and installed this amazing new spa for less than it would have cost for just the far less impressive spa we would have purchased. They did not stop there. The 35 or so jets were placed in areas based on our massage preferences. Added lights and waterfalls and many awesome small touches like solar powered motion detector lights at ankle level, floating refreshment tables and under the deck colored lights. All of these things were a complete surprise. I can not express how friendly they all are and what a great job they did in such a timely manner. read more

What a blessing to have such a great spa company. I was fortunate to be able to get a used spa. I had contacted several company's for quotes to get a spa electrical panel installed. I was given some very HIGH estimates as well as false Information from the other local company's. Accidentally( Luckily) my request for a quote went to Dennis the owner of the spa company . Dennis contacted me right away and came out and gave me a Estimate I was very pleased with, He Installed a spa panel and got my spa up and running quickly and without any trumped up charges. He is a very Honest businessman , is very easy to communicate with, is very fair with his prices and he is expedient in getting the job completed.
