He had filled a cavity and filled the tooth but I had an uneven bite so went back still not right went back again they say takes time to heal it never did was in pain for over 6 months I told him I was moving he kept saying come back I don't have time to keep coming back to his office. I was moving to Arizona which I did. Now he filed against my credit for the balance which was not much considering the pain suffering I went thru. WARNING FOR PARENTS....do not send your kids to this dentist thinking that Dr. Magic Smiles will provide a calm, easy dental experience. We specifically chose this dentist for my children because we assumed it would be a fun, positive experience. The hygienist Yvonne...was WONDERFUL!! She gets 5 stars. For cleanings only....this office is fine. If any dental work is needed for children...I would move on. I wish I would have listened to my gut. My 5 year old needed 2 filling in his molars. We waited patiently for 45 minutes in the waiting room, which I am fine with. I understand how things can get behind schedule. I work in the medical field...I get it...so I was patient and 100% understanding. Then we waited about 20-25 in the chair with nitrous....again...totally fine if my child is relaxed and not scared. Then the dentist finally came in. It was obvious he was "in the weeds" and wanted to just get out of there. He had patients in all chairs. First thing he did was try to jam a large mouth guard in his mouth....he handled the small one without problem. He was literally pushing this thing in his mouth. THAT was what scared my 5 year old. To sum things up quickly basically the dentist was trying to hurry. It was completely erratic, unprofessional and a disaster. The nitrous fell off his nose and he didn't bother to put it back on. His bib was all in his face. He was choking on his spit. He bit the dentists finger (mind you he's 5 and has never experienced this). The dentist said very loud.....multiple times "If you bit me...ill bite you back" Not really the environment to throw around a supposed joke. He was very loud, direct and pointed. The entire office could hear this fiasco. When it was all said and done....he THEN referred him to a TRUE pediatric dentist....but not before he warned me that my child would probably need "put down" (he's not a dog...he's a human) for his future dental appointments. And that 1 out of 50,000 do not wake up. WOW! I am pretty sure he meant put under anesthesia or put to sleep....not put down. All in all.....we were in that office for 2 1/2 hours and I had to pay for the terrible experience. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE GIVING THIS OFFICE YOUR MONEY!!! If maybe they would have said "I'm so sorry for this experience....don't worry about paying us close to $200" It would have softened the blow of the terrible experience. I received a threatening letter from this dentist's attorney stating that if I did not remove a Yelp review that I would be sued for "defamation" in a complaint of "over $50,000 in damages". Sorry, but the truth cannot be considered defamation, and neither can one's opinion of their experience. The truth is that I have a defective crown installed by Dr. Moore. The truth is that while undergoing routine procedures, I got a horrific infection and did not receive a diagnosis. The results were catastrophic. I will NOT be bullied, threatened, or intimidated. This guy has it all, from the less-than friendly office staff to the outdated equipment, to the rushed procedures and bad dental work. But he is a magician. He can make large amounts of money disappear out of your wallet and go into his. You have the right to know, and it is public information, that complaints have been filed and Dr. Moore has been disciplined by the Ohio State Dental Board on more than one occasion for numerous violations. I was in Colombus visiting some family earlier this year, and my cousin recommended this dental office for a checkup. One thing that was immediately clear, was Dr. Moore truly cares about his patients. I also find it really cool that besides being an amazing Dentist, he also dabbles in the art of magic! I love how he has this displayed on the walls of the office too, "magic touch" haha, clever. If you ask, he's been know to even show you a quick trick! :D I've always dreaded visiting the dentist in the past, but Dr. Moore actually made it fun! read more

Dr. Moore's dental practice is wonderful. His staff are very nice and professional. Dr. Moore is a super nice man and a great Dentist. He always gives you plenty of nova cane and will give you laughing gas if you want it. He is a Magic buff and his office is decorated with posters of old famous magicians from the past. He is open late (until 9:00 PM) on Thursdays and he is in on Saturday once a month. You should check his place out. read more

Do your homework people! Look Dr. Moore up on the Ohio State Dental Board. This dentist does not do quality work. Much of the work he does appears unnecessary and is completed in a rushed and poor manner. The work you do receive will need to be re-done by your next dentist, so save your teeth and your money and find SOMEONE ELSE. I have had to pay thousands of dollars to fix the crowns that were not seated properly. I currently have nearly $8,000 to pay for a replacement of an ill-fitted bridge, the repercussions of the bridge not fitting and the effects on my gums. When I made the effort to allow Dr. Moore to do the right thing, I received a letter with excuses and attempts to put blame on me. Nearly every time he did dental work on me, I would suffer from pain for weeks and often time need to have readjustments. I am so disappointed in myself for trusting this man for over 15 years. I believed that he really cared and did his best, but the reality is that his best is poor....period. Since leaving his practice 4 years ago, I have not had any need for root canals or new crowns! I have only had to replace and fix crowns that were not seated properly. It has taken 4 years to fix all the problems I left his practice with and I am having to pay all over again. My dental hygiene has not changed over my adult years, so I find it interesting that I don't have dental "problems" like I did under his care. Furthermore, what is interesting is that my husband went to this dentist too and after his first couple visits, he told me "he is a crook". Interesting enough, my husband has not had any further dental concerns at our new dentist either He should be sued but it is not financially practical to do so as it would cost more to hire an attorney. People are not protected by dental malpractice unless you suffer horrible consequences. Save your money and your teeth. read more

