I heard about the Tin Building and had to go in. The bakery caught my eye because my son loves croissants. I got one for him (which ended up becoming 2) and a ham and cheese for me. The ham and cheese was surprisingly delicious. So good that my friend's son had half of it. My friend got some cookies which were really good. The atmosphere is elegant but still comfortable.

Well, a lot can change since August 2022, when the Tin Building by Jean-Georges first opened up to today January 2025. A once bustling fabulous food hall of all times at a cost of apparently $200 million. The whole enterprise is losing approximately $100,000.00 per day. I am not a math expert but those numbers do not add up well. It was a mere whisper of a crowd today on a weekend. Good news: - It's less hectic these days, even with tourists. - The Bakery / Pâtisserie is still the best! Hands down - I still dig the location off the beaten path in the historic South Street Seaport neighborhood by the East River. Bad news - They had to let go of 100+ employees they chose without adequate ID. We already miss them, they were great... - Guessing we might be saying "Bye bye" to the JG Food Hall someday...stay tuned It's a sign of the times. Right? Thank you for reading

Great location, near Fulton street by the water. Lots of mini stores and restaurants within the building. Lots of places to grab a quick drink. Loved the bakery and presentation of all the bread. Delicious desserts including cookies and cakes. Lots of meat and cheese options, refunded groceries. You can spend hours here just browsing.

Beautifully curated foodhall. Not over saturated with stalls. Just the right combo of offerings. You will find something to please your palette for sure. We had coffee and a meal from the Frenchmen's Dough. The location is perfect for people watching.

Solidly 3 stars. I went at lunch and it was not very crowded. Not a huge selection of foods. Only to-go sushi which was expensive and not many selections. I ended up with a burrito chicken bowl for $12 but it lacked seasoning.. plenty of seating though. I would go there for some coffee and pastries, the bakery looks pretty good. The view is nice too so go if you just want to sit and talk.

I have been coming here since it opened over a year ago. My go to / food is never a miss! I usually order the Truffle Shuffle at his Frenchman's Dough sections. Today I went to the crepe again and ordered the cheese with smoked bacon and cheese in regular crepe. I do not like it on their doza crepe. I just like the regular. It is so good. I am very happy with it. Comes with egg and cheese and crumbled bacon. I'm

This fairly new establishment (about 3 years old) is always a sight for sore eyes. It is vibrant in many senses including visually, and in the aromas. There are quite a selection of eateries to select from for any palate. Love the baked goods, fresh produce from the market and tacos from a taqueria in the top level. They've also added additional outdoor seating facing the water. If you've never had a chance to visit it is a must on any visitors bucket list. Besides it's in the Seaport area filled with lots to see and do.

Located on South Street Seaport by the Sightseeing Cruises. We were walking after dinner looking for a Café to sit and enjoy a nice cup of coffee and dessert. We bumped into this building that advertised T-Cafe, so we walked right in. We were impressed with this bi-level, beautiful marketplace in general. There are so many different types of shopping that include grocery, produce, meats, retail, restaurants, bar, seafood, and more. We had a great time at it's Café and enjoyed a peaceful evening.

This was the second time I've been to the Tin Building. The bakery on the ground floor looked phenomenal. Instead of getting the usual croissant or sweet baked goods, we opted for the focaccia which seemed to be very popular as the few people ahead of us also ordered the focaccia. We topped off our focaccia with some prosciutto and coppa that we bought from the meat shop! We even got to sample some cheese. Overall, fun place to go for a day. It also has a few restaurants like ABCv and a high end Chinese speakeasy on the second floor.

Really great selection of baked goods. I really enjoyed the raspberry croissant and margarita focaccia in general. This is on the more expensive side, but I prefer coming here rather than Chelsea market because it's not as touristy

