Half eaten giant bowl of jajangmyun
    Elizabeth L.

We were visiting Scott's Valley, and we stumbled upon a great Asian fusion restaurant! If you're craving sushi or Korean comfort foods, this is the place to go! The jajangmyun is in a giant bowl, which will definitely fill you up! The sushi is fresh as well! Next time if we are in the area, we will definitely be back!

Excellent, high quality food at reasonable prices. The Box Specials are an especially good value. Very attentive serving staff as well. Clean and brightly lit space with pop music in background. Recommend'

Yummy fusion of the real deal Korean and Japanese dishes. We eat here at least monthly after hiking in the local parks Family run, nice staff and we enjoy our meals here.

This is a fairly new place with an awesome Korean owner. I was able to speak with him and he's very passionate about the dishes that he makes, and it shows. I've been here about three times already and the quality is on par with the Korean restaurants over the hill. It's hard to find good pho and Korean food on this side of the hill. He doesn't serve pho but just saying, it's limited here and not very good. I really hope he does good as this particular spot, the turnover rate is very high. The restaurant is huge so I can only imagine how expensive the lease is here. The interior is very inviting, clean, spacious and spread out perfectly for intimate and larger party settings. Parking is plentiful as it's shared but a lot of other businesses like a locally owned supermarket, pizza and Mexican restaurant too. I'll definitely be back as it's not too far from home. I highly recommend this spot. It's definitely a must try if you're hungry and headed home from a long day at the beach or for the locals, if you want some quality food.

The new spot in Scotts Valley! They have a great fusion of asian flavors that include Korean, Chinese, and Japanese. They have a sushi bar that is solid but you can also get some traditional and not so traditional Korean creations. My first visit tonight was awesome. I'll just start with why they lost the star. It was a hot July day and they were serving Soju that was almost cold and my water was refilled with warm water! Get the ice working and you have a winner! We started with 3 appetizers. The spicy edamame was awesome! Just spicy enough and loaded with flavor, a must try! The agedashi tofu was textbook, check out my video to see the dashi flakes wiggling from the hot broth's steam, yum! And my wife got the crab soup which (with a little salt) was delicious! For entrees I got the Bentley Maki and my wife got a dinner Bento Box. The Bentley was super good, the size looked intimidating to try to fit in my mouth but the thin slice was just right. A flavor explosion, yum! Her Bento was with the Scotts Valley Maki and Sweet & Sour Beef. I tried both and they were awesome, the S&S Beef was a great fusion example, try it! Overall the experience was nice, we walked out a bit overheated from the spice and warm beverages but quite satisfied. The prices are on the high side so we likely won't be here all the time but we will definitely be back. Give'em a try!

Great lunch spot. I was surprised that it wasn't crowded. There is plenty of space. They have a robot to wheel out the food. We ordered a bento box and a bibimbap. Healthy serving. The fifth star would have been given if the service was just a little bit faster. But overall more to try so I'll likely be back.

Jo and I have visited Far East + Kitchen a couple of times already usually to take advantage of 30% off all sushi rolls which are great (love the J's Maki roll). This visit we tried the Spicy Squid which we enjoyed through and through. The flavors were just right, it is a spicy meal but the type of spice is one that builds the more you eat. Yet, each bite is full of flavor and i find it delightful. Service was good and the restaurant has a quiet energy to it. Should be way more packed than it is. will keep coming back

We were meeting some friends who live in the area and chose this spot based on the positive reviews. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing visit and the service was terrible. We walked in and watched the staff walk by us multiple times without acknowledging us for a long time. Finally, the sushi chef who saw us just standing there for a while came around and apologetically asked us to grab a table. Then it took forever to get someone over to the table to get our drinks order which took a super long time to come out. Then it took forever to get someone to take our food order. At that point, all of us were fed up and were ready to leave. The food was just OK and would have tasted better if the service was even slightly better. Pass.

Sushi is always fresh and tasty. Happy hour is always good. Love to revisit again. They have Korean jajangmyun with handmade noodles. It is delicious! I usually come on the weekend and I always enjoy it.

The sweetest older couple took care of my boyfriend and I and made some of the most delicious food! I got the kimchi soup, and my boyfriend got the kimchi fried rice with chicken and korean fried chicken. The kimchi soup was one of the best i've had but was a little spicy so keep that in mind, i personally didn't mind! It had so many delicious add ins like pork, rice cakes, and glass noodle!! Kimchi fried rice as was rated 9/10 by my boyfriend! He wishes it had a little more chicken, but other than that it was delicious. The kfc was one of the best we've ever had! So crispy and the sauce was sweet with a little bit of heat! The sauce was seriously delish, like we were blown away! I was happily surprised to see a katsu menu (even a plate of mixed katsu), ramen (even Cheesy Ramen), and sushi rolls. I came with friends because we were craving classic Korean BBQ dishes, like spicy hot tofu soup and Dol Sot Chicken Bibimbap (clay pot with sizzling rice at the bottom - yum!) and soju (Korean wine), but we ended up also getting Japanese dishes, like unagi donburi (fresh water eel). Plus, as a classic Korean BBQ place, Sesame served the little dishes of Korean goodies, like kimchi, and they were so refreshingly tasty and obviously homemade! You know it's a good place when you are thinking about what dishes you want to order the next time you come, whom you want to invite, and where the takeout menu is! Service was okay: we were seated quickly and food arrived at a good pace. We had to ask for a few things, like remind them of our drinks, and wasn't checked on, but our server was easy to find and we had no complaints because we were too busy devouring our food and toasting with our pomegranate soju. Other things to note for first time customers: - Parking can be a little tricky because the lot in front of the restaurant is limited to about 5 cars only! Try across the street! Also beware that street parking meters are strictly enforced. - Drinks are delicious. Get them. - The place is spacious, so it's food for large groups. - Ambiance is more of a family restaurant (nothing fancy). The most important takeaways are: the food was delicious and the prices were reasonable!

Just to start, everyone we interacted with to place the order, pick up, and pay were extremely friendly. The order was packed well, utensils included as we had requested. Well it turns out we ordered a lot of cabbage salad but that wasn't a problem because of how fresh, crunchy, and flavorful it was. The peanuts and basil + dressing absolutely made something simple taste exquisite. I've never eaten so much salad in my life and I would happily go back for more. The shrimp were a little on the scant side, about 8 pieces sliced in half, so 4 whole shrimp, but they were extremely tasty. Nice marinade/seasoning and great char flavor. The skewers on the other hand were quite generous, each with 6-7 giant pieces of meat. They were delicious but what I appreciated the most was that they were still tender and juicy. A lot of restaurants par-cook skewers and then just reheat them for service, which dries them out -- almost certainly everyone has experienced this before. Not at JT. They were perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy. I can't say that I've had a lot of Cambodian food, but if it's as good as this, that might need to change.
