They gave me a huge portion which I think was one of the best I've ever had. This particular dish is not available with the dinner specials, so I needed to order it a la carte. Also, the dish does not come with rice, so I also ordered a small white rice to go along with it. This particular dish goes for $16.95 and I paid an additional $2 for a small order of rice. I have gone to this spot a consistent amount of times the last few months and I gotta say, it might be turning into my favorite Chinese spot in Scott's valley. I ordered the Szechuan tofu last time and it was delicious. Service was fast and friendly even though it was busy and the tofu had just the right about of crunch and spice in the sauce. It saddens me to write this review but what we ordered for take away was inedible except for the sesame balls. The sweet and sour chicken was extremely dry and tough. We received no rice but extra "red" sauce. Not sure what I am to do with copious amounts of red sauce. The egg rolls were small and greasy with absolutely no flavor. The cream cheese wontons were really chewy, had a chlorine taste and as tough as leather. I threw them away. The Chinese chicken salad has so much mayonnaise that no one could possibly eat it. I threw it away. The sesame balls were good. We enjoyed those four little balls. I basically spent $59.99 for four sesame balls because none of the other food was palatable. This was a great place to stop on our way back from a trip to Big Sur. As my partner and I walked into the restaurant, we enjoyed how cozy and warm the vibe was. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I enjoyed the variety of drink options available and ended up getting the hot tea, which was much-needed on such a cold night. I also truly appreciated how many vegetarian options there were. I felt like I had hit a gold mine! My partner and I split the orange tofu and the tofu Kung Pao, which were both so tasty. The restaurant had a great dinner deal, which came with soup and rice. We saw that there was a lunch deal on the menu as well, which looked like an awesome deal and a lot of value for the amount of food it comes with. The portions were so generous, and the vegetable lo mein that I got with my dinner deal was delicious. The soup was very warm and comforting, with lots of great flavor. Our favorite item by far was the Kung Pao tofu, which came with plenty of tasty vegetables, chilis, and peanuts. I loved the flavor of the sauce and how firm and tender the tofu was. Visited with my friends for Lunch today and tried three different things. Overall everything was generic but delicious, and for the price of $12.95 per lunch combo was fantastic. The combos also came with a soup and jasmine rice. We ordered the Salt and Pepper Fish and the Shrimp Chow Mein to share. The fish was lightly battered. It was fresh, crisp and seasoned to perfection. The noodles are delicious. They were cooked just right! Someone obviously tastes what they make at this restaurant. They work to perfect the dishes. Stopped for lunch on our way south. There were 5 of us and we were trying to figure out what to order since we weren't overly hungry. Our waitress suggested we order 4 lunch plates for the 5 of us. She even brought an extra bowl of soup so we'd each have one! We ordered two of the prawns with string beans, one plate of chicken with broccoli, and one plate with black bean fish with vegetables. Each plate came with rice and we had tea. We shared everything family style and every order was delicious. The prawns had a great crispy texture, not soggy or mushy at all, as they can sometimes get when overcooked. The vegetables in each dish were bright and fresh, cooked to perfection! Nothing was overcooked; each had a wonderful crunch and texture. The chicken fillets were tender as was the boneless fish and there was a great balance between the amount of chicken and fish versus vegetables in each dish. The only thing we had left was some rice, so that was perfect! We were all happy and satisfied when the fortune cookies came. Wonderful lunch. Went on Christmas Day. Got there around opening time, we took an extra few mins to order, but our order took almost an hour to arrive..they were obviously busy, but nobody checked in with us to let us know when it would be coming, and that was a little disappointing! But the food was great. General chicken, Mongolian beef, veggie chow mien, and white rice. I am pretty picky with chow mien and this was great!!! Chewy noodles, not too soft or salty. Who would have thought I would find some very nice Chinese food in Scotts Valley. It is like no other and my favorite is the lunch specials that they have. In terms of wait times for the food, they are okay for lunch but not too long. This seems to be a local spot because everyone from all walks of life come here. I probably think the servers or staff here are mostly ABC. In terms of food taste, much better than PE but you are paying for extreme quality. It's also the most affordable restaurant in Scotts Valley if you are not into Mexican, Japanese or expensive BBQ. It felt very warm when I arrived here. Everyone was busy talking with each other like any small town would do. It's a pretty small joint compared to places in Cupertino. Not so rushed but really laid back. Drawback: I really hate to say this but they seemed to automatically take money away from me as tip just because I put in a large bill. Just because of that I will never come here again with my family. No matter how serious you look they will do that. In light of that I would come here alone. The food is delicious! We love the freshness and the quality of their food! My favorite is the Spring Bean Chicken. The chicken is tender white meat, which is so buttery and delicious. My husdand's favorite is Sweet and Sour Pork. The tempura batter is light and delicate. It coats the tender pieces of pork perfectly. Their pork fried rice is the best I have ever tasted. Our server was sweet and attentive. The resturant is clean and tastefully decorated. When we lived in the area this resturant was one of our favorites. The owner called me back days later. Mind you we spent $80 on dinner. She said oh sorry that happened we do our best and kind of Chuckled. What a horrible response from a restaurant owner. That's a sanitary issue I should report it to the health department. It wasn't one hair but a ball of it. She said oh when you come back we'll give you a chow mein on the house. Seriously?! No appreciable difference between sizes. Also, there was almost no chicken. Dressing was a bland thick mayonnaise, to which I added a little soy and rice vinegar. Also ordered the steamed bao, Very gummy and hard to get into, but inside was tasty. I've had these elsewhere, so they are probably frozen from a distributor. The highlight was the small plate of sautéed string beans. Good spicy and cooked just right. I recommend that owners check what other restaurants are serving for Chinese chicken salad -- usually a breast of chicken, not 2-3 tbsp of tasteless minced chicken. Service was good. read more

I should have written this review years ago. My family and I have been going to Canton since we moved into this Valley during the pandemic. The owner, Miranda has always welcomed us with open arms. She is one of the most hard working, dedicated, and diligent workers I have come to know. The food here is made with such good flavor and taste. The chefs of the restaurant never disappoint, if they ever do Miranda is sure to fix it. The ambiance is great! Chill music is normally playing in the background and the service is always top notch. Make sure to stop on in and try their lunch specials. We have tried many items on the menu, but lunch is normally our favorite.
