The food still has not changed from the last time I wrote a review about this place, it's not good enough quality food for what you pay. But what did change is the service! My server was amazing she was very out going and made sure my table was very well taken care of. She gave us a good suggestion for a salad. One Of the best servers I've ever had! Ordered kids menu, waited forever, waitress stated it too a while to cook hamburger, the manager wasn't any help, said she'd give me 50% off. When I paid, I did not tip, the waitress came back with receipt, through it down on the table, stated loudly that she didn't get a tip but got me 50% off. We have come here several times for burgers, they have been good, but nothing amazing. The service is always great, but the wait times can be lengthy. This was our first time here. The place was very clean and the staff was friendly. I ordered the fried mushrooms and a cup of chili. The mushrooms were pretty good. The chili was nasty to me. We grabbed lunch at the Times Grill before heading over to the Abita Brewery and boy do they have some crazy hamburgers! Mom and I got two burgers and split them and tried: Tiger Burger- Topped with a heap of cheese fries, crumbled bacon and shaved red onions and the Bluez Burger A jazzy flavor combination of crumbled bleu cheese, Romaine lettuce, tomato and shaved red onions. Of course I got both burgers without onions because (if you've read my reviews) you know I hate onions. This two star rating is solely based on the service my family and I received this past Thursday night. We were seated within a couple of minutes of arriving. No complaints there. It was about ten minutes for our waitress to arrive to our table. They were pretty busy although there was still about 6 tables that were empty. It looked more like they were understaffed. We saw our waitress only four times throughout our meal. The appetizers took a long time to arrive at the table. When our drinks arrived, she stated she would be right back with straws. My wife timed her, 12 minutes. It's been a while since we ate here. It may be a while before we come back. Not sure why was going on this night but I hope they get it fixed. read more

I'm fairly new to Mandeville, lives here 1 year, and I ended up eating here quite a bit in the beginning because they are like the only place in town that doesn't close after the early bird special! Maybe I'm exaggerating a little but I'm not used to everything in town closing before 9pm. So I gave them an extra star for their hours because I'm a night owl and often a late eater. Food is pretty good, nothing special or fancy but I haven't had anything bad here. ** fun fact, they don't have any gluten free buns but if you're gluten free you can bring your own bun and they'll toast it for you or prepare one of there many burgers for you. We have been here numerous times with hit or miss service. This evening we decided stop in for dinner. When we arrived we noticed a very large group who had already finished eating; we figured this is a good thing for timely service for us other patrons. Once we were seated; there was a young couple with 4 year old twins that were clearly agitated. This was the first time they were dining here. They said they had been waiting for 15 minutes and no one had even greeted them or taken their drink order. The man mentioned this to the host and after several more minutes still no one approached the table; they were in process of getting up to leave and we said we would get the Manager. We brought it to the Manager's attention and he said "well we got bombarded by the large group (I am not going to say which group because it was not their fault) and we are short staff." Now remember, this large group was already finished with their leftovers boxed and just sitting and visiting. This is no reason to ignore the other customers. Someone came and took their drink and food order and a separate waitress came to our table to get our drink order. We told our waitress we were ready to place our food order and she said that she couldn't take our food order because they didn't have enough handheld devices to input the order; she would have to wait til someone else was finished using theirs. Well, we received our drinks, the table next to us received their drinks and the young couple with the kids was still waiting on their drinks for 10 more minutes. This was a total of 25 minutes sitting there with their 4 year olds being absolutely well behaved waiting for their drinks. At this point they were furious and got up and left. We advised the Manager again of the lack of service and due to their poor service they lost a customer. Our waitress was ok but not very attentive. We ordered a grilled chicken salad and a blackened chicken salad. When we received our bill; the blackened chicken salad was $7 more than the grilled chicken salad! When I questioned it the waitress went and talked to the Manager then when she came back she said that it was her fault and she charged us twice for chicken on one of the salads. The salads were fine in taste. The problem is the service. In this case, the Manager should have personally gone to the young couple to apologize for the wait and made sure they received their