This is a great mom and pop style restaurant to grab take out. The owners could not be friendlier! It is like a mini buffet for your selections. We ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken, Vegetarian Egg Rolls and rice to go. The service was quick and the food delicious. My daughters have been raving about this place for a few years but this was my first time to give it a try. It's friendly, clean, and tasty. I have lived in the area for 20 years and today was the first time I have ever tried this little restaurant. We ordered the egg rolls (2), sesame balls (6) and the walnut shrimp to go and it was all delicious! No complaints: 100% good and we will return soon! Service was fast and friendly! Recently, one of my good friends reminded me how good Tim's express is so I decided to try it out again it's been here for years and Scotts Valley. Walked in. The gal was really helpful. Asked me which three items I wanted to put it in a box I ordered rice and two other options. Inside was OK, reminded me of the way it looked 20 years ago super fast and easy as she was checking me out I asked for an extra sauce she was super rude to me about that it was gonna cost me an extra whatever didn't want to tell me what Price it was and then told me she was only gonna charge me $.50 I really didn't care. It was the fact that she was just so rude to me. She stated everyone charges for sauce these days and I said not really. I go to red pearl in Boulder Creek California. Jenny is the owner. She has sauces sitting out never a big deal to take an extra so I was just kind of offended by the way this employee or owner at Tim cuisine kept harping on me about the sauce it felt uncomfortable I won't come back. I'm a pretty big fan of Chinese fast food. Whenever I see a spot, I make a mental note to check it out. I was pretty excited to try this place, but it didn't quite hit the spot for me. I would recommend it over Panda Express because it's cheaper, but otherwise, I'd say the food and the portion sizes are both slightly below what I'd hope for. Sesame balls were a good value though, definitely get them. People like to review these spots like it's supposed to be some authentic experience, but let's be honest about what you're going here for-- a lot of food for a good price that has Chinese American flavors. For this style Chinese, it's definitely above par (par being Panda for hot plate Chinese imo, since they are the biggest chain) especially given the area. Food is never sitting too long it seems so it is fresh when picked up. Parking is a breeze in the strip mall and the owners are sweet. Beef and broccoli and the sweet and sour chicken are the staples here. I usually also spring for chow mein as well as white rice. Always have leftovers! read more

We happened upon this Asian eatery after an entire day filled with activities. This Chinese eatery is sandwiched between two restaurants: Japanese cuisine attracted quite a large group of patrons on one side, while the other satisfied the taste for Mexican cuisine. Our palates and whiffing nostrils deferred to this smaller, off-the-wall Asian eatery in the middle... and boy were we ever so glad we took that route. The owners (Tim and Shirley) were the best host and cook. Yes, the place is small. However the food is intoxicatingly delicious! We ordered take out: chicken with green beans, war wonton soup, combination egg foo yung, a coke, and canned coconut. The food was delivered to our waiting table, cooked fresh and hot by chef Tim. His wife Shirley noticed we couldn't resist eating the invitingly delicious scent that poured out of our take-out containers; she offered us disposable plates and utensils. We gratefully spooned out and ate our meal in appetizing bliss, as we watched other customers slowly pouring in. We took it that they must've been neighborhood regulars, as Shirley greeted each individual walk-ins with warm familiarity. Everything cost under $34... oh, and yes. Consistently yummy cuisine, prepared fresh by Tim himself, throughout the day - often upon request. Served by his lovely wife, Shirlee, who seems to be able to remember what most return customers ordered before, which is always nice. Tim's is a very good Chinese eatery, but I'm giving it a 'great' rating here because they took the effort to literally call themselves "Express". While there are a few chairs inside the small venue and a few tables outside, in front, this is not an ideal location to sit and eat with a group. Thus, "express". We eat here at least once or twice a week. We have 8 people in our household so def appreciate the excellent prices and the huge portions. The kids always jump for joy when I tell them we're getting Tim's. The family that owns the place is so dang nice, I have a big smile on my face every time I leave there. I see that some of the reviews complain that the veggies are over cooked (I've never had that problem), but I'd guess this is the nature of having food already prepared in heating trays for the people who walk in and want something instantly. If you call ahead and order they'll cook your order fresh and it will be ready and boxed when you arrive - you can ask them to cook the veggies less if you want. I can't say enough about how much we love Tim's. I'm so happy we have them here and I hope that they make it through this Shelter in Place /Pandemic. Ok I have to admit i should have refused the food but I didn't. I know thisIs a family owned business but I got there at 7:45 PM and most of the food from the serving buffet were gone. That should've been my queue that I should not be ordering any food. See they typically close at 9 PM and by 7:45 PM I expected at least semi-fresh food. I chose what I thought were the best looking of what was remaining food in the buffet. My choices were broccoli beef and kung pow chicken. The broccoli beef was a slobbery mess of mushed broccoli with some beef covered in cornstarch sauce. The kung pow was very unique, with zucchini and carrots both completely sot where you don't need your teeth to each this food, except for the occasional flexible peanuts which have been simmering in the sauce. The serving was so cold that the cashier lady send the food back without my request to the kitchen to get microwaved. That should've been my final cue to reject the food but I didn't. I'm writing this review not to discourage the people from eating there but to only let them know that do not go eat there if it's after 7:00 pm. I'm sure the food is good when it's fresh but I'll let you be the judge. I'm not going to risk it again. read more

Pretty tasty home style chinese food... if I didn't see the guy I would swear my dad was cooking in the back. The food was hot and fresh and tasted pretty good. There is bbq pork in the chow mein but I am not a big fan of the ever popular fat noodle. I also got the sesame chicken and kung pao chicken... I am love chicken. Because my office is freezing I also ordered hot and sour soup; it was made on the spot and got a big tub of it. OK, well two stars plus one crab nebula Tim's is a very nice, independently owned restaurant and you can tell these folks are hard workers. The price is right. The interior just has two long tables. It's small but still kinda fun. They have a vegetarian option on their lunch buffet, Eggplant & Tofu specifically, but that's about it. The biggest problem with this restaurant is that they have yet to offer vegan mock meat proteins. Those products from Gardein, Beyond Meat, Yves & Tofurkey are available in bulk from restaurant suppliers. It's cruelty free and gives the eaters as much protein as their meat counterparts. it'd be easy for the restaurant to get the new ingredients as well. Vegan Vegi-protein crumbles are similarly easy to find. In fact, Sweet Earth Foods (http://www.sweetEarthFoods.com/) right here on the Central Coast has everything a restaurant needs to include compassionate choices on the menu. Places like Felton Chinese Food & Chopstix (also in Felton) offer vegan Chinese food currently.