Worth checking out if you are in the area, this boutique-esque public market and food hall is like an upscale version of an indoor farmer's market, similar to those you'd find in many non-US countries. Walking towards the building plentiful outdoor seating encircles the building, with some first floor cafes and restaurants opening out directly to the sidewalk via classic pedestrian doors. Inside the grocery carries produce, dairy, meat on the first floor and dried/canned goods, tea and coffee and gifting items in the second floor. The cafe and restaurants include Patisserie (a French bakery), Crepes and Dosas (crepe stand), Taquito (a taco stand), Double Yoke (a burger stand), abcV (a veg/vegan restaurant that's part of the abc restaurant family), House of the Red Pearl (new Asian/Chinese), The Frenchman's Dough (an Italian restaurant), Fulton Fish Co (seafood), Shikku (Japanese sushi) and T. Brassiere. The beautifully arranged florist station located on the first floor is always a highlight. The Spoiled Parrot sweets shop is a sugar-lover's dream and also carries gelato. My only couple notes about this place are that the grocery items are on the pricier side and the location isn't very convenient if you're looking to do a larger supermarket run unless you live very close by, since finding parking isn't easy in this area. It's more of a place to buy souvenirs, have a nice meal and the occasional specialty item that's a treat. It's a bit out of the way for a casual bite unless you're planning some activities in the area.

The Tin Building market was breathtaking! The setup of the different shops was spacious and welcoming. The vibrant colors and windows all around gave the building a stunning brightness. It was interesting to see how the marketplace that sold fruits and vegetables was mixed in with the various restaurants that you could get a table at. The restaurants all looked sophisticated, with both table seating and bar seating available at each one. There was also what seemed to be an Asian inspired section of the market where you could purchase different ingredients and products. My boyfriend and I decided to get a burger from the Double Yolk stall after walking around and seeing what the Tin Building had to offer. This building was a great stop for lunch and I'm glad it was on my New York must visit list.

Amazing marketplace at Pier 17, with options to sit in cafe, enjoy bakery goods, breakfast sandwiches, french restaurant, pizza, crepe, seafood, Chinese restaurant and many other options spread across 2 floors. They have household grocery goods like meat and poultry from butcher shop, fish from seafood station, vegetables, fruits, pasta, and many other options. They got online order pick up area as well. The whole space is maintained very well. Everything is clean and organized. The building looks new from outside. A must visit place in Pier 17 area.

I visited right after opening, a little after 10 am (many businesses do not open until 11am, like my beloved Seed+Mill). My first impression was that it reminded me of a food hall similar to what I experienced in various cities in Japan. The variety of foods available is impressive and you really can find it all here, from an Italian grocer to Japanese to the various food stands offering everything from BBQ to the best halvah I've ever had. And there's a Pearl River Mart and other places to find gifts and souvenirs. My favorite of this ilk is Muji Market, which has all the Japanese amazing things! Also of note: very clean bathrooms. It reminds me of the bathrooms at Grand Central, a lot of stalls, sinks in the center, only much, much more pleasant. I'll be back as soon as I can. It's silly that I didn't come here when I actually lived in New York.

The physical location is open to 10pm though most shops and restaurants inside are closed by 8-9pm, only a handful of places like Chote Miya, Miznon, and La Devocione were still open though also wrapping up business for the evening. Wanted to highlight a few more stores here for this review: - Moon Man Foods: a Brooklyn-based company, they have a small stand about a third of the way thru the market (walking east to west), selling southeast Asian kaya jam, which is coconut-based and contain eggs, coconut milk, sugar, starch, and salt. They come in pandan, ube, and Java palm sugar (aka gula melaka) flavors. - Pearl River Mart and Pearl River Mart Foods: back in the day they used to be located in SoHo on Broadway, though rising rents made them relocate, and I'm glad they're still around! They carry all sorts of Asian-inspired decor, serving ware, stationery, and their "Foods" location downstairs is combination of Asian grocery, bubble tea (Milk & Tea), and Korean and Chinese snack/takeout stands (Kimbap Lab and Mao's Bao's). - Muji Market: this is a smaller location that carries a narrower assortment than your average Muji (house wares, basic apparel, accessories, kitchenware, snacks), though they have a full cafe serving coffee and matcha, simple Japanese lunch items like bowls, sandwiches and bento. Cafe prices seem a little higher probably due to the location. - gallery art: there is a small whitewashed hallway gallery of maybe a couple dozen small pieces by local artists, featuring NYC-centric photos, sketches, paintings, multi-media. Found this fun and entertaining!

I kind of had that in the back of my mind coming here. (There are many vintage coat vendors.) But prices have risen considerably. (What hasn't?!) The market is open Sundays, year 'round.
