Ordered a burger..instead of burger buns is white bread...ordered a philly cheese steak..instead of a hero..its burger bun. They should let the customer know so they can choose something else. Though it was a little pricey for a regular omelette , while my friend had a sausage and egg, no seasoning on home potatoes and just plain . The breakfast was ok. Given that diner is in a tourist area.This is a nice place in Chinatown to have breakfast and its service was friendly and diner was clean. This unassuming diner displays their fresh bakery goods in the window. We dropped just to grab a coffee but ended up eating a late breakfast. I had the California omelet which delivered fresh sliced and cooked to perfection potatoes and an omelette with real cheddar cheese, mushrooms and Avocado! My husband had the three eggs with bacon that provided 6 pieces! We had fresh squeezed orange juice! Breakfast also came with free cups of coffee. All for a great price point! I recently visited Tira Bakery Cafe and was thoroughly impressed by the entire experience. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with a modern and clean decor that made me feel right at home. But the real star of the show was the food - I ordered the NYPD Burger and it was great. It was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, and was juicy and full of flavor. The toppings were generously portioned and expertly balanced. The fries were cooked to a perfect golden brown, with just the right amount of crunch. The coffee was delicious. It was clear that the owners and staff at Tira Bakery Cafe take pride in their business, from the food to the service. This place used to be the Everest Diner, and we'd always avoided it because it had a reputation for lack of cleanliness. We hadn't realized it had changed owners until passing by here three days ago, so we had dinner here last night. The front part is the bakery and the selection is great (mostly cakes & cookies), and everything looks like a work of art. The back part is the diner and it has about fifteen tables. It's a very attractive space (apparently the new owner remodeled it), with beautiful wood floors. There were many temptations on the menu. I ended up ordering the vegetarian wrap and my husband ordered the Mexican panini. Both came with French fries, (creamy) cole slaw and a pickle. We also shared a peanut butter milkshake (*heavenly*). Everything was really delicious, and the wrap & panini were generous-sized portions. We got a scone (freshly-baked), but we were too stuffed to eat more than a bite and we took it home. We also took home two huge cookies (oatmeal and M&Ms) and a serving of bread pudding (my "obsession" dessert). We ate all of that for brunch today (delicious - although the bread pudding wasn't the traditional style, in that it was more like a pie). We had a nice conversation with the owner, who was *very* friendly - and our server was friendly & attentive. Food is good and big choices but restaurant grading right now is "grade pending". They need to correct their violations.

Greek diner. This place used to be called Everest & was sold & is now call Tria. Renovated inside with new furniture so much more comfortable than before. Diner food about the same as before. They added cakes & pastries up front but I haven't tried them yet. They use to get a lot of cops & tourist eating here in the morning & I have every expectation they will be back. read more

Well needed breakfast bad Sunday morning at about 7 am. Ughhh no place to be found except bodega and little debbie. So I searched yelp and Tria popped up. I must have been first customer of day cause I caught the guy behind counter off guard. I asked for bacon and eggs sunny well done home fries. Well he reached in draw on bottom for potato which was probably yesterday's, which I was glad for any. Any who the meal was ok and coffee was ok too. Nothing to call home about. But it was much better than little debbie for sure. I also tried the almond pastry which was ehhh like 2 stars at most. Very hard and not like others I have had else where. Hopefully next time I work Sunday I make sure to pack a breakfast. read more

I ordered an Italian omelette awhile back. It was really not so great. Felt like they barely cooked the sausage and sun dried tomatoes. There was no type of flavor at all. They gave me a sandwich with mix carrots, pepers and zucchini sundried tomatoes and no cheese and the bread was soggy. I didn't ask for that. How hard is is it to provide decent costumer service and at least get an order right? Charged $11.43 for the most tasteless sandwich and it was not even a panini. Tria Bakery Cafe just opened in Chinatown and I am so happy that it's here! The cafe has plentiful (and clean!) seating in the back and serves up paninis, sandwiches, pastas, and tons of freshly baked goods (cakes, cookies, pastries) - along with my favorite: diner-style breakfast! My boyfriend and I have been waiting for a place where we could eat a hearty, quick, and delicious American breakfast without straying too far from Chinatown and now we've found our go-to spot. The prices are reasonable (~$10 for breakfast entrees) and the portions are big. Service is really friendly and quick too. So glad this cafe has opened. This type of all day cafe is wonderful for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The pastry is terrific and beautifully displayed. The space was remodeled and is clean, bright and more spacious than usual in Chinatown. I live in the area and love the neighborhood. My son and I love Chinese food and try all the different places, but having a place to go for a great sandwich or omelette or classic western dinners is a great thing. Was waiting for doc's appt and saw this new diner. Pastries in windows caught my eyes, especially the chocolate cigar. Jewish bakery in my neigh used to make the most amazing choc cigar, now long gone, along with black-and-white, railroad cookies and rugelahs. So went in. Nice girl at counter. Friendly, polite, unlike most counter people in Chinatown. Ordered a black-and-white and choc cigar. Almost gave in on a crumb cake too, but this one had apples in it so I passed. Black-and-white was okay, good thick frosting but the cookie was too dry and bland. The real horror was the chocolate cigar. First it was phyllo dough, instead of a soft bread-like the old fashioned way. It was hard as a rock, I literally had to saw it with a knife. Then I smelled it when I got it to my mouth. Rancid! They put walnuts inside and the nuts were completely rancid. Guys you can make people sick with bad nuts. I threw the whole thing out. Waste of money. Doubt if I will try them ever again. read more

This review is strictly for the bakery. I came here on a Friday around noon. Their pastries and dessert display cases were beautiful. I wanted to try everything and i walked in. I picked up a croissant and 2 small oatmeal raisin cookies . I got it to-go to eat it at my doctor's office while waiting which is a block around the corner. Both the croissant and cookies were really cold and hard as a rock. It was so hard and dry. It was not even cold that day and there is no way walking that one block would change the quality of the baked goods. I couldn't even finish one of the cookies and the croissant even though I was starving. You can definitely taste the butter in the croissant. I decided to save it and warm it back it when I got home. I put both in the mini oven with low heat. Still the same! The croissant was so hard and not soft and flakey like the ones I'm used to eating even from chain cafes. The cookie was still hard, so I just tossed it. Didn't even take another bite. It was $11.99 per pound for the cookies! I might come back to try their diner food but won't be trying their baked goods again. read more

I ordered food and the cook made my food without gloves on touching all the bacon and food gloveless and he didn't wash his hands. Would not recommend. That was disgusting.
