Went here tonight (Saturday night) with my wife and we ordered the Family Dinner A which is $18.95 per person. What an amazing deal for the amount of food you receive! Everything tasted good. The meal came with Cashew Chicken, Sweet & Sour Pork, fried rice, wonton soup, and egg rolls. This is the best Chinese food we have tried in Scotts Valley! I will say the ambience is lacking as there is no style or theme. You are basically sitting inside a square room with tables and chairs. The service was fast! We were seated right away and once we ordered it seemed like food started arriving at our table shortly after. If you live in the Santa Cruz mountains, you gotta try this place next time you are craving Chinese food. read more

We came in right when they opened and the girls were very friendly, they were very helpful with the menu and were very patient with my substitutions. The room was very cold when we got there but I assume they were still opening the restaurant. They have a variety of Chinese food options on their menu. For a town that is as big as downtown this is one of the best Chinese restaurants I have been to. I recommend you get the hot tea it adds a little more delight to your meal. read more

Wow, what a place. Tucked away in a dull shopping center. Not too crowed. Got a booth. Traditional menu plus Pho. we ordered the two entree combo plate to share our two items. price was awesome. but the food was SO GOOD. So flavorful. the orange chicken was homemade with real chicken breast pieces with no fat on the. the veggies were fresh. Just everything that came out was great tasting. excellent overall. a new favorite for Chinese food. highly recommend it. Lunch here was great! The lunch specials are a great value. Most are $12.99 with huge portion sizes. Service was efficient and the ladies were very nice and friendly. The restaurant was a bit on the small side but it wasn't crowded when we went so it wasn't too loud and there was plenty of parking. My only "complaint" is that our appetizer came out last and the waitress entered the wrong order for one of our party members but it wasn't a big deal to us. Thanks for the great lunch! read more

We went for lunch on a Monday after checking out of our campsite. 2 kids got rice and plates (no charge) to try our dishes. 3 adults got lunch specials: beef and string beans, cashew chicken, and Mongolian beef and all where loved. Lunch comes with white or fried rice, chow mein, and soup of day (sweet and sour - 1 too hot, 1 a little hot but good, 1 very mild great taste.) The first time I went here in January I rated it a 5. It had reopened under a new name. I thought everything was really good. About two weeks ago we ordered again and the taste and quality declined. We even received dehydrated pot stickers. At least the protein to vegetables ratio was appropriate. Tonight it was poor taste and quality. Broccoli beef was 90+% broccoli uncooked. The food here is absolutely amazing. It's definitely my favorite Chinese place in the area. We have been here twice and this is what we've tried so far between my husband and myself. We have had the Mongolian beef, orange chicken, chicken chow mein, broccoli and beef, crab rangoons, honey walnut prawns, egg rolls, fried rice, and hot and sour soup. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the egg rolls but I'm from the East Coast and have a hard time finding the kind of egg rolls I like out here. The orange chicken was a bit too spicy for me but that's not their fault as they note on the menu it's spicy. My husband loved the Mongolian beef but I didn't dare try it since the orange chicken was too much for me lol. Overall everything has really good flavor and hit the spot! One day I'll get some pics but I'm usually too hungry to make that happen lol. The food comes out fast too. Alexander was our server both times and he is a little aloof at first but by the time we leave he usually has warmed up. I definitely recommend you give this place a shot. We enjoyed a delicious lunch today at Lucky Wok. We ordered off the generous lunch menu. You get soup, rice, chow mein and your dish of choice. The Hot and Sour soup was nicely balanced and very flavorful. One of us had lemon chicken. The chicken breast was served crispy hot topped with lemon sauce. I had Kung Pao Prawns with a generous amount of prawns, vegetables and toasted peanuts. We look forward to returning and trying more dishes. read more

This was our first visit, family of 6, and it is Easter Sunday. We saw the name had changed and decided to give it a try. The food we ordered was all top quality Chinese food. We ordered a couple family style meals for the adults and the kids chose the chow mein plates. Service began with glasses of water, followed by the shared soups, which everyone enjoyed. Every dish after that came out in decent intervals as empty dishes were cleared. The kids loved the chow mein. My only complaints were the lack of waitress services like asking if we needed anything, which we did. The girls there only came around to refill our water glasses. We were not supplied with condiments and had to ask for take home boxes and fortune cookies at the end. Also, the restaurant would be more enjoyable with some kind of music in the background. I asked about that and she said there was nothing but the tv playing sports. I noticed the busier restaurants all provide music, even with sports playing on tv screens. I plan to come back to try more things on the menu and hope that the girls working there on Easter just lacked training. We went there on an off night and early in the evening. Service was quick and efficient. They have comfortable booths. They make their own egg rolls and they were excellent. While we were there, I saw them making their own wontons. We are vegetarian so we had the tofu double mushroom, which was excellent very generous portions with a large amount of mushrooms. I had the spicy orange tofu. It was tasty would've been nice if it had some vegetables. I also got the fruity green tea. Good rice! This was pre-prepared but very good and interesting. Like every new restaurants there were some glitches but the food was very very good. I had one of the lunch specials which came with hot and sour soup, rice, chow mein, and my order of sweet and sour pork. The soup was delicious. The sweet and sour pork and fried rice were also really good. The chow mein was great. The lunch special was an excellent price especially since I had enough for dinner. My issues were the place was loud ( for awhile I was the only customer so that wasn't the reason) the music was loud, the phone was loud. But the food was so good I will definitely come back. We had a great 1st experience at Lucky Wok. I ordered looking at the menu. My finger stopped at 'honey walnut chicken' I THOUGHT I said 'honey walnut prawns' and we got chicken when our order arrived. My husband contested the order and the manager, after a discussion, we received, at no extra charge honey walnut prawns. On our way home, I realized where the miscommunication occurred, my part in it and REALLY APPRECIATE how the issue was handled. The food is excellent and portions generous. Full disclosure, I'm first generation Chinese. That's being said, Lucky Wok is a solid restaurant. My wife & I came to try their lunch specials after church on Sunday and it was delicious. The portions were good but the prices were the most surprising part. It's about $2-$3 cheaper than all the other comparable restaurants in Scott's Valley which makes it a great value. And for their soft opening, they gave us an unexpected 20% off! I asked the server when will the discount end and he said Sunday, 11/9 so hurry if you read this before the deadline. We ate there again tonight and it was just as good. The hot & sour soup was the best in SV. My family and I can't wait to go back and try something new before 11/9.