I received an email from Yelp recently which basically stated I didn't provide enough detail in my initial rating for this practice. I'm quite certain the owner of this business isn't very pleased with real people speaking the truth, so here we go again with an even more detailed account of what happened during SEVERAL visits with this practice. Never on time, EVER. I visited this practice 4 unfortunate times total--each time I was forced to wait in the small little waiting area with the old and sinking leather couch. My worst experience involved a woman who didn't speak the language there to take film of a cavity in my mouth...you know, the long armed thingy you're forced to bite down on a plastic film, they exit the area, take a picture, come back, then release the film then arm from you? Well, as the film was IN MY MOUTH, she elbowed the arm not once but TWICE causing a cut to appear inside of my mouth. All I heard was a "sorry" and that was it. Moore filled a cavity (back molar) too much, this forced me to come back several times for them to use a mechanical device to shave it down (no anesthetic) and hope for the filling to thus mesh with the other half of my teeth. Nonstop headaches, can't eat on that side of my mouth, it was simply an aweful experience. Because I already paid in advance everything (as they pretty much force you to do anyway with the condescending and assuming secretary up front) I was forced to go back again. He had to numb the area at least 5 times before I couldn't feel anything so he could work on another cavity in my mouth. That's unheard of...5 times of a needle going into your gums, constant pinching and "oh, sorry" after every painful infliction? This was intentional and disgusting to anyone reading this--IT REALLY HAPPENED. So, I was once advised 2 fillings wouldn't take any longer than 1 hour and 15 minutes turned into 4 hours and 30 minutes of nonstop pain around every corner. I informed him of my unhappiness and he never offered to cut the bill in half or offer any other level of restitution whatsoever. I'm not sure of how much more detail I need here aside from describing what people look like, names, height, dates this happened, etc. --I do believe I have offered enough insight into the worst dental practice in Ohio. As someone who is insecure about their teeth, I did not appreciate Dr. Moore commenting that my smile "would be stunning IF i were to get veneers." I went in for a simple cleaning, NOT for cosmetic advice. This was unwanted and insensitive, especially considering he did not stop attempting to persuade me after I said that I am aware of what my teeth look like and was not interested in hearing his opinion. That being said, the receptionist and the dental hygienist were both great. If Dr. Moore had not overstepped, I would have given a much better review. read more

I haven't been here personally to see the dentist! But I moved into town & was looking for good quality dentist, doctors and vision doctor for my family. I spend the whole day calling places seeing who takes my insurance and nobody help, everyone was saying no and hanging up. But once I called this dental office the nice lady on the phone was so helpful she took down my information she explain the insurance to me she called me back 3 times which actually showed she was trying to help me regardless if I was going into the dental office or not! She was the first nicest person on the phone! And I feel like the last review here on yelp are not really nice! Should check out the Facebook page rather than yelp. read more

Dr. Moore is one of the few trustworthy dentists I have been able to find in Columbus. Dentists are like a mechanic - you really don't know what they're saying, but you have to trust them. Not only did Dr. Moore explain why he thought I got a couple cavities, but actually used a tiny camera that took pictures of my teeth to show me what the cavities looked like, and he thoroughly explained how he was going to take care of it. Don't get me wrong, filling cavities is not a pedicure, but he was professional and it's been a awhile with no pain nor issues. I had another dentist (near my parents) do my cleaning and that dentist asked where I had the fillings done because everything looked so great still! The work actually lasts. I went to Dr Moore's office and found that I had 3 cavities. To start off, going in for a cleaning is something that I've never really minded, something I actually kind of enjoyed. At this office the hygienists were extremely rough, but nothing compared to the pain I felt after getting fillings from Dr Moore. He would numb my gums, then leave for long periods of time to work on other patients. These long periods were up to and sometimes more than an hour. So as no surprise when he came back and attempted to drill in to my teeth, the pain was unbearable. So he would numb me again and the cycle would repeat over and over. My visit for my fillings was nearly 6 hours. For the next week I experienced excruciating pain and the fillings were protruding and jagged. I ended up having to go back and having to get numbed again multiple times for him to fix the fillings. My family member had a worse experience resulting in an infection and need for surgery. I would not recommend this dentist or office. The receptionist was nice, so that's what the one star was for. read more