drinks on a timely manner and followed up; but the Manager dropped the ball and did not do what should have been done to make sure this young couple were happy and feel like they mattered. My husband and I were looking for something different usually Friday is seafood night. I love the Catfish Tchefuncte but wanted to try the burger we hear so much about. I was not at all impressed especially for the price. I ordered medium well it was dry and no flavor and well done. I would have told my server if she would have ever come back to the table. No drink refills and could have used one the onion rings were salty. My husband had the club which isn't your traditional club. He said it was okay nothing to write home about. The ambiance was nice, clean, and cozy. By far Nan's has a much better burger, juicy, flavorful, and great service. We actually had to pay another server for our dinner, still waiting on the server. We've been coming to Times Grill for years and this is the first time we've ever gotten up and left our table before even being served. We were seated for at least 15 minutes and never were approached by a server even after we got up and asked the host twice to have someone wait on us. We even saw him speak to the person who was supposed to have been our waitress and she simply went back to the serving station by the kitchen to talk with the other waitstaff. We didn't even have a drink order taken. Nothing. The host didn't even bother to apologize. We won't be returning for a very long time, if ever. Absolutely pitiful. I love this place! It was my first time visiting. EVERYONE was so welcoming. Incredible customer service. The manager greeted and seated us. We went at around 2pm and business was slow. The restaurant is very spacious and clean. They're known for their burgers which you can smell from the parking lot. My boyfriend ordered the Hulk. It was huge!! He enjoyed it. I had a turkey wrap and a side salad. Everything was fresh. Vincent, our waiter, was a sweetheart. He was very attentive and kept our drinks refreshed even before we realized they were dwindling. My husband got the BBQ Pulled Pork Nachos and Garlic Mashed Potatoes and I got the Smokey's Grilled Chicken with Steamed Broccoli. Not a single thing disappointed! I am dieting so I hoped my choice was a good option. Was it ever!! The chicken was so juicy and the broccoli had a hint of sweetness - sounds gross but I didn't need to add any salt, pepper, queso etc to it. Now on to the nachos. WOW! As I said, I am dieting but holy moley... if all I could have for a cheat meal was those nachos, I'd get them! The pulled pork was done just right. The BBQ sauce was sweet and tangy. You also get a small side of salsa and sour cream and a HUGE side of queso. My husband even said the mashed potatoes was some of the best he's ever had... and this was from reheating them the next day because the BBQ Pulled Pork Nachos was so filling! Amazing food. Times Grill has been around a while. We've seen at least three restaurant renovations, menu overhauls, etc. and they are still here and providing fantastic food. My Son love the chicken tenders and I'm a burger fan. Their mozzarella sticks are amazing, as are the onion rings. It's hard to find something on the menu that isn't good. Maybe impossible. What can I say about The Times Grill that hasn't yet been said? Maybe a simple Pro & Con list is the way to go... PROS: 1. $1.50 drafts 2. It's location (Causeway at 190) is convenient to most anywhere in the North Shore. 3. Service is generally fairly prompt (note that I said "generally") 4. Good selection of burger toppings CONS: 1. Service isn't always prompt (see above) 2. Food is mediocre 3. They really don't understand that a "medium well" burger has at the most just a touch of pink in the patty. The restaurant has several large tv's placed on each wall, so this is a nice spot to watch a game or other popular event. Their specialty is definitely the burgers, though! My personal favorite is the Buster Burger. I get it every time. Its a burger on a wheat bun served with sweet potato fries. I like my burgers at a low Medium/MR at restaurants that I trust (I know that grosses some people out..) and this place tends to get it spot on every time. The fries can be hit or miss, but really the burger is the star of the show. Overall, the atmosphere is "Sports Grill" and it is more than appropriate for family/kids. There is a bar area that seems pretty small so you would probably do best just ordering your adult beverages at a table. The prices are burger appropriate. All in all, its a pretty nice burger joint. Have been going to Times since it was a tiny corner in a strip center on HWY 22 . Ate there last night and food was very good service a little lacking but not terrible. The reason for 2 stars is upon entering ( place was not crowded or busy) we asked for a booth. Quite a few open even with social distance protocol. The host takes us to a both next to the restrooms and also almost in the kitchen. I asked what about those empty booths . Oh you can't sit there because it has to do with server rotation. Ok I understand fairness but I'm the customer and I don't want to sit here. I was just going to leave but my wife said let's just stay.
