I first visited the office back in the fall of 2023. I didn't see Dr Dorius, but, instead some…read morequack who was "new" there. Based on the reviews on here and the timing of when I went, I'm guessing it was "Dr." Pope, since he apparently no longer works there, although it could have been Dr Proctor. Whichever "doctor" it was seemed to be more interested in cracking jokes than fixing teeth. I hadn't been to the dentist in 2 years, so I was expecting them to find some cavities. Instead I was rather surprised to hear that I had no cavities. 6 months later (in April 2024) I returned for a checkup/cleaning, and, once again, was told everything was fine. Fast-forward to December 2024, and I had moved out of the area and saw a new dentist. There I learned that I not only had 4 cavities in 4 different teeth, but that one of them (an old root canal) was so decayed that it wasn't worth saving, and another one (another root canal), not only had decay, but also had an abscess that was draining puss. My current dentist informed me that based on the damage to the gum/bones and the puss drainage it clearly had been going on for several YEARS, and that my prior dentist AND hygienist would have had to have been blind or incompetent not to notice the abscess. I had this confirmed by an endodontist to make sure my dentist was correct. So in April, according to Dr Pope and the hygienist at Smile/Dorius Dental Designs everything was fine. By December, I've got a mouth full of cavities and an abscess. Clearly my mouth didn't suddenly start falling apart in just 8 months. They didn't just miss a cavity on one tooth ---- they missed at least 2 (including an infected abscess years in the making), and probably 4. I would strongly encourage anyone who went to see that Pope quack, to get yourself to another dentist to make sure your teeth are in the shape he told you they were in. And we should all be demanding our money back at a minimum. As an update, a day after I posted this, Dr Proctor emailed me. He had zero interest in my experience, but, instead was primarily concerned that I mentioned his name as possibly being the inept dentist I saw. It was, in fact, Dr Pope who was the clown that I saw, who, conveniently, is no longer working there. Dr Proctor suggested that I remove my review because of this. The fact that he, as co-owner of the office, refuses to take responsibility for hiring a quack dentist (Pope) or cares about the damage he may have done to patients, speaks volumes about the integrity...or lack there of...of this dental practice. Additionally, the hygienist, who totally missed an oozing abscess on my tooth, is still working there.

We used yelp to look up a nearby dentist and found Dr Dorrough with Heber City Dental. I went to website and saw the Dr had over 24 years of experience and thought he would be the best fit. We called office to make appointment and the office was so kind and accommodating to get us right in the next day. We got to the office and It was absolutely gorgeous and clean. The office staff was warm and comforting and put my friend at ease. My friend isn't a fan of going to the dentist so was really nervous. The doctor was very honest and gentle. My friend was really happy with his results and wishes this dentist was in Las Vegas area. I highly recommend this office and will be referring my Utah family to come be patients! :)

Then a year after my dental appointment they all of a sudden served me with with a lawsuit for $3900! They said I owed $2000 plus around $1900 in legal fees! I told them I was going through cancer treatment and didn't receive any bills from them they said they didn't care and I needed to pay the $2000 plus the $1900. This is a terrible way to do business. I cant believe they would do that to someone going through cancer! They didn't have any breakdown of what I owed and aren't even willing to at least get rid of the $1900 of legal fees due to the fact that I had no idea I owed anything. So be VERY careful with this company and their billing.

Dr. Peterson has been a godsend! As a new resident to Park City, I needed to find a cosmetic…read moredentist asap as I had a front tooth bonding chip. I asked about teeth whitening too and the final results were natural seamless perfection. The teeth whitening was painless and 100% worth it. A couple years later my bonding looks the exact same as when I first got it. To my delight I learned about his extensive facial aesthetics. He is a perfectionist with Botox and can fix any issue. His customized placement is impressive (and this is coming from a seasoned Botox user!). Recently I tried a lip lift with lip threads and a half syringe of filler. The definition of my lip border and smoothing of lip lines is exactly what I needed. My husband also sees Dr. Peterson for cleaning and bonding. We are pleased to say the least!

This review is based on my personal first hand experience with the Dental practice and/or office of…read moreAdvanced Cosmetic Dentistry. My personal experience with this dentist office has been one that I'll never forget. I'll also never suggest this dental practice to anyone I know due to my personal first hand experiences. I had previously been a patient at Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry. Unfortunately, I again needed work done on two separate teeth, one that Dr. Peterson had previously worked on and another that required more immediate medically based attention, etc... Simply stated, after an initial appointment was made, a medical treatment plan was set into motion. I then returned for my prearranged appointment. During the follow-up appointment, the wrong tooth was repaired, and I was sent home with an apology from Dr. Peterson, with the promise of a quick repair on the tooth that was not repaired, etc etc... During further discussions with Dr. Peterson's office about the wrong tooth being repaired, the incident was blamed on a, "Communication miscommunication issue". Ultimately, I decided to give this dental practice anther opportunity to repair the original tooth, and follow-through on the repair work they had already started. As such, I made several phone calls to the dental office regarding my medical affairs. During one of these discussions, an employee of Dr. Peterson willingly and openly divulged and/or admitted that they had been recording our telephone conversations regarding my medical affairs. Since the employees admission possibly violated my HIPAA rights, I obviously reached out to the Utah State Health Department, and Dr. Peterson directly, etc... During this process, I returned to Dr. Peterson's office for another consultation (in person) to discuss the events that had transpired with the employee and to address my untreated tooth, etc... During this appointment, once Dr. Peterson learned that I had spoken to the Heath Department, I was then told by Dr. Peterson directly, "Any further medical treatment at his facility was contingent on weather I continued, or discontinued speaking to the Health Department about his employees actions". In other words, in short, this dental provider has literally tried to silence me from speaking with the Utah State Health Department regarding the actions of his employee by withholding further medical treatment, etc... Now I'm stuck with the most horrible dental experience I've ever had to deal with in my life time. I've literally been left with a deteriorating temporary tooth needing a crown, while the original tooth has still remained damaged and untreated for months due to what they have described as a "Communication miscommunication issue". Simply put, due to the situation I'm now having to seek out the services of an oral surgeon to review the dental work that was done. I'm also stuck in the position of having to locate another professional dental specialist to finish the uncompleted dental work and/or uncompleted repairs, in addition to completing the required forms for the proper Utah State agencies. Again, this review is based off my personal experiences with this dental provider... As such, I simply will not, and cannot recommend this dental provider's services, etc...
