    Sportsman's Breakfast

Small mom & pop diner with great food. Portions are huge, reasonable prices and good solid service. Only order the Sportsman's breakfast if you are really, really hungry. So glad we stopped. Please note, they currently close at 2 .

    "The Ultimate"

I came here for two reasons, proximity to my hotel and recommendation of the hotel desk clerk. I drove past it a couple of times since the sign seems to be having a bit of trouble lighting up, but once I found it, it was fine. It's an older property but serviceable, there's a counter with stools and plenty of tables. My first impression is that it is a typical mom & pop operation, a local, greasy spoon diner, the place the locals love and travelers are lucky to find. And I was right! The menu is aimed at the breakfast clientele, although there are dinner items on the menu, too. I opted for a "Potato Lovers" concoction called "The Ultimate." I asked if there was a half size order since I don't eat very large quantities of food and it's tough to do boxes when I'm traveling. What to my wondering eyes should appear but a huge plate full of hash brown taters mixed with diced ham, tomatoes, green peppers, and onions, all covered with a melted roof of cheddar jack cheese! If this was half size, I'm nervous to see what a full order would be! (I took more than half of it with me in a box. I have a cooler and I'm headed home today so it'll be fine. I'm looking forward to having it for breakfast!) It was terrific, by the way, and I would order it again if I returned to Washburn. Oh, not only are the portions generous, the prices are also attractive. This is my kinda greasy spoon! Try it, you'll probably think the same thing.

Stopped at Time Out on our way out of Bayfield. Service and food were good. Classic north woods diner. Could definitely use some updates. All 3 people in my group enjoyed our breakfast.

The Ultimate with two eggs and toast

Stopped for a quick bite to eat before heading to Bayfield. No frills restaurant offering plenty of breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Service was quick and friendly. Was a little busy when we arrived but there was no delay in ordering or receiving our meals. Food was very reasonably priced and the portions were huge. My boyfriend and I ordered potatoes, The Ultimate and Road Kill. Basically stuffed hashbrown with meats and veggies that included your choice of toast. We also ordered a side of pancakes. Everything tasted good and was very filling. If you find yourself in Washburn, stop in!

    Blueberry pancakes- very large

Portions are large. Silver dollar pancakes are the size of regular pancakes. Reg pancakes are hug. Food was good and would def go again. We had blueberry pancakes, the sports man and an omelette. It was 3 plate for four people and we still had left overs. Food was good.

Must go place in Washburn overtime we go up north. Super friendly restaurant and home made flavor. People seem to be coming here for a cozy time with friends and family. I like that kind of place.

Silver dollar pancakes were a side to my meal of hashbrowns, eggs, ham, and toast.

Everyone enjoyed their meals. Portions are huge and everything well cooked full of flavor. Mom and pop style, cash or check only. Everyone left with full bellies. Coffee is good and not overly strong. See my pictures for a sample of the size of the omelets..it was so thick it hid the fork tines! It was a few miles out of our way but well worth going out of our way to go there!

The afternoon we were there, it was extraordinarily blustery outside, with dirt being whipped around town as their major through road area was under construction. We parked our vehicle and walked a block or two to Coco, where we got a hot beverage to sip on while enjoying the hot blueberry turnover that had just come out of their oven. It was sooo delicious! Flaky pastry folded over generous, intensely-flavored blueberry filling. The experience brought me right back to childhood memories of eating the frozen ones made by Pepperidge Farms that you baked in the oven at home. It was the rare occasion that my mom bought a box or two of them (there were 4 per box, and there were 5 members in my family), most likely, when they were "on sale" at a local grocer. The decor inside the place was very colorful, quirky, funny, awesome! Will make it a point to visit this place again when I'm in the area!

After waiting in line for 20 minutes, we were only then told that hot food would take nearly an hour. That's something the line should be updated on every few minutes so people can decide whether to wait or not. The staff were very kind and efficient, and the girls with intolerances were happy to see such a large variety of options. They definitely need a bigger space to handle weekend rushes, but I get it, small town charm. The food and drinks we had were pretty good and overall fine, aside from the wait and the last minute news about the hot food. Would recommend for the people with intolerances but keep in mind it might take a while!

Patsy's serves up some delicious eats and their patio? All blooming, shaded loveliness. The first thing to note is that if you're dining on the patio, you'll want to run inside and grab some menus. You'll order at the bar. For my dinner I ordered their patty melt served on marbled rye, which was everything a patty melt ought to be (so good!). For my side, I opted for the onion rings which were battered (I prefer this over breaded) and perfectly crispy. Zero complaints on the pub grubtastic food. I also ordered an whiskey old fashioned, which was prepared in the Wisconsin style and was great. The service was also lovely. When I was ordering, the gentleman in front of me explained that he had been coming here for 30 years and it's the same guy behind the bar--amazing. Also, I totally accidentally left my purse on the patio (I only had one drink--just a complete oopsie moment). I didn't realize until the next morning. When I called, they had it stashed behind the bar for me and I was even able to pick it up prior to their opening. Really, above-and-beyond lovely folks working here. Get to it!

The owner stopped by to visit our table and tell us tales of his time checking out Tennessee BBQ, and the waitress ground our coffee and made sure we had everything we needed. We always feel like family here, but let me tell you, none of my family cooks as good as this!!!. We can only stop by about twice a year, but breakfast at the Delta Diner is truly one of the highlights of our year. I wasn't ready to eat at a restaurant, but since I trekked here, I decided to stay. Asked to sit on the patio for better air flow and was told that table is still dirty and I had to take a booth. The host wasn't thrilled when I insisted on waiting and sitting outside. At a time where everybody has different levels of comfort, I'd imagine a bit of flexibility would be key. The rest of the staff was incredibly friendly and they are all over the cleaning and safety measures. A great menu of options, but just wait til they walk you through the daily specials. The sweet potato hash is mixed with real potatoes, and a fantastic savory mix with eggs on top. Had the stuffed hash browns. Highly recommend getting over easy eggs on top as it was a bit dry. Good flavor on the Dutch baby, but was crazy about the jam on top or mushy center. Worth the stop and be prepared to sit a while.
